Fortnite Treasure Hunters has eight NPCs, and every one offers a free Rift. If you want an AI teammate, head to Charlotte-Sensei at The $.$. Rocky, Buccaneer Brigand Jones at Windmill Village, or Kawaii Team Leader at Fortune's Fort. Those are the only three hireable Specialists, and recruitment costs nothing. The other five characters are One Piece NPCs with Rift services. Below, you'll find every location, the landmarks that narrow your search, and the steps to recruit a Specialist.
Where are all eight NPCs in Treasure Hunters?
Windmill Village and Loguetown each contain two NPCs. The remaining four characters are split between Arlong Park, Busy Bay, Fortune's Fort, and The $.$. Rocky. Use the table to pick a destination based on the character or service you want.
| NPC | Location and search area | Free services |
|---|---|---|
| Buccaneer Brigand Jones | Windmill Village, slightly south of the POI's name on the map | Heavy Specialist hire and Rift |
| Nami | Beach south of Windmill Village's center | Rift |
| Luffy | Loguetown | Rift |
| Usopp | Loguetown, the same POI as Luffy | Rift |
| Zoro | Arlong Park, at the map's western tip | Rift |
| Sanji | Busy Bay, on the eastern side of its southernmost island | Rift |
| Kawaii Team Leader | Fortune's Fort, in the north | Medic Specialist hire and Rift |
| Charlotte-Sensei | The $.$. Rocky, beside the docked ship | Supply Specialist hire and Rift |
These locations apply to Chapter 7 Mini-Season 1, update 43.00. NPC locations and services can change as Treasure Hunters progresses, so keep the mini-season in mind when using this map.

Which NPCs can you hire for free?
Charlotte-Sensei, Buccaneer Brigand Jones, and Kawaii Team Leader are the three recruitable Specialists. Each becomes an AI-controlled ally who follows you and helps fight opponents, including when you're playing solos. Hiring is available for only these three characters, even though all eight NPCs offer Rifts.
Where should you look for each Specialist?
The three Specialists have different roles and separate locations:
- Charlotte-Sensei, Supply Specialist: Go to The $.$. Rocky and look beside the ship's docking area.
- Buccaneer Brigand Jones, Heavy Specialist: At Windmill Village, begin your search slightly south of the POI label on the map.
- Kawaii Team Leader, Medic Specialist: Head to Fortune's Fort. She is the northern NPC to look for if you want a recruit in that part of the island.
Charlotte-Sensei's dockside position is the easiest detail to get wrong. The ship is your landmark, but boarding it takes you away from her search area.
How do you recruit a Specialist?
Once you reach Charlotte-Sensei, Jones, or Kawaii Team Leader, use the hire marker above the NPC's head to identify the recruitment option. Then follow these steps:
- Approach the Specialist and interact with them.
- Use E on keyboard, Square on PlayStation, or X on Xbox to talk.
- Select Hire NPC in the interaction menu.
- Confirm the service to recruit them for free.
You can hire one NPC per player. Your recruit then follows you around, giving you an extra ally without requiring Gold Bars. The one-per-player limit matters if you're visiting more than one Specialist location during a match.
Where are Nami and the other One Piece NPCs?
The five One Piece characters are Nami, Luffy, Usopp, Zoro, and Sanji. Their service is a free Rift. Choose one of the three Specialists instead if your goal is to recruit an ally.
Nami at Windmill Village
To find Nami, start at the center of Windmill Village and travel south until you reach the beach. Her beach location is the detail to remember, rather than simply searching around the village's map label.
Windmill Village also contains Buccaneer Brigand Jones, but the two directions are different: Jones is slightly south of the POI name, while Nami is farther toward the beach south of the center. If you want a Heavy Specialist, look for Jones; if you want to meet Nami, continue to the shoreline.
Luffy and Usopp at Loguetown
Loguetown is your destination for both Luffy and Usopp. You can look for both characters within the same named POI, making it a useful stop if meeting those two is your priority.
Both characters offer a free Rift. If you only need that service, use whichever NPC you find first. Neither Luffy nor Usopp provides Specialist recruitment.
Zoro at Arlong Park and Sanji at Busy Bay
Zoro is at Arlong Park on the western tip of the map. Use that western edge as your broad destination, then search the POI for him.
Sanji is at Busy Bay. Narrow your search to the eastern part of the southernmost island within the POI. That island detail is more useful than searching Busy Bay as a whole, especially if Sanji is the specific character you're trying to reach.
How do free NPC Rifts work?
Speak to any of the eight NPCs and choose their Rift service. It immediately sends you into the air, letting you glide away from an enemy team or toward opponents you want to engage. You can get this service from Specialists as well as the five One Piece characters.
Players returning after using the Chapter 7 Season 4 NPC locations and services guide should remember the current cost: Treasure Hunters NPC services are free. You don't need to save currency before visiting a character.
Because every NPC offers a Rift, your destination can depend on where you are rather than which character you prefer. Zoro at Arlong Park and Kawaii Team Leader at Fortune's Fort provide the same Rift service, even though only Kawaii Team Leader can also become your ally.
Which NPC location should you visit first?
Choose your first stop by service. For a recruit, your options are The $.$. Rocky for a Supply Specialist, Windmill Village for a Heavy Specialist, or Fortune's Fort for a Medic Specialist. For a Rift alone, any of the eight NPCs works.
Windmill Village is useful if you want to find both Jones and Nami, while Loguetown puts Luffy and Usopp in the same POI. Neither pairing changes the Rift's cost or function. The reason to visit is the characters you want to find or, in Jones's case, the option to hire a Specialist.
