The Battle of the Coaches quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley pits Phil against Mushu in a coaching rivalry, and Hercules pulls you right into the middle of it. One trial asks you to cook the Ravenous Boar's preferred meal, which sounds vague until you realize the Ravenous Boar is Pumbaa. The dish he wants is a Lobster Roll, and no substitutions will register for this quest step.
Who is the Ravenous Boar?
Pumbaa is the only boar in the valley, so the identity check is straightforward once you know to look for it. What throws players off is the food choice. Pumbaa is usually associated with bug-based dishes, so a seafood entrée feels like a mismatch. For this specific quest trial, though, the Lobster Roll is the only meal the game accepts. Handing him anything else wastes ingredients and leaves the trial incomplete.

Battle of the Coaches quest step
What is the Ravenous Boar's preferred meal?
The answer is a Lobster Roll, a five-star entrée that requires exactly five named ingredients. Unlike most recipes in the game that accept any item within a category (any fish, any vegetable, any spice), this one locks every slot to a specific ingredient. Swap one out and you get a different dish entirely, which the quest will not count.
The Lobster Roll is also worth 1,900 Star Coins and restores 4,928 energy, so it's a useful item to have regardless of the quest.
Lobster Roll ingredients and where to find them
| Ingredient | How to get it |
|---|---|
| Lobster | Fish from orange ripple spots in the Glade of Trust |
| Wheat | Grow from Wheat Seeds bought at Goofy's stall in Peaceful Meadow or Ancient's Landing |
| Lemon | Forage from Lemon Trees in the Forest of Valor or Glade of Trust (6 trees total, moveable) |
| Butter | Buy from the pantry at Chez Remy or Tiana's Palace |
| Garlic | Forage in the wild around the Forest of Valor, Wild Tangle, or Everafter |
Lobster is the ingredient that slows most players down. It only appears in the orange fishing rings in the Glade of Trust, and those rings show up less frequently than standard ones. Craft Miracle Fishing Bait and attach it to your rod to force a marked fishing spot, then cast there to target the orange rings more reliably.
How to cook the Lobster Roll
- Collect Lobster, Wheat, Lemon, Butter, and Garlic, plus at least one Coal Ore to fuel the stove.
- Walk to any cooking station. The starter stove in your house works, as do the stoves at Chez Remy and Tiana's Palace.
- Drop all five ingredients into the cooking pot and start cooking.
- Confirm the result reads Lobster Roll by name. If it shows a generic seafood dish, one ingredient is wrong.

All five ingredients in the pot
If you cook at Chez Remy, Remy's reaction is a useful visual confirmation. A correct combination keeps him calm. A wrong one and he looks worried, signaling the recipe is off.
How to complete the trial
Once you have the finished Lobster Roll, hand it to Pumbaa. That clears the cooking trial and advances the Battle of the Coaches quest to the next step. The whole process is fast once Lobster is in your inventory. The other four ingredients are easier to stockpile in bulk, so Lobster availability is the real timer here.
