Get the 2025 Ford Mustang GTD in Forza Horizon 6 through Car Pass or an individual car add-on purchase. Car Pass owners receive it automatically once its release date arrives. Before spending money, check whether your game edition already includes the pass. The Mustang is separate from the free City Life Festival Playlist reward cars, so completing seasonal challenges is not its unlock route.

When does the Mustang GTD become available?

The 2025 Ford Mustang GTD becomes available on November 5, 2026. It is the first Car Pass car released during Series 7, City Life.

The update download and the car’s release have different dates. The Steam update became available on November 2 at 6:00 PM UTC, ahead of the City Life Festival Playlist starting on November 5 at 2:30 PM UTC. Installing the update early does not bring the Mustang’s release date forward.

The GTD’s November 5 date is a Car Pass release date, not a deadline to earn seasonal points. Look for it among your paid content and owned cars, not among the Summer season’s points rewards.

Which editions include the required Car Pass?

Check your edition against the table before purchasing another add-on. Deluxe Edition, Premium Edition, and Premium Upgrade include Car Pass. Standard Edition players can purchase the pass separately.

Your game access or purchaseCar Pass included? What to do for the GTD
Deluxe EditionYesUse your included Car Pass access
Premium EditionYesUse your included Car Pass access
Premium UpgradeYesUse the Car Pass included in the upgrade
Standard Edition aloneNoBuy Car Pass or the individual Mustang GTD add-on

Car Pass delivers 30 cars through weekly releases. Choose the pass if you want its wider selection; the individual Mustang purchase is the narrower option if the GTD is the only car you want.

If your Mustang access comes from Premium Edition or Premium Upgrade, the Forza Horizon 6 Premium Edition bonus content guide covers claiming the other bundled rewards.

How is the Mustang GTD delivered to your garage?

The Mustang GTD uses automatic Car Pass garage delivery instead.

Follow the automatic Car Pass delivery route

Car Pass releases are automatically added to your Garage each Thursday as they become available. Follow this sequence to check the Mustang:

  1. Install the City Life update.
  2. Check that you own Car Pass through an eligible edition, Premium Upgrade, or a separate pass purchase.
  3. Launch the game on or after the Mustang GTD’s release date.
  4. Open your Garage and look for the 2025 Ford Mustang GTD.

You do not need to win a championship, discover a hidden car, or reach a Festival Playlist points threshold for this delivery.

Check the installed update version

Forza Support’s November 2 release notes list these City Life update versions:

PlatformCity Life update version
Xbox Series X|S3.479.874.0
Windows PC, Xbox app3.479.874.0
Steam1.479.874.0

The City Life gift sent through the Message Center is a special livery for the 2025 GR GT Prototype.

Do you need credits to claim the Mustang GTD?

Car Pass delivery costs no additional in-game credits. The 400,000 CR Autoshow listing is a separate purchase option, not a fee you must pay to receive your included car.

Paid access and in-game car purchases serve different purposes. Buying DLC grants access to the Mustang; spending credits through the Autoshow or Auction House purchases a car within the game. Credit-based purchases still require the relevant DLC access.

Check your Garage before spending credits. An eligible Car Pass owner should use the included delivery first, rather than treating the Autoshow listing as the redemption method.

If you are comparing the Mustang’s paid access with other collection targets, the Forza Horizon 6 vehicle unlock guide covers the different acquisition routes.

What are the Mustang GTD’s stock stats?

Class, drivetrain, and engine specifications

Stock performance ratings

Performance categoryRating
Speed7.8
Handling7.6
Acceleration6.0
Launch6.5
Braking9.9
Offroad4.7

Braking is its highest displayed rating. Acceleration and launch sit below speed and handling, so the power figure alone does not describe every part of its stock performance.

For another American performance car to add alongside the Mustang, the Forza Horizon 6 Dodge Viper GTS ACR Forza Edition guide covers that model’s unlock route.

Select the GTD from your Garage once it arrives. Keep it stock initially if you want to compare the listed ratings before committing credits to upgrades.
