The diving suit in Crimson Desert is a Charting the Unknown pre-order reward, and the helm and chest armor are the pieces you want first. Each adds 120 maximum breathing, and their bonuses stack, giving you almost 5 minutes underwater before you need to resurface. The full Charter's Diving Outfit also includes gloves and boots with swimming bonuses. You claim the reward through the pause menu, so start there if the gear hasn't reached your inventory.

Which diving suit pieces should you equip?

The Charter's Diving Set has four pieces, but they serve different purposes. The helm and suit extend your breathing time. The gloves and boots improve swimming speed, making them secondary picks if staying underwater longer is your main goal.

Equipment slotPieceMaximum breathing bonusSwim-speed effect
HeadgearCharter's Diving Helm+120None
Chest armorCharter's Diving Suit+120None
GlovesCharter's Diving GlovesNone2% swim speed multiplier
FootwearCharter's Diving BootsNone2% swim speed multiplier

Wearing both Charter's Diving Helm and Charter's Diving Suit gives you a combined increase of 240 maximum breathing. You can get those breathing benefits without wearing the gloves and boots, so prioritize the headgear and chest slots when preparing for a longer dive.

If you're collecting more outfits after the Charter's Diving Set, the Riding Outfit guide gives you another equipment checklist to work through.

How do you claim the diving suit?

The Charter's Diving Outfit is included in the Charting the Unknown DLC pre-order bonus. In the reward menu, look for Pre-order Exclusive Bonus to find the outfit.

Claim the outfit through the pause menu

  • Open the pause menu with your controller's Start or Options button.
  • Select Others.
  • Open Add-ons.
  • Select Pre-order Exclusive Bonus and claim the Charter's Diving Outfit.
  • Check your inventory for the helm, suit, gloves, and boots.

What if the suit isn't in your inventory?

The Charter's Diving Suit can arrive in your inventory automatically, so check there before trying to claim it again. If it's missing, also check Receivable Items in the menu and claim the reward there if it appears.

What stats does Charter's Diving Suit have?

The Charter's Diving Suit is the chest armor piece, rather than the name of every item in the outfit. It has 38 DEF and the maximum-breathing effect, with no Abyss Gear included.

ATK0
Attack speed0
Movement speed0

Abyss GearNone

The Charter's Diving Suit earns its place in a diving loadout through its breathing effect, not attack or elemental resistance bonuses. For a separate armor collection afterward, follow the Scorchflame armor set guide.

How should you prepare your diving loadout?

Before entering the water with Kliff, check that both Charter's Diving Helm and Charter's Diving Suit are equipped. Their breathing bonuses come from separate items, so wearing only the chest piece leaves out the helm's additional 120 maximum breathing.

Add Charter's Diving Gloves and Charter's Diving Boots if you want their individual 2% swim-speed modifiers too. Recheck the equipment tooltips after updates in case those effects change.

Once your Charter's Diving Outfit is claimed and equipped, use the Crimson Desert guide collection to choose your next equipment or exploration goal.
