Father Florin disappears after the prologue, and most players assume he's gone for good. He's not. Track him down in Svartrau City and he'll pull you into a quest chain that hands out legendary gear at a pace few side arcs in The Blood of Dawnwalker can match. Finish everything here and you'll walk away with four legendary items, 250 XP, and a secret way into Greifberg Castle.
How do you find Father Florin in The Blood of Dawnwalker?
Florin is in Svartrau City, located in the middle of the world map. Head to the large cathedral there; you can't miss it since it towers over every other building in the area. Arrive during the day and you'll find him mid-sermon, baptizing a baby with blood. Charming.
Speak with him and he'll hint at a scheme before directing you to his hideout, which gets marked on your map. That conversation kicks off the In the Name of the Father quest.
Should you loot the Treasury first?
Before heading to Florin's hideout, spend a few minutes inside the cathedral. It's worth it.
- Talk to the acolyte near the main entrance and ask him to open the storage room. This costs 1 Time Segment.
- Search the room and grab the Treasury Key from the journal inside.
Leave the cathedral and use the Treasury Key on the building directly across the courtyard.

The Treasury Building holds a surprising amount of useful loot:
- Recipe for Potent Vitality Balm (container, first floor)
- Recipe for Potent Balm of Fortitude (second floor room)
- Phial of Xanthe's Blood (same second floor room) a legendary consumable that teaches the Blood Surge ability automatically
- Recipe for Powder of Sharp Mind (cellar, accessed by moving a shelf on the first floor and climbing down the ladder)
- Stone Key (from the altar) hold onto this, you'll need it soon
In the Name of the Father: Should you help Florin or kill him?
Head to the marked location and enter through the back of the building. Drop into the basement and you'll find a forgotten temple complex that Florin and his followers have been quietly excavating.
Meet Florin in the inner chamber. Three options are on the table:
If your goal is to collect all the legendary gear and get the Greifberg Castle infiltration method, keep Florin alive. Killing him works but adds a fight you don't need.

Where are the legendary items?
With the Ancient Key in hand (either from agreeing with Florin or looting his corpse), head through the locked door into the deeper ruins.
The Hand of Fate sword
Move left through the ruins until you reach a chamber with a pit that glows green. Use Planeshift to drop into the cavern and push through to a small room guarded by Hive Kobolds. Clear them out, then use the Stone Key from the Treasury to open the chest.
Inside is The Hand of Fate, a legendary sword with the following stats:
- Witchcraft ability cooldown
- Witchcraft ability damage
- Activation Charge restoration (actions)
- Activation Charge restoration (passive)
Before leaving this area, check the shallow pit nearby for a ladder. At the bottom is the Old Key, which opens a door back to the temple complex and saves you backtracking.

The strange mural and Champion of Old
While moving through the connecting rooms, look for a strange mural on the wall. Examining it is technically optional, but doing so unlocks the Champion of Old side quest and gives you the Decrepit Key. You can come back to finish Champion of Old later, but examining the mural now saves a trip.
Rigoz, the Betrayed Hero, and the Ancient Hero's Armor
The main chamber holds the real prize. Rigoz, the Betrayed Hero waits here as a miniboss, surrounded by weaker enemies. Take out the small mobs first to avoid being overwhelmed, then focus on Rigoz.
After the fight, collect:
- Soul Stigma Manual
- Recipe for Potent Balm of Fortitude
- Ancient Hero's Armor — a legendary heavy chestpiece with human health restoration, Witchcraft ability damage, damage against supernatural enemies, and Activation Charge restoration (actions)
There's also a gap you can squeeze through to find a corpse carrying the Simple Key. Use it on the door at the top of the nearby steps for a direct shortcut back to the starting area.
Return to Father Florin and report your success. He rewards you with 250 XP and the secret knock sequence for Greifberg Castle, letting you enter the courtyard alone during the day. That's a significant advantage over the default approach of scaling the walls at night.
Champion of Old: How do you get Erka's Sword?
With the Champion of Old quest tracked, head to its marked location on the map. Cutting through the vines costs 3 Time Segments, so factor that into your planning before you go.
Once inside, grab the Soul Stigma Manual from the loot and then inspect every mural in the room. After you've examined all of them, Erkas the Repenter appears. He follows the Forgotten Warrior archetype and isn't particularly threatening compared to Rigoz, but don't get careless.
Defeating Erkas drops Erka's Sword, a legendary weapon with:
- Maximum human health
- Weapon critical hit chance
- Weapon critical damage
- Damage against supernatural enemies
That's the fourth legendary item from this entire quest chain, and Erka's Sword pairs well with human-focused builds heading into the late game.
