The Honeyglow Woods expansion for Disney Dreamlight Valley kicks off with one of the shortest quests in the game, but also one of the most important. Prologue: Childhood Treasures is the gateway to everything that follows, including Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore, and Piglet. Miss a step here and you won't get past the front door. Fortunately, the whole thing takes under five minutes once you know what to do.
What is the Prologue: Childhood Treasures quest?
This is the opening mission of the Honeyglow Woods questline, triggered automatically after you purchase and download the expansion. It exists to hand you the Tree Sprout furniture item, which grows into the magical portal tree that connects your Valley to Honeyglow Woods. Think of it as the DLC's loading screen, except you actually have to do something.
How to complete Prologue: Childhood Treasures

Place the Tree Sprout anywhere
Step 1: Check your mailbox
After downloading the Honeyglow Woods expansion, head straight to your mailbox. You'll find a letter titled "A VERY IMPORTANT PARCEL!!!" The sender is unsigned, but the letter promises you'll remember once you interact with what's inside. Attached to the letter is the Childhood Treasure Box, which goes directly into your inventory.
Step 2: Open the Childhood Treasure Box
Open your inventory and interact with the Childhood Treasure Box. This gives you the Tree Sprout, a furniture item rather than a plantable seed. That distinction matters, and it's the source of most player confusion with this quest.
Step 3: Place the Tree Sprout using Furniture Mode
Enter Furniture Mode and place the Tree Sprout anywhere in your Valley. Location doesn't matter at all, so don't stress over placement. Once placed, the tree grows automatically and a cutscene plays, revealing the glowing portal inside the fully grown tree.
Step 4: Walk through the glowing portal
Approach the fully grown tree and walk through the glowing portal inside it. This teleports you directly into Honeyglow Woods and immediately triggers the next quest, Chapter 1: All You Need Is Honey, where you'll officially meet Winnie the Pooh for the first time.

The Honeyglow Woods Tree Portal
Do you need to wait for the tree to grow?
No. This trips up a lot of players who expect the Tree Sprout to behave like a crop or plant. Because it's classified as a furniture item, it bypasses all normal growth mechanics. The moment you place it in Furniture Mode, the growth cutscene plays and the portal is immediately accessible. There's no timer, no watering cycle, and no waiting period.
What comes next after the Prologue?
Completing this quest drops you straight into the Honeyglow Woods questline. Chapter 1: All You Need Is Honey is where the real story begins, and it's where Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore, and Piglet start filling out the new biome. The Prologue is deliberately brief so you get into the good stuff fast.

If you enjoy story-driven adventure games with layered quests, there's no shortage of content waiting on the other side of that portal.
