How Does the Splash Whale Hunt Work?
The Splash Whale Hunt unlocks right after the underwater region in Whalefall Canyon becomes available. Naughty introduces the collection challenge, which asks players to photograph hidden Splash Whales scattered throughout the underwater map.
One new Splash Whale is added each day, so checking in regularly is the best way to stay caught up.

Heartopia Splash Whale Location Guide
Day 1 – Light Blue Splash Whale
The Light Blue Splash Whale sits on the second floor of the D.G. Expedition Base Camp. Swimming outside the building and looking up toward the upper window is where it's perched. After the photo, turn right while facing the window and swim toward the nearby pink coral formations to find the matching bubble.
Day 2 – Green Splash Whale
The Green Splash Whale rests on top of the underwater portal. Diving into the ocean and immediately turning around to look above the portal entrance reveals it. This one is easy to miss since most players keep swimming forward instead of checking behind them at the entrance. The matching bubble floats just behind the portal.
Day 3 – Orange Splash Whale
The Orange Splash Whale is on the ground floor inside the D.G. Expedition Base Camp, tucked between the entrance and the staircase among the coral decorations. The bubble is simple to grab here, since it floats right behind the whale's location.
Day 4 – Yellow Splash Whale
The Yellow Splash Whale shows up inside the bright yellow coral north of the base camp, near where Oliver is first met during the underwater storyline. The matching bubble sits west of the base camp among the rocky seamounts, so anyone working through Oliver's quests will likely stumble onto it naturally.
Day 5 – Purple Splash Whale
The Purple Splash Whale is found in the base camp courtyard beside the table where Azure usually stands. After the photo, walking to the nearby fence and swimming into the kelp behind the camp leads to the bubble, hidden among the kelp.
Day 6 – Olivine Splash Whale
The Olivine Splash Whale is inside the transparent balcony attached to the base camp. Swimming upward until reaching the balcony is all it takes to spot it. The bubble stays close by, floating around the same balcony area.
Day 7 – Grey Splash Whale
The Grey Splash Whale sits on the table between Azure and Annie inside the base camp. Swimming behind the tallest tower at the camp after the photo leads to a rocky alcove where the bubble floats.
Day 8 – Cyan Splash Whale
The Cyan Splash Whale hides behind Annie near the underwater base camp, tucked into the blue coral area just past her. The bubble circles a nearby rock formation on the left in a loop, so it might take a few seconds to appear.
Day 9 – Pink Splash Whale
The Pink Splash Whale blends into a pink coral ledge in the middle of the narrow Coral Way passage, making it one of the trickier ones to spot. Swimming upward to the ledge on the eastern side after the photo reveals the bubble, which circles the platform until collected.

The Azure Splash Whale is found on the Blue Coral near the northern corner of Coral Way. The bubble sits just past the whale on its right-hand side.
