Where to Find the Blacksmith in The Sims 4 Royalty & Legacy

The Royalty & Legacy expansion for The Sims 4 introduces a new skill to grind: Swordsmanship. Every Sim starts out swinging a basic Wooden Sword, and the fastest way to trade up is by tracking down the Blacksmith in Ondarion. The problem is that Ondarion is a large neighborhood with a lot going on, so the shop isn't easy to stumble into. Here's the quickest way to find it.

Where the Blacksmith Is Located

The Blacksmith sits in the Verdemar neighborhood, which occupies the upper-left section of the Ondarion map. There is no map marker pointing directly to it, so look for a tan building with a light red roof decorated with anvil signs, swords on display out front, two practice dummies, and a furnace in the courtyard beside it.

Two nearby landmarks make it easier to orient yourself:

  • Ye Olde Voyager bar: positioned right next to the Blacksmith
  • Thebes residency: a nearby residential lot that is easier to spot from a distance than the shop itself

The easiest approach is to travel to the Ye Olde Voyager bar lot first, then walk up the ramp on the right or the stairs on the left into the small courtyard where the Blacksmith is set up.

Tip
A gazebo near the Blacksmith lets Sims enter a Swordsmanship Tournament. It's worth checking out while you're in the area.

What the Blacksmith Sells

Any Sim can walk up and interact with the shop immediately , no introduction required. Selecting Ask Blacksmith to Craft a Sword brings up five swords. Each requires a certain Swordsmanship level and has its own Simoleon price; some also require crafting materials like Plathinum or Ironyum.

Buying directly from the Blacksmith is generally cheaper than obtaining a sword through the Practice Dummy or ordering one online. This matters most early on when Simoleons are tight, so it's worth prioritizing the Blacksmith once you hit the required skill level.

Other Ways to Get Swords

The Blacksmith isn't the only source of swords in Ondarion. Several swords hidden around the world cannot be purchased at all. Simcalibur, for example, must be pulled from a stone near the Ye Olde Voyager courtyard, and doing so requires meeting specific conditions first. Other world swords come with their own unique requirements.

For a fast and reliable upgrade, however, the Blacksmith remains the most straightforward option in The Sims 4 Royalty & Legacy. Level up Swordsmanship, keep some Simoleons on hand, and head to Verdemar.
