The best place to find Olives in ARC Raiders is Olive Grove, in southern Blue Gate. Search beneath its Olive Trees, then interact with trees that offer a prompt to kick more fruit onto the ground. You need 6 Olives for Scrappy Level 4, and an untouched grove can provide enough in one raid. Getting there is straightforward. Keeping your haul is the harder part, because ARC patrols and other Raiders make this a farming spot where lingering gets expensive.
Update context: Frozen Trail. Check World Modifiers before queuing, since active events affect your farming options.
What should you bring for an Olive farming run?
Use a custom loadout with an augment that provides Safe Pockets. Move collected Olives into your Safe Pocket immediately, because protected items survive even if you are eliminated before extraction.
A free loadout lacks a Safe Pocket. For an Olive-focused trip, that makes it a poor choice: you can reach the correct trees, gather the fruit, and still lose your upgrade progress to one ambush.

Olives secured in a Safe Pocket
Keep the purpose of this Blue Gate run narrow. Collecting Olives and leaving promptly reduces your time around a heavily contested resource spot; fighting over unrelated loot does the opposite.
Where should you search around Olive Grove?
Open your map on Blue Gate and locate Olive Grove in the southern region. The trees extend beyond the named landmark, so searching only the ground directly beneath the map label leaves part of the farming area untouched.

Blue Gate's southern Olive Grove
Which nearby landmarks have Olive Trees?
Sweep the grove and its surrounding buildings, roadsides, grassy ledges, and cliff edges. Useful places to check include:
- Trees opposite the greenhouse filled with fertilizer.
- Grassy ledges beside buildings with brick walls.
- The area south of the old shed.
- Trees near basement ladder locations.
Treat these as search landmarks rather than guaranteed drops. Other Raiders can harvest the same trees before you arrive, and fruit availability varies between runs.
What makes Olive Grove dangerous?
Wasps, Hornets, and Rocketeers patrol the area, while Leapers occasionally pass through. Player ambushes are another problem, with hideouts and elevated positions overlooking the farming area.
The nearby Ancient Fort rooftops are a known sniper position. Check those elevated sightlines as you approach, and avoid standing beneath an Olive Tree longer than the collection requires.
How do you collect Olives from trees?
Look for Olive Trees with broad, dark green crowns and gnarled trunks. The fruit beneath them blends into the vegetation, but a white interaction circle appears when you approach a pickup.
Use the same collection routine at each tree:
- Check the ground around the trunk for loose Olives.
- Approach the tree and look for an interaction prompt.
- Interact to kick the tree if the prompt appears.
- Collect the fallen fruit before moving to the next tree.
Not every Olive Tree supports the kick interaction. Ground clusters can contain 1 to 4 Olives, but neither an interaction nor a particular tree guarantees that you will finish your entire collection there.
If Olive Grove has already been stripped, leave with whatever you found and try another raid. Spawns refresh between rounds, making another short visit more productive than repeatedly checking empty trees.
How many Olives do you need for Scrappy?
Upgrading Scrappy from Level 3 to Level 4 requires the following items:
| Required item | Quantity | Where to focus your search |
|---|---|---|
| Olives | 6 | Olive Grove on Blue Gate |
| Prickly Pears | 6 | Cactus plants along southern Buried City |
| Cat Bed | 1 | Keep one for the upgrade |
The Level 4 upgrade improves the materials Scrappy brings back between raids. Reserve the required 6 Olives before consuming or breaking down any extras.

Scrappy's Level 4 fruit requirements
If you are still preparing the previous upgrade, use our Lemons and Apricots farming guide. Scrappy Level 3 needs 3 Lemons and 3 Apricots, so those belong on a different shopping list than your Level 4 Olives.
Should you consume or recycle spare Olives?
Olives weigh 0.2 kg each and stack to 10. Their immediate use is stamina recovery, but recycling and salvaging produce different amounts of Assorted Seeds.
| Use | Result per Olive | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Consume | Restores 20 Stamina with a 1-second use time | An immediate stamina top-up |
| Recycle | Produces 2 Assorted Seeds | Turning surplus fruit into seeds |
| Salvage | Produces 1 Assorted Seed | Accepting a lower seed return |
| Reserve for Scrappy | Contributes toward the 6-Olive requirement | Players preparing Level 4 |
Recycling gives twice the seeds of salvaging. Even so, keeping your first 6 Olives for Scrappy is the better progression choice, because finding replacements means another trip into a contested area.
Can you find Olives outside Blue Gate?
Yes. Lush Blooms creates a useful alternative by increasing Nature loot and adding Wicker Baskets around camps and Nature areas. These baskets can contain Olives alongside other fruit and vegetables.
Lush Blooms lasts 45 minutes and can appear on any map. On Dam Battlegrounds, search the Hydroponic area, especially baskets inside the domes. Basket hunting spreads your search beyond the single Olive Grove hotspot, although the contents are random.
Which alternative locations are worth checking?
| Location or method | What to search | Why choose it? | Main limitation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Blue Gate, Olive Grove | Olive Trees and ground pickups | Best focused Olive farming destination | ARC patrols and competing Raiders |
| Dam Battlegrounds during Lush Blooms | Wicker Baskets in Hydroponic domes | Collect assorted Nature resources without relying on the grove | Random basket contents |
| Riven Tides, Dried Riverbed | Nature patches | Another place to check while on that map | Less established as a dedicated Olive route |
| Riven Tides during Beachcombing | Beachcombing dig spots | An event-dependent way to obtain Olives | Requires the relevant condition |
| Pendola Pass, Frozen River | Nature patches | A secondary option while visiting Pendola Pass | Fewer established Olive locations |
For a dedicated Olive run, Blue Gate remains the strongest recommendation because you can target the trees directly. If Lush Blooms is active elsewhere, baskets become more appealing, especially when you also need Prickly Pears or other Nature resources.
Cold Snap brings damaging cold and ripe Candleberries. For that event's fruit, use our Candleberry farming locations to plan a separate gathering run.
Common mistakes
- Checking only the Olive Grove map label: Trees also appear around nearby buildings, ledges, roadsides, and cliff edges.
- Leaving fruit unsecured: Put Olives into your Safe Pocket as you collect them, rather than waiting until the end of the route.
- Expecting every tree to be kickable: Check for the interaction prompt, then move on if none appears.
- Using your upgrade fruit for stamina: A 20-Stamina recovery costs one Olive you may still need for Scrappy Level 4.
- Treating Lush Blooms baskets as guaranteed Olives: They contain assorted Nature loot, so an individual basket may hold something else.
Pro tips
Combine nearby quests only when it suits your run
With a Trace, A First Foothold, and Reduced to Rubble have objectives in or near the Olive Grove area. Combining an existing quest visit with a tree sweep can save a separate trip, making this best for players already working through those objectives.
Count secured Olives, not just collected Olives
Your Scrappy target is 6 Olives, and Safe Pocket protection is what preserves that progress through an elimination. Check where the fruit is stored before deciding that the farming job is finished.
Frequently asked questions
Can you get all 6 Olives in one raid?
Yes. An untouched Olive Grove can provide 6 or more Olives in one visit. Other players may reach the trees first, so be ready to finish the requirement across multiple raids.
Why can you see an Olive Tree but not kick it?
Not every Olive Tree is interactable. Check beneath it for loose Olives, then continue to another tree if no interaction prompt appears.
Do Olives survive if you die?
Olives placed in a Safe Pocket remain protected when you are eliminated. A free loadout does not provide that protection, and Olives left in your backpack can be lost.
Should you leave after collecting enough Olives?
If Scrappy Level 4 is the purpose of your raid, securing the remaining Olives is your cue to leave. Use our ARC Raiders extraction guide to plan your exit instead of adding another loot detour.
