Tides of Tomorrow launched on April 22, 2026, and its 39 achievements are a solid mix of story beats, faction grinding, collectible hunts, and a few genuinely missable choices. The full list is worth 1,000 Gamerscore on Xbox, and as of late April 2026, not a single player on TrueAchievements has completed it yet. That means this guide is built from the achievement descriptions themselves, cross-referenced across TrueAchievements and Exophase, so you know exactly what to watch for before you're too deep to turn back.

How many achievements are in Tides of Tomorrow?

There are exactly 39 achievements totaling 1,000 Gamerscore. The game is available on Xbox Series X|S (priced at $29.99) and GOG, and it is not currently on Xbox Game Pass or PC Game Pass according to TrueAchievements. The achievement list covers story progression, faction alignment, resource collection, ocean events, and a handful of quirky side activities.

Story achievements: what carries over automatically

The bulk of the list unlocks naturally if you follow the main quest to its conclusion. These are the story-tied achievements you can expect to pick up without any extra effort, provided you don't skip key scenes.

The Exophase description for A new dawn adds a pointed qualifier: "but was it the right one?" That phrasing strongly suggests the ending is not binary and that your choices throughout the game shape the outcome. Play through once with your preferred faction alignment, then consider a second run to see the alternative conclusion.

Which achievements are missable?

Several achievements require specific conditions that can be failed or bypassed entirely. These are the ones to plan around.

Cure them all: don't sacrifice the Matriarch

Cure them all requires you to make the Cure without sacrificing the Matriarch. This is the clearest example of a missable choice-based achievement in the game. If you go through the cure-crafting process and sacrifice the Matriarch to complete it, this achievement is gone for that playthrough.

Tidey!: keep Eyla alive

Tidey! unlocks for keeping a character named Eyla alive. Survival-based achievements tied to named NPCs almost always have a specific moment where they can die, so keep an eye on Eyla's status during any combat or high-stakes story segment.

Armistice: reunite Omulus and Raymus

Armistice requires reuniting two characters, Omulus and Raymus. Reconciliation achievements like this typically require you to meet certain relationship or dialogue conditions with both parties before a specific story window closes.

Faction rank achievements: which alignment should you prioritize?

Five separate achievements each require reaching the maximum rank in a different faction or playstyle alignment. You almost certainly cannot max all five in a single playthrough, which makes these the primary reason to replay the game.

Three of the faction-gathering achievements also tie into this system: The true Prophet (convince the mystics), After the storm (convince the reclaimers), and End of War (convince the marauder leader). Put one's differences aside and Cooperation is key both require gathering all communities and making everyone collaborate, which suggests a high cooperation or diplomacy run is the most achievement-dense single playthrough.

Collectible and grind achievements: what are the targets?

Several achievements have explicit numeric thresholds. Here's a breakdown of every tracked grind in the game.

The Bibliophile achievement is worth flagging early. Examining more than 100 written documents means you need to interact with every book, note, and inscription you find. Players who skip environmental storytelling will almost certainly fall short. Make it a habit from the first area.

I just saw a ghost requires scanning 30 asynchronous visions, which sounds like a mechanic tied to a specific tool or ability. Scan everything that triggers the prompt and you should hit 30 without actively farming.

Ocean event achievements: how do you unlock them all?

The ocean system has its own achievement cluster. Ocean's Lover requires completing all ocean events, and Piracy on the high seas specifically requires playing a boat fight ocean event. Setting sail (get a boat) is presumably an early unlock that gates all of these.

Get the boat as soon as it becomes available and start engaging with every ocean event you encounter. Skipping ocean content to rush the main story will leave Ocean's Lover unfinished.

Hidden and side activity achievements

A few achievements sit outside the main quest and faction systems entirely.

  • Duck hunter: Find all the hidden ducks (Exophase describes this as "obtain all the Ducks"). Classic collectible hunt. Ducks are almost certainly hidden in out-of-the-way spots across every area.
  • Mike Tidesone: Win the duel in the parlor. A specific combat or minigame challenge tied to a named location.
  • Pro Racer: Win a race. A racing minigame exists somewhere in the world.
  • Life in Plastic: The TrueAchievements description says "Faint a first time" while Exophase says "You met the mole." These may describe the same event from different angles, or the descriptions could refer to two different triggers. Worth noting as a potential inconsistency between tracking sites.
  • Starstruck and This one is better: Follow someone famous, then change who you are following. These two unlock in sequence and appear to involve a social or NPC-following mechanic.
  • My friend's friend is my friend: Pet a mereid. Mereids appear in multiple achievements (their eggs are collectible, you can pet them). Interact with them whenever you find them.
  • Crisis of faith: Convince Efod to help you. Another persuasion-based achievement tied to a specific character.

Based on the achievement structure, a two-playthrough approach makes the most sense.

Playthrough 1: Focus on a cooperation or diplomacy build. Aim for Cooperative Tidewalker, Put one's differences aside, and Cooperation is key. Keep Eyla alive (Tidey!), don't sacrifice the Matriarch (Cure them all), reunite Omulus and Raymus (Armistice), and convince Efod (Crisis of faith). Read every document (Bibliophile), scan every vision (I just saw a ghost), collect mereid eggs (Time for a good omelet), and grind scraps (Another man's trash). Complete all ocean events including a boat fight.

Playthrough 2 and beyond: Mop up the remaining four faction max-rank achievements (Protector of Nature, I am a hero!, Everything for Ozen, Where is the party?) across additional runs. Pick up any missed story variants like the alternate A new dawn ending.
