Sub quests in FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE are easy to miss. They don't announce themselves loudly, and several require you to be in a specific location at the right point in the story before the NPC with the quest marker even appears. The payoff is real, though: Visions, Espers, permanent character stat boosts, and some of the best gear in the game are locked behind these optional missions. This guide covers all 33 sub quests, organized by chapter, with every step and reward laid out clearly.

Chapter 2 sub quests

All four Chapter 2 quests revolve around Dilmagia and the Dwarven Forge. The Mechabo chain in particular stretches well into Chapter 5, so start it as soon as possible.

Elven Maven

Starting location: Dilmagia (speak to Silvia at the noticeboard between the Item and Weapon/Armor Shops)

Arise, Mechabo!

What rewards are worth prioritizing?

Not every sub quest reward is equal. The Visions (Camille, Wilhelm, Aileen, Victoria, Amelia, Charlotte, Ayaka) are the most impactful because they expand your party options permanently. The Espers from Nichol's Duty (Leviathan) and Iron Splitter (Odin) are also high priority since they're not available through the main story.

The character stat boosts from quests like Shimmering Reflections, Twin Titleholders, and A New Leaf add +100 HP, +30 to a primary stat, and +20 to a secondary stat per character. These are permanent and stack with equipment, making them worth completing before endgame content.

For gear, the Genji Gloves and Genji Armor from Battle at the Big Bridge are among the best equipment pieces in the game. The second Gilgamesh fight at level 45 with 180,000 HP is a genuine challenge, so check out the best skills and ability combos before attempting it.

For players still building out their roster, pairing the right Visions with your characters makes a significant difference. The best Visions for every character guide covers which unlocks matter most and in what order to pursue them. If you're also still gearing up your party, the early game weapons and equipment guide will point you toward the best gear before sub quest boss fights get serious.

For everything else this JRPG has to offer, the full Final Fantasy Resonance strategy guide collection covers Esper locations, Tablet Shards, Colosseum battles, and more.
