Arc Raiders Guide: How to Complete Controlled Access Zone Button Puzzle

Arc Raiders is mostly about surviving raids, fighting ARC machines, and extracting with loot. But on Dam Battlegrounds, players can also find one of the more involved puzzles in the game. The Controlled Access Zone button puzzle locks a high-value loot room behind a coordinated team mechanic and a material requirement.

Here is a straightforward breakdown of where to find it and how to complete it.

Controlled Access Zone Location

The Controlled Access Zone is located on the Dam Battlegrounds map. It is considered a high-value loot area and was added as part of the Dam updates. The zone has multiple entry points, including upper routes through damaged sections, side paths near the dam structure, and lower walkways underneath.

Inside, players will eventually reach a large interior section. Deeper in the area, there is a secured door marked by four indicator lights above it. This is the door tied to the button puzzle and the hidden loot room.

What You Need Before Starting

This puzzle is not something a solo player can complete.

First, it requires four raiders. All four buttons must be pressed at the same time, so a full squad is mandatory.

Second, players will need specific materials to fully unlock the loot room after the buttons are activated:

  • 12x Metal Parts

  • 1x Industrial Battery

  • 1x Fuel Cell

Metal Parts and the Industrial Battery are used to repair a control panel after the first door opens. The Fuel Cell is used earlier in the process to unlock a sealed room inside the zone.

Bringing the Metal Parts and Industrial Battery into the raid is recommended to avoid wasting time searching under pressure.

How the Button Puzzle Works

The Controlled Access Zone contains four buttons scattered around the interior. Their exact spawn positions can vary between raids, so players should sweep stairways, platforms, and pipe-lined areas to locate all four.

One important step involves a locked room inside the zone. To open it, players must find a Fuel Cell and insert it into a nearby access point. Once powered, the locked room opens and grants access to part of the puzzle setup.

After all four buttons are located, assign one raider per button. Communication is important here. All four players must press their buttons at the exact same time. If the timing is off, the door will not open.

When done correctly, the first secured door unlocks.

Final Step: Repair the Panel

Opening the button door is not the end. Inside, there is a control panel that must be repaired to access the actual loot room.

Players must deposit:

  • 12 Metal Parts

  • 1 Industrial Battery

Once the materials are inserted, the system powers up and the final loot room opens.

At that point, cooperation usually ends. The room contains multiple containers and weapon cases, making it one of the better loot spots on Dam Battlegrounds. Be ready for possible betrayals or third-party fights, especially since the noise and delay can attract other raiders.

Quick Tips for a Clean Run

The Controlled Access Zone puzzle is easier when handled efficiently. Move as a group, clear enemies first, and locate all four buttons before attempting the synchronized press. Bring the required materials ahead of time to avoid stalling inside the zone.

Because this is a high-traffic loot location, staying too long increases the risk of running into other squads. Once the room is open and looted, plan your extraction route immediately.

That is everything needed to solve the Controlled Access Zone button puzzle in Arc Raiders and secure one of the more rewarding rooms on Dam Battlegrounds.
