The Echo of Ancients Festival brings a new Catalog, Slab Mining, seasonal recipes, limited crops, wildlife collections, building materials, outfits, and social events to Heartopia. This guide covers everything you need to know to earn every reward before the festival ends.

The festival runs from August 29 at 6:00 AM until October 10 at 5:59 AM Server Time. Players must reach D.G. Member Level 7 and complete the Main Story quest "The Answer Lies Within" to participate.

Festival Catalog and Rewards

Players earn Festival Points by completing Catalog challenges and Daily Requests. Increasing the Festival Level unlocks free rewards including Festival Tokens, Wishing Stars, Horn Totem Material Packs, and the Unpolished Nest furniture blueprint.

The Catalog also includes a collection quest that awards 18 Time-Limited Exhibition Passes, Material Packs, Wishing Stars, and access to limited Hobby collections. Exhibition Passes earned from this festival remain usable until October 17 at 5:59 AM Server Time.

Festival Pack Differences

Echo of Ancients offers free, paid, and Supreme reward options.

Players can buy the regular Festival Pack first and upgrade to the Supreme Festival Pack later.

The reward tracks also feature useful home-building pieces, including rope flooring and walls, linen roofing, wooden furniture, terrain slopes, short stairs, grass decorations, and an adjustable suspension bridge. The slopes and bridge can be combined to create elevated houses, walkways, or parkour builds.

How Slab Mining Works

Slab Mining is available at two locations:

  • Onsen Mountain Ruins, particularly around the Capybara statues
  • Spirit-Oak Pine Forest, along the route toward Deer Tower

Mining these spots can reward parts from the Capybara Slab and Oak-Oak Slab collections, along with the Slabtime Gacha. Pieces from the same set can snap together at a player's Home to form a complete decorative slab.

Mining spots return periodically, so both areas should be checked regularly. They may refresh approximately every hour, though this timer is not officially confirmed.

tip
Missing slab pieces can be purchased from Fashion Ambassador Azure for 2,600 Festival Tokens each. Mine as much as possible first and use Azure's shop only to fill the final gaps.

Festival Store

The Festival Store can be opened through the Echo of Ancients Catalog or by speaking with Azure in town. Festival Tokens can be spent on items such as the Dodo Plushie Ornament, Bone Model Ornament, Calf Pet Sofa, Primitive Jumpsuit, Solo Action, and additional decorations.

Festival Tokens come from Catalog rewards, quests, and eligible items sold to Azure. Any tokens remaining after the season ends will be converted into Gold at a 1:1 rate and delivered through the mailbox.

Festival Cooking

Echo of Ancients recipes can only be prepared using the Simple Clay Stove. A regular stove will not work. The stove is available through the free Festival Catalog and must be crafted and placed at a player's Home before cooking begins.

Massimo's Cooking Store sells the seasonal recipes and ingredients, including Fruitwood Charcoal and Concentrated Date Paste. The main recipe groups are:

  • Prickly Pear Fruit Juice
  • Grilled Meat & Vegetables
  • Prickly Pear Fish Soup
  • Primitive Feast Combo

Different fruits, vegetables, and Garfish can be used to discover recipe variations. For example, Prickly Pear Fruit Juice has Apple, Mandarin, Blueberry, Raspberry, Strawberry, Grape, and Pineapple versions. The fish soup can also be made with each seasonal Garfish variant.

Cooking these dishes and earning higher star ratings contributes to the festival collection and its reward track.

Crops and Flowers

Prickly Pear Seeds can be bought from the gardening vendor for 10 Gold each. They take around 15 minutes to mature and are needed for several festival recipes.

Players can also purchase red, yellow, and white Wynberg Conebush Seeds. These limited flowers take longer to grow and can be crossbred to produce more color variations.

tip
Plant Prickly Pear early , cooking challenges can consume a large supply quickly.

Fish and Insect Locations

Four limited Garfish can be caught at Forest Lake. They appear at any time during Sunny, Rainy, or Rainbow weather.

The Brown Rhinoceros Beetle is commonly found near the Capybara statues. All four festival insects can appear throughout the day in Sunny, Rainy, or Rainbow weather.

Festival Birds

The limited Hoopoe collection becomes available on September 5 at 6:00 AM Server Time. Players should check the Birdwatching collection and related event page once it opens, as the birds are not part of the festival's first-week wildlife pool.

Collector's Challenge

The Festival Collector's Challenge runs from September 12 at 6:00 AM until September 26 at 5:59 AM Server Time.

During the challenge, players can submit requested event items through the Collector's Challenge Box outside their Home. They can also help other D.G. Members complete their submissions.

Rhythm of Nature and Primal Pulse

Rhythm of Nature requires players to complete a Face-to-Face 2-Person Interaction with a friend across seven days. Progress is tracked separately for each friend, and completing the requirement unlocks the limited Rhythm of Nature 2-Person Action.

Primal Pulse sends players searching for hidden bubbles by following clues on the event page. Each discovered bubble contains a mystery emote reward.

Home mailbox decorations can also upgrade during the festival based on the number of Likes a player's Home receives.

What to Do First

Players looking to clear the Echo of Ancients Festival efficiently should follow this order:

  1. Claim the free Catalog rewards and unlock the Simple Clay Stove.
  2. Buy Prickly Pear and Wynberg Conebush Seeds.
  3. Purchase the limited recipes and ingredients from Massimo.
  4. Mine both slab locations whenever their dig spots return.
  5. Catch the Garfish and insects before the later events begin.
  6. Complete Daily Requests for Festival Points.
  7. Start Rhythm of Nature early enough to finish all seven interaction days.
  8. Save Festival Tokens for priority store rewards and missing slab pieces.
