Finding a good base location in Grounded 2 can make progression much easier. The best spots usually have useful resources nearby, enough room to build, and fewer dangerous creatures walking through the area.

1. Starting Area Clearing
This is one of the easiest spots to use early in the game. It is close to the starting area, has plenty of open ground, and does not have many dangerous creatures walking through it. Acorns and Blueberries are also close enough to reach without much trouble.

2. Ice Cream Cart Rock
This location has a good amount of build space and easy access to Blueberries and Weed Stems. There are a few Orb Weavers and Larvae nearby, but building slightly above ground level helps avoid most problems. It is also useful because the area stays relevant as players move further into progression.
3. Central Tree Clearing
The central tree area is good for players who want a bigger base. Sap, Pinecones, Dry Grass, and Mushrooms can all be found nearby, and the location makes traveling across the park easier.

4. Ranger Outpost Rock
This spot is mainly useful because it sits close to a Ranger Outpost and the Pneumatic Transit System, making traveling to other parts of the map much faster. The build space is decent, but players should still watch out for a nearby Wolf Spider.
5. Raised Deck Corner
The raised deck is one of the safer places to build. Most creatures stay below the platform, so players do not have to deal with as many random attacks. Its height also makes it a good place to set up ziplines.
6. Picnic Table Roots
The area around the Picnic Table is one of the best resource spots on the map. Players can find the following materials nearby:
- Acorns
- Blueberries
- Pine Needles
- Pinecones
- Weed Stems
- Clover Leaves
- Clay
- Mushrooms
- Lingonberry Chunks
There are also several different places to build around the roots and surrounding terrain.
7. Veggie Garden Flat
The Veggie Garden has one of the biggest open areas for building, allowing players to make a large base without clearing much terrain first.
8. Gnarly Bark Ridge
This location is a strong choice for players exploring the newer Into the Abyss areas. It has good build space, useful resources nearby, and easy access to a Ranger Outpost. A Wolf Spider patrols one side of the area, so blocking that path makes the spot much easier to use.

9. Skunk Pond Lily Pads
The Skunk Pond Lily Pads are a good option for players who want a base close to the water. The pads themselves are fairly safe, and nearby branches can be used for Sap Collectors. Mosquitoes and Tiger Mosquitoes can appear around other parts of the pond, so the exact build spot still matters.
10. Pergola High Point
The raised area in the Pergola Area is one of the better spots for transportation. Its height makes it easy to build zipline routes toward Skunk Pond, the Pumpkin Patch, and other parts of the map. Orb Weavers stay mostly below, although an Orb Weaver Jr. can sometimes reach the upper section.
