Riot Games dropped the reveal everyone expected at the worst possible time to ignore it: the Champions 2026 Grand Final in Shanghai. With LOUD lifting the trophy on one side of the feed, Hush was already stealing attention on the other. She's Valorant's ninth Duelist, a telekinetic agent from Guangdong, China, and she goes live on October 27 in the Americas and October 28 everywhere else as part of the Season 2026 Act VI update.

What is Hush's release date and how do you unlock her?

Here's the short answer: October 27, 2026 for North America, Latin America, and Brazil. Every other region gets her on October 28, following the standard Riot regional rollout. The patch carries the full Season 2026 Act VI update, so expect a new battle pass and map rotation on the same day.

DetailInfo
Reveal eventVCT Champions Shanghai, October 18
Americas releaseTuesday, October 27
All other regionsWednesday, October 28
RoleDuelist (9th in the roster)
OriginGuangdong, China
Agent numberAgent 31 (30th playable agent)
Free unlock XP200,000 XP via recruitment event
VP cost1,000 VP (standard agent price)

Hush is officially Agent 31, but she's only the 30th playable agent. Riot still counts the mysterious Agent 8, who has never been made available. She's also the third Chinese agent on the roster, following Sage from Xi'an and Iso from Chongqing.

How to unlock Hush

  • Free recruitment event: Earn 200,000 XP in eligible modes during the limited event after launch. This is the smart route for most players.
  • VALORANT Points: Buy her instantly for 1,000 VP once she goes live. Verify the price shown in your client before purchasing.
  • Kingdom Credits: Available after the recruitment event ends at a price Riot will set.
  • Xbox Game Pass: Linking an active Game Pass subscription grants access to all agents while the subscription is active. This is not a permanent unlock.

Hush is also the first agent to launch with an Agent Mastery reward track, a dedicated progression system that fills as you play her and unlocks cosmetics along the way.

What are all of Hush's abilities?

Riot revealed her full kit alongside the cinematic trailer titled "Rise and Fall," which plays over the original track "It's You" by Karencici. Every ability in her kit either moves objects, moves enemies, or moves Hush herself.

KeyAbilityFunction
PassiveTelekinesisInteract with weapons, the Spike, and switches from extended range. Objects glow when the passive is ready.
CFlowPlaces an anchor, then propels Hush toward it after a short delay. Used mid-air, she hovers briefly before moving.
QFlashbulbA guided flash projectile. Can be thrown or prepped and redirected toward your crosshair. Pops on a surface or after a delay.
E (Signature)DisplacementPulls nearby players to its center on detonation. Anyone slammed into a surface or another player is concussed. Refreshes every two kills.
X (Ultimate)SuspensionAn orb steered with the crosshair. Reactivating detonates it and levitates every player caught inside, leaving them exposed.

How does Flow compare to other Duelist movement tools?

Flow is not a panic button. The short delay before Hush launches toward her anchor means enemies get a brief window to react, which makes it a worse emergency escape than Jett's instant Tailwind. The tradeoff is reach: placing the anchor mid-air lets Hush access heights and off-angles that ground-level dashes cannot.

AgentAbilityKey difference
HushFlowAnchor-based, delayed launch, works mid-air for off-angles
JettTailwindInstant dash in movement direction, best panic escape
NeonHigh GearSprint with a slide, sustained speed over distance
YoruGatecrashTeleports to a placed marker, works through walls

The closest comparison is Yoru's Gatecrash, but Flow is faster to execute and doesn't require a fake-out setup. The delay is the cost. Plan your repositions before the fight, not during it.

How will Hush play in ranked?

Hush rewards planning over raw aim. Her kit is built around breaking enemy positions rather than trading her own life. A few patterns that should show up early:

  • Curve flashes into tight spaces. A prepped Flashbulb sticks to a surface and fires from there, not from your body. This makes it effective in angles where a standard flash would just pop into open air.
  • Use walls as weapons. Displacement concusses enemies who slam into a surface, so tight corridors and box clusters amplify its value significantly.
  • Keep Displacement rolling. The signature refreshes every two kills. A strong opening duel keeps your utility active for the whole round.
  • Steal economy on eco rounds. Telekinesis lets you grab a dropped rifle or Operator without stepping into a lethal angle. One passive interaction can flip a round.
  • Call Suspension before a team swing. Levitated enemies are exposed, but your team still has to shoot them. Coordinate the detonation with a full push to get the most out of it.

The mistake most players make with new Duelists is picking them in ranked on day one without any reps. Hush's kit punishes that more than most because misused Displacement just pulls enemies into better cover.

What team compositions work with Hush?

Her kit pairs well with agents who can confirm kills on displaced or levitated targets:

  • Displacement plus recon: Pair her with Sova or Fade. Once a Dart or Haunt reveals an enemy, Hush can pull them out of their corner for a clean trade.
  • Post-plant Suspension: Suspension lifts defenders off the Spike during a retake, buying your team several seconds to protect the plant.
  • Flow to off-angles, Flashbulb to force duels: Set the anchor above a box or ledge, launch up, and pop a flash downward into the site as you arrive. Defenders will struggle to track both the flash source and your landing position.

What did the pre-release leaks get right about Hush?

Leaks for Agent 31 circulated for weeks before the Champions reveal. Now that the kit is confirmed, it's worth checking the record.

Pre-release claimVerdict
Duelist roleCorrect
Origin from ChinaCorrect
A unique dash mechanicCorrect (Flow)
Release before NovemberCorrect (October 27)
Signature invisibilityWrong, no invisibility in her kit
Copies ally abilities or has two ultimatesWrong, one fixed ultimate (Suspension)
Reveal on October 17Off by one day (revealed October 18)

The pattern is straightforward. Specific, boring details like role and origin came from reliable sources and held up. The dramatic claims, invisibility, copied abilities, and a split ultimate that changed between attack and defense, all collapsed once Riot showed the real kit. Apply that filter to the next agent cycle.

Hush lore: what's the Sage connection?

Hush comes from Guangdong, China, making her the third Chinese agent after Sage (Xi'an) and Iso (Chongqing). Riot chose Champions Shanghai as her reveal stage deliberately. Before the official reveal, lore-focused observers flagged a green orb necklace in early teasers that closely resembles the orbs Sage uses.

Riot has not confirmed any direct story link between Hush and Sage. Recent cinematics do show Sage dealing with crystallization, and Miks, the Controller who joined earlier in 2026, already carries hints tied to her arc. A telekinetic agent from China with a Sage-like orb would continue that thread. Check her voice lines after release. Agent lore in Valorant almost always surfaces there first.

Frequently asked questions

When does Hush go live? October 27 in North America, Latin America, and Brazil. October 28 in Europe, Asia Pacific, Korea, and all other regions.

How much does Hush cost? New agents are typically priced at 1,000 VP. Riot has not officially published her VP cost yet, so verify the price in your client on patch day.

Can I unlock Hush for free? Yes. Earn 200,000 XP during her recruitment event in eligible modes after she launches. Starting on day one and completing missions daily is the fastest route.

Why is she called Agent 31 if she's the 30th playable agent? Riot still counts Agent 8 in the official numbering, even though that agent has never been made playable. Hush carries number 31 but brings the active roster to 30.

Is Veto a hard counter to Hush? Early community discussion suggested that Veto's Interceptor ability can answer all four of Hush's active abilities. That claim hasn't been tested in live matches yet. If it holds, Hush will have a clear check on day one. For a full breakdown of Veto's kit and how Interceptor works, the Veto agent guide covers everything.

What's the best way to learn Hush quickly? Run her in unrated for at least 10 matches before bringing her to ranked. Focus on Flashbulb angles and Displacement wall setups first, since those two abilities have the steepest learning curve. Flow and Suspension are more forgiving to learn under pressure.
