The Feline armor (also called Cat School gear) is one of the most satisfying sets to hunt down in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. It turns Geralt into a glass cannon: lower damage resistance than heavier sets, but a meaningful boost to attack power, plus a passive that lets strong attacks feed into fast attack damage. Rear attacks hit harder and can stun enemies, which rewards aggressive, mobile play. The full set covers four armor pieces, two swords, and a crossbow.
important
You need Keira Metz's Eye of Nehaleni before you can reach the main diagram cache. If you haven't completed her questline far enough to get it, do that first or the illusory rock blocking the cave entrance won't budge.
Where to find the Feline armor diagrams
All of the base set diagrams are concentrated in and around Novigrad, which makes this one of the more convenient witcher gear hunts. The armor pieces are the first target, and they're all in the same cave.
The Witcher 3 Remastered Guide: How to Get the Feline Armor
The cave sits on the north side of Temple Isle, the northernmost island in Novigrad. Head to the northwesternmost house on the island and follow the trail that snakes around it down into the cave entrance. Use the Eye of Nehaleni to dispel the illusory wall blocking the way in.
Inside, you'll face a golem. You can deal with it now or skip past it temporarily, but you'll need to come back. Take a left through the tunnel to reach a circular chamber with statues around the perimeter.
How to solve the statue puzzle
Pull the lever next to each statue, as many times as needed, until every statue faces inward toward the center. Once they're all oriented correctly, a pool opens in the middle of the room and fills with drowners.
The key you need is on a corpse at the bottom of that pool. Save before diving. Hug the wall on the way down to reduce how many drowners can hit you, grab the key from the body, and get back out. With the key in hand, return to the main chamber, deal with the golem if you haven't already, and unlock the door behind it.
Defeating Mad Kiyan
Mad Kiyan is a crazed witcher waiting in the room beyond that door. He's the real boss of this sequence. Defeat him and loot the Feline armor diagrams from his corpse. Also grab the laboratory log from his body: it marks the location of the Feline Crossbow on your map.
tip
The Feline set requires level 17 to equip. If you're under that threshold, you can still collect all the diagrams now and craft the set when you hit the requirement. Craft it at the armorers in Crow's Perch, Novigrad, or Kaer Trolde.
Where are the Feline sword and crossbow diagrams?
After looting Kiyan, read Professor Sigismund Glogger's notes found in the chest with the crossbow diagram. Those notes point you to both sword locations. All three are in the Novigrad region.

Feline Crossbow
Board the wreck of the Flying Stag, a ship on a small island off the western Novigrad coast, west of Drahim Castle and Lucian's Windmill. The crossbow diagram is in a chest on the wreck.
Feline Steel Sword
Head to Drahim Castle's basement, just south of Novigrad's Glory Gate. Expect a group of bandits at the entrance before you can reach the diagram.
Feline Silver Sword
Travel to Est Tayiar, northeast of Oxenfurt and east of the Vegelbud Residence. As you enter the ruin, use Aard to destroy the wall on your right. The silver sword diagram is behind it.
How do you upgrade the Feline armor?
Upgrade diagrams don't come from exploration: you buy Adalbert Kermith's maps from specific merchants, and each map points you to the next tier's diagrams.
Enhanced: Buy Adalbert Kermith's first and second maps from the Blackbough merchant, west of Crow's Perch.
Superior: Buy Adalbert Kermith's third map from the Crow's Perch quartermaster.
Mastercrafted: Buy Adalbert Kermith's fourth map from the Lindenvale armorer, east of Crow's Perch.
For the grandmaster tier, you'll need to be in Toussaint (Blood and Wine DLC). Speak to Lazare Lafargue at his armor shop in southern Beauclair to trigger the 'Master Master Master Master!' quest, which leads you to the grandmaster diagrams.
warning
Don't skip buying the Adalbert Kermith maps in order. Each map unlocks the next tier's diagram locations, so jumping ahead won't work.
Is the Feline armor worth building around?
The Feline set suits fast-attack and sign-hybrid builds better than anything focused on taking hits. The passive that chains strong attacks into fast attack buffs rewards players who stay mobile and use dodges rather than relying on block. If you want something more defensive, the Ursine (Bear School) heavy set is the opposite end of the spectrum, and the Griffin (Griffin School) medium set is built around sign intensity. The Wolven set sits in the middle as a general-purpose option.
