Narin's signature dual pistols hit hard and freeze harder. The Aksondol deal equal parts Cold and Puncture Damage from an 8-round semi-auto magazine, and every reload triggers a chilling pulse that applies Cold Status to nearby enemies. That reload mechanic is what separates this weapon from every other secondary in Warframe right now, and it opens up build directions most pistols simply can't take.
What are the Aksondol's base stats?
Before slotting any mods, the Aksondol sits at 24% Critical Chance and a 2.6x Critical Damage multiplier, with 22% Status Chance and 140 total damage per shot split evenly between Cold and Puncture (70 each). Fire rate is 4, accuracy is very high, and the reload takes 2.6 seconds. That combination of solid crit stats and meaningful status chance is exactly why the weapon supports multiple build directions without feeling forced into one.

The Chilling Pulse unique trait deserves a closer look before touching the mod screen. Each round replaced during a reload adds one stack of Cold Status to nearby enemies and expands the pulse radius by 1 meter. Fire most of your magazine before reloading and you can push that radius out significantly, hitting groups you never aimed at. That mechanic rewards deliberate ammo management rather than panic reloading.
How to get the Aksondol
The Aksondol blueprint and all three component blueprints (Barrel, Receiver, and Link) come from Cephalon Melica, purchased with Entropic Kuva. All four blueprints together cost 320 Entropic Kuva total. Entropic Kuva drops from Entropic Eximus enemies aboard the Zariman, so you'll need to complete the Angels of the Zariman quest before any of this is accessible. After that, Melica can be found in the Chrysalith or at Yuvan Peak on Earth.
Crafting requirements across all components include materials like Polymer Bundle, Entrati Lanthorn, Cryotic, Rubedo, Voidgel Orb, Neurodes, Thrax Plasm, Nano Spores, and Ferrite, plus 45,000 Credits total across all four builds. None of these are particularly rare post-Zariman, so the Entropic Kuva grind is the real bottleneck.

The four Aksondol builds explained
Critical build: when you want bigger numbers
The Critical Build leans into the Aksondol's 24% base crit chance and 2.6x multiplier, stacking mods to push both values high enough that most shots hit hard. Primed Target Cracker handles the Critical Damage side, while Creeping Bullseye pushes Critical Chance further. Accelerated Isotope adds Radiation Damage and improves Fire Rate, which matters on a semi-auto that benefits from faster follow-up shots.
Elemental coverage comes from Deep Freeze and Pathogen Rounds to build Viral, though you can swap those two slots freely depending on the faction you're farming. Hornet Strike, Galvanized Diffusion, and Lethal Torrent round out the damage and multishot foundation.

Status build: 92.4% status chance and what to do with it
Pushing the Aksondol to 92.4% Status Chance means virtually every shot applies an elemental proc. Jolt, Scorch, Pistol Pestilence, and Frostbite each contribute both elemental damage and Status Chance, combining into Radiation and Viral with this specific configuration. Galvanized Shot then scales off the Status Effects accumulating on targets, so the longer a fight goes the harder each shot hits.
Galvanized Diffusion and Lethal Torrent keep multishot high so more pellets proc status per trigger pull. This build pairs particularly well with Narin since the Aksondol's natural Cold output feeds into her ability kit.

Hybrid build: flexibility for general content
The Hybrid Build splits investment between Critical and Status rather than maxing either. Critical mods improve damage on hits that do crit, while elemental and Status mods keep procs applying consistently. The practical benefit is that the elemental combination stays easy to adjust for different factions without rebuilding from scratch.
This is the build to start with if you're still learning what content you'll use the Aksondol in most. Once you know whether you're running it against armored Steel Path enemies or softer Infested content, you can shift toward the dedicated Critical or Status version.

Chilling Pulse build: making the unique trait the whole point
This is the most specialized setup and the most fun to play around. The goal is to increase Magazine Capacity so each reload replaces more rounds, which means more Cold Status stacks and a larger pulse radius per reload cycle. Ice Storm and Tainted Clip both expand the magazine, while Pressurized Magazine adds more capacity and a Fire Rate bonus.
Lethal Torrent and Gunslinger push Fire Rate further so you empty the bigger magazine quickly, and Primed Quickdraw cuts reload time so the pulse triggers more often. Pistol Elementalist enhances the Cold element output. Hornet Strike keeps base damage from falling off.

Build comparison at a glance
Which Aksondol build should you run?
For most content, the Status Build is the strongest all-rounder. Getting to 92.4% Status Chance with Galvanized Shot scaling means the weapon gets better the longer enemies stay alive, which describes most Steel Path encounters. The Critical Build is easier to mod into early and still performs well once you have Primed Target Cracker.
The Chilling Pulse Build is worth running specifically when you're playing Narin. Her abilities generate Sangodae pickups and restore Shields through Cold Status interactions, so stacking Cold procs from both her kit and the Aksondol's reload mechanic creates a loop that keeps you tanky while dealing damage. Outside of Narin, it's a niche pick.
