Crates are one of the more satisfying systems in Grow a Garden 2. They stock the Props shop with decorative items, defensive structures, and utility objects you can place on your plot. Some of them are purely cosmetic. Others, specifically the fence, door, and trap crates, are the difference between a garden that survives the night and one that gets stripped clean. There are 14 crates in total, ranging from a 30,000 sheckle Common all the way up to a 20 million sheckle Mythic, and each one has its own drop table with distinct rarities inside.
Where do you buy crates in Grow a Garden 2?
All crates are sold through the Props shop, run by the Charlotte NPC. To get there, click the Seeds or Sell button at the top of your screen. That teleports you to the central marketplace. Walk toward the Props shop, which sits between the Guilds and Gears stalls. Press E to open the menu, pick your crate, and pay either in sheckles or Robux.
The shop restocks every five minutes automatically, cycling through a handful of available items. Common, Uncommon, and Epic crates show up most of the time. Legendary and Mythic crates are much rarer in the rotation. If you need one immediately, you can force a restock for 39 Robux using the Restock button in the top-right corner of the Props shop menu.

What are the best crates to buy first?
The answer depends on where you are in the game, but defense should come before decoration. Grow a Garden 2 has a stealing mechanic that activates at night, letting other players run off with crops from unprotected plots. Spending 7 million sheckles on a Fence Crate before you have any walls is a much better investment than dropping 200,000 on an Arch Crate for aesthetics.
Here is the order that makes the most sense for most players:
- Fence Crate first. At 7 million sheckles or 299 Robux, it is expensive, but fences close off the perimeter of your garden. With 14 fence variants in the drop pool, you will likely need multiple crates to fully surround a large plot.
- Owner Door Crate second. Once your walls are up, you need an entrance that only you can use. The Oak Owner Door drops at 75%, so you should get a functional door on your first or second purchase.
- Bear Trap Crate third. Walls and doors stop most players, but traps catch anyone who finds a way through. The Common Bear Trap has a 90% drop rate, so you can reliably stock up on traps without burning through your sheckle savings.
After your garden is secured, the decorative crates become genuinely fun to open. The Light Crate and Bench Crate are solid early purchases if you want your plot to look good without spending millions. The Conveyor Crate is worth attention too, since the Super Conveyor at a 2% drop rate has real utility for moving crops around your layout.
Decorative crates worth considering
Once defense is sorted, a few crates stand out purely for how much variety they offer:
- Roleplay Crate has 7 different items, including the Water Fountain at 5.26%, making it one of the more varied Rare-tier crates.
- Conveyor Crate has five tiers of conveyor belts, and the Epic Conveyor at 10% is genuinely useful for garden layout optimization.
- Spring Crate offers four spring variants, with the Super Spring at just over 1%. If you enjoy mobility props, this is worth saving for.
