The Murto boss fight in 007 First Light is one of the game's most distinct encounters because Bond enters the arena completely unarmed. No gun, no fists that do anything useful. Just a storage room full of environmental hazards and a very angry assassin who can drop you in two shots. The good news: the room is loaded with tools if you know where to look.
What makes the Murto fight different from normal combat?
Murto has 3 health bars, and none of them can be chipped away through direct attacks. Every single bar must be removed by triggering a specific environmental hazard while Murto stands close enough to take the hit. The fight plays out like an elaborate game of positioning and patience, closer to a stealth puzzle than a traditional boss encounter.
Before getting into the specific traps, two things to keep in mind:
- You cannot damage Murto with your fists. Trying to brawl will waste time and expose you.
- Murto kills you in two shots. Staying behind cover is not optional, it is survival.
Murto has a wide detection radius. Stepping into his line of sight even briefly will send him charging toward you. Break contact immediately by moving to a different section of the room and staying still until he loses track.

How to deplete Murto's first health bar
The fastest opportunity comes right at the start of the fight. As the encounter begins, Murto moves toward the center of the warehouse and passes near the Floodlights. If you act quickly, select the Blind hack option when he walks by them. Landing this removes his first full health bar without any repositioning required.
Alternatively, if you brought the Laser Strap or Dart Phone gadget, look to your right and up at the chandelier the moment the fight starts. Wait for Murto to walk underneath it, then fire the gadget at it to drop it on him. This also strips one full health bar cleanly.
How to deplete Murto's second health bar
With the first bar gone, you need to set up the Cargo Lifts on the ground. When Murto walks across one, activating it will electrocute him and destroy another full health bar. The key detail here is distance: trigger it from cover, not while standing nearby, or you risk taking the damage yourself.
Murto will naturally patrol toward your position over time, which often routes him directly over a Cargo Lift without any prompting. If you want to speed this up, press up on the D-pad to use the Lure option and pull him toward a specific area.
After the Cargo Lift hits Murto once, he adapts. He will start shooting and destroying any Cargo Lift he approaches, so you only get one use out of this trap. Do not waste it.

How to deplete Murto's third health bar
At this point Murto is down to his final bar and has already neutralized the Cargo Lifts. The Chandelier is the most reliable finishing tool. Lure Murto into a corner of the room where a chandelier hangs overhead, wait for him to position underneath it, then drop it. This removes the last health bar.
If you do not have the Laser Strap or Dart Phone, the room also contains two large fire-spewing lights on the left side past a gap in the shelves. Hack one when Murto stands in front of it to deal damage. Two of these lights are available, so if he moves away from the first, reposition and wait for the second.

What happens after you beat Murto?
Once all 3 health bars are gone, rush toward Murto to trigger a cutscene. The sequence ends with Bond finishing the fight decisively, and there are no additional phases or surprise combat sections after it.
After the cutscene, do not leave the area immediately. Run into the open room on the right, outside the storage room. A box in the back right corner contains the Restoration Room Keycard. Use it on the door directly across from you to find the Tero Murto Locket memento on a table inside.
Tips for staying alive during the fight
- Keep moving between traps. Murto actively scours the room between each hit and will close ground fast.
- Watch for motion sensors on the floor as you reposition. Walking in front of one triggers a red flash and sends Murto directly to your location.
- If Murto spots you, do not try to outrun him across the room. Cut around a shelf or into a different section and go still.
- Use the Lure option proactively rather than waiting for Murto to naturally wander into position. The room is large enough that passive waiting can drag the fight out significantly.
