Digital Extremes revealed the wolven queen's Prime variant at their PAX East panel, confirming an April 8 launch across every platform Warframe runs on. That's PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, iOS, and Android. She's the first fully quadrupedal Warframe to receive a Prime variant, which already makes her worth paying attention to.
What makes Voruna Prime different from base Voruna?
The base Voruna runs on two legs like every other Warframe. Her Prime form drops to all fours, making her the only quadrupedal Prime in the game's history. According to Digital Extremes, this isn't just a cosmetic change in how she carries herself. The Prime trailer (rated Red Band, with a gore warning attached) leans hard into the feral predator identity. She still carries her core kit: status-inflicting fang attacks, Lycath summoning, and a long-range lock-on pounce. How do you get Voruna Prime for free?
You don't need to spend anything. Void Relics containing Voruna Prime and her signature weapons drop through normal gameplay. Crack enough relics and you'll assemble her without touching the store. This has been Digital Extremes' model for years, and Voruna Prime follows the same pattern.
The catch is time and RNG. Prime Access packs exist for players who want instant access or want the exclusive accessories, which are not available through Void Relics. The boosters and cosmetics like the Okuri Tails Prime Ephemera are pack-exclusive.

What else was announced at PAX East?
The Voruna Prime reveal wasn't the only thing Digital Extremes brought to Boston. The panel also teased:
- Dante and Baruuk deluxe cosmetic skins, coming in a future summer update (currently untitled)
- A new Mesa Heirloom skin, continuing the premium Heirloom cosmetic line
- A preview of Soulframe content including the Duelo Pact and a Wolf Mount feature
Community Director Megan Everett confirmed the team views these in-person panels as a key part of connecting with the player base, and the PAX East showing included live challenges with guests Nick Apostolides (known from Warframe: 1999) and Rocco Botte from Mega64.

Is Voruna Prime worth getting?
If you already play Voruna, the Prime version is a direct upgrade with better weapons and the quadrupedal movement overhaul that makes her feel genuinely different to run. If you've never touched Voruna, the Prime Access window is the time to start, since the accessories pack boosters will accelerate whatever you're grinding in parallel.
For players who prefer farming, the Void Relic route works fine. Just accept that the cosmetic exclusives stay locked to the pack. The 90-day boosters in particular are hard to replicate through normal play, so weigh that against the cost before deciding.
