EA Sports FC 27 opens its first major Ultimate Team promo with a two-squad Destined for Glory campaign, and Team 2 drops on Friday, October 2, 2026 at 6 PM BST. Erling Haaland leads the lineup at 91 ST, but his card starts at the exact same overall as his gold. The players worth watching are further down the list, where Robin Gosens and Charlie Cresswell received +7 boosts over their base cards, and Weston McKennie, Mateus Fernandes, and Ibrahim Maza each jumped +5. This guide covers every leaked player, how upgrades actually work, and which cards earn their price tag.
Team 2 goes live on Friday, October 2, 2026 at 6 PM BST. That is the standard weekly Friday slot, matching exactly when Team 1 launched on September 25. Expect the squad to stay in packs until October 9, when the next weekly drop replaces it.

DFG Team 2 squad overview
All 15 players leaked ahead of the October 2 release. The table below shows each player's position, leaked DFG rating, gold card rating, and the boost over base.
| Player | Pos | DFG OVR (leaked) | Gold OVR | Boost | Club | Upgrades on |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Erling Haaland | ST | 91 | 91 | +0 | Man City | Goals + assists |
| Kadidiatou Diani | RM | 88 | 87 | +1 | London City | Goals + assists |
| Dayot Upamecano | CB | 88 | 87 | +1 | Bayern | Clean sheets |
| Linda Caicedo | LW | 87 | 85 | +2 | Real Madrid | Goals + assists |
| Marc Cucurella | LB | 87 | 86 | +1 | Real Madrid | Clean sheets |
| Bryan Mbeumo | RM | 85-86 | 84 | +1 to +2 | Man Utd | Goals + assists |
| Ademola Lookman | ST | 85-86 | 83 | +2 to +3 | Atlético | Goals + assists |
| Anthony Gordon | LW | 85-86 | 82 | +3 to +4 | Barcelona | Goals + assists |
| Nico Paz | CAM | 85 | 84 | +1 | Como | Goals + assists |
| Jakub Kiwior | CB | 85 | 82 | +3 | Porto | Clean sheets |
| Weston McKennie | CM | 85 | 80 | +5 | Juventus | Goals + assists |
| Mateus Fernandes | CM | 85 | 80 | +5 | Spurs | Goals + assists |
| Ibrahim Maza | CAM | 85 | 80 | +5 | Leverkusen | Goals + assists |
| Robin Gosens | LB | 85 | 78 | +7 | Schalke | Clean sheets |
| Charlie Cresswell | CB | 85 | 78 | +7 | Rennes | Clean sheets |
A few details that several early write-ups got wrong: it is Linda Caicedo (Real Madrid winger), not Moisés Caicedo. It is Charlie Cresswell (CB at Rennes), not Aaron Cresswell. Gosens is at Schalke, not Stuttgart. McKennie is a CM in EA's database, not a CDM, which matters because it changes his upgrade path from clean sheets to goals and assists.
Every DFG card is a live item that tracks real domestic league performances across the 2026/27 season. The maximum upgrade is +2 OVR, reached across four milestones. Champions League and cup games do not count. Only league appearances from September 25, 2026 onwards are eligible. The first five or so Premier League matchdays from August 21 are already locked out.
Attackers and midfielders (ST, LW, RW, LM, RM, CAM, CM)
| Combined goals + assists | Reward |
|---|---|
| 3 | +1 Shooting & Passing |
| 6 | +1 PlayStyle |
| 10 | +1 OVR |
| 20 | +1 OVR (max) |
Defenders and CDMs (CB, LB, RB, CDM)
| Clean sheets | Reward |
|---|---|
| 2 | +1 Defending & Physical |
| 4 | +1 PlayStyle |
| 6 | +1 OVR |
| 10 | +1 OVR (max) |
One rule that catches people out: a defender must actually play in the match for a clean sheet to count. And if the real-world player transfers or goes out on loan, the card stops earning upgrades from that point. It does not lose upgrades already earned, but it freezes.
At launch, barely. The leaked DFG card sits at 91 OVR, matching his gold. The only day-one differences are +1 Pace (87 to 88), +2 Passing (71 to 73), and +1 Dribbling (80 to 81). His Shooting and Physical stay identical.
The real argument for buying him is the upgrade ceiling. Haaland needs 20 combined league goals and assists to reach his maximum 93. In his four Premier League seasons at City he posted 44, 32, 25, and 35 goals and assists respectively. The 20-milestone has never been in doubt. If you plan to use him all season, the DFG version will almost certainly end up two points higher than the gold.
If you just need a striker for this week, the gold card does nearly the same job at launch for less.
The five cards with +5 or higher boosts over gold are where the real value sits in this squad.
Team 1 launched on September 25 and was headlined by Kylian Mbappé at 91 ST, with Nuno Mendes (89 LB) and Alexander Isak and Pernille Harder (both 88) among the top cards. Both squads use identical upgrade rules.
The key structural difference is the defensive depth. Team 2 has five players upgrading on clean sheets (Upamecano, Cucurella, Kiwior, Gosens, Cresswell) compared to Team 1's five (Mendes, Konsa, Abdulhamid, Bisseck, Rațiu), but Upamecano at 88 CB is a stronger individual piece than Team 1's best centre-back option.
If you were hunting Bryan Mbeumo or Mateus Fernandes in Team 1 packs and came up empty, that is why. Both were confirmed for Team 2 before launch and were never in the first squad.
Three-card league cores available from Team 2:

Almost certainly, but nothing has leaked yet. Team 1 followed the standard pattern with SBC and objective players confirmed before launch. Expect similar content for Team 2 once the squad goes live, but do not plan squad building around it until the cards are actually in-game.
