The Dahlia (also known as Constance) is a 5-star Fire/Nihility support who fundamentally changes how Break teams function in Honkai: Star Rail. Her kit lets allies deal Super Break DMG even before enemies are Weakness Broken, and her Dance Partner mechanic turns every hit into a chain of additional damage. She's the kind of support that makes Firefly feel complete and gives Break-focused players a reason to revisit the entire archetype.
Is The Dahlia worth pulling?
The short answer: yes, especially if you run Firefly or any Break-focused DPS. According to Game8's build documentation, The Dahlia can replace Ruan Mei in a full premium Break team, which then frees Ruan Mei to slot into other lineups like Kafka's DoT team. That kind of roster flexibility is genuinely valuable at endgame. Her banner, Dance in Flame, runs as part of the Indelible Coterie banner in Version 4.2 Phase 1, starting April 21, 2026 (UTC-5) and ending May 13, 2026.
info
The 4-star rate-up characters on The Dahlia's banner are Gallagher, Xueyi, and Hook. Both Gallagher and Xueyi slot directly into her recommended teams, so pulling on this banner has solid secondary value.
What does The Dahlia actually do?
Her kit revolves around three interconnected systems:
The Gloomy Zone (Skill): The Dahlia deploys a Zone lasting 3 turns that increases all allies' Weakness Break Efficiency by 50% and converts Toughness Reduction dealt to non-Weakness-Broken enemies into Super Break DMG. This is the core of her support identity.
Dance Partner (Talent): On entering combat, The Dahlia regenerates 35 Energy and pairs herself with a teammate (prioritizing the ally with the highest Break Effect if no partner is assigned). When the Dance Partner attacks an enemy, The Dahlia fires a Follow-up ATK dealing 5 instances of Fire DMG, each at 15% ATK. Each instance that hits a Weakness Broken target also converts Toughness Reduction into Super Break DMG at 100% multiplier.
Wilt (Ultimate): Inflicts the Wilt state on all enemies for 4 turns, reducing their DEF by 8% and implanting a Weakness matching the Dance Partner's element. The Dahlia also boosts ally SPD by 30% for 2 turns whenever a weakness is implanted, with Fire allies additionally recovering Energy equal to 10% of their max.
The Technique is worth using before combat: it creates a dimension that prevents enemies from attacking, and entering combat through it immediately activates the Gloomy Zone and converts the initial Toughness Reduction into Super Break DMG at 60%.

Best build for The Dahlia
Relics and ornaments
The recommended relic set is Iron Cavalry Against the Scourge (x4), which boosts The Dahlia's personal damage output alongside the Break Effect stat. If she already has enough Break Effect, Thief of Shooting Meteor (x4) is a solid alternative that improves energy regeneration from Weakness Breaks.
For the Planar Ornament, Forge of the Kalpagni Lantern is the top choice. It provides both a SPD bonus and a Break Effect bonus, and The Dahlia can reliably trigger it by implanting Fire weakness to non-Fire-weakness enemies through her Ultimate.
The secondary ornament option is Talia: Kingdom of Banditry, which pushes Break Effect higher if you're not hitting the 250% target.
Stat targets
Main stats by slot
- Body: HP%, DEF%, or Effect Hit Rate
- Feet: SPD
- Sphere: HP% or DEF%
- Rope: Break Effect or Energy Regeneration Rate
Sub-stat priority: Break Effect, SPD, then HP%/DEF%, then Effect Hit Rate.
info
The 250% Break Effect threshold activates the full bonus from Iron Cavalry Against the Scourge. If you can't reach it, 150% is still the floor for consistent performance.
Light cones
The signature cone is strong but not mandatory. Long Road Leads Home performs well and is accessible to players who already own it.

What are the best teams for The Dahlia?
Premium Super Break team
This is the top-end lineup. Firefly handles the primary damage, Fugue provides additional Break support (with her Talent's Toughness meter counting toward Himeko's charge if you swap her in), and Lingsha sustains the team. The Dahlia's Gloomy Zone keeps Super Break DMG flowing even before enemies are fully broken.
Free-to-play team
Xueyi's kit scales on Break Effect and her Follow-up attacks require Toughness reduction, making her a natural fit. Gallagher's Besotted debuff from his Ultimate increases Break DMG dealt to enemies, and his healing scales on Break Effect, so he gains extra value in this comp.
DPS alternatives
- Boothill performs better against Elite enemies
- Rappa pulls ahead in fights with more than 3 enemies
- March 7th (Imaginary) is a free option; use her Skill on Gallagher or Lingsha to generate more Toughness DMG with her Enhanced Basic ATK
- Himeko benefits from Fugue's extra Toughness meter counting toward her charge
Support and sustain swaps
- Replace Fugue with Ruan Mei for team-wide DMG and SPD buffs if you don't have Fugue
- Huohuo works as a sustain replacement for AoE healing and energy restoration across all allies
warning
Running Firefly without The Dahlia or another dedicated Break support significantly reduces her output. If you're pulling Firefly specifically to use her in a Break team, The Dahlia is effectively a paired pull.
Trace priority
Max the Ultimate and Talent first. The Ultimate provides the DEF reduction and weakness implanting that powers the whole team, and the Talent directly increases the Break DMG multipliers for both The Dahlia and her Dance Partner.
All three Bonus Abilities are highest priority:
- Outgrow the Old, Espouse the New: SPD boost when weaknesses are implanted, plus extra Fire Toughness Reduction and energy for Fire allies
- Lament, Lost Soul: Recovers 1 Skill Point per 2 Follow-up ATK uses
- Yet Another Funeral: Increases other characters' Break Effect by an amount equal to 24% of The Dahlia's Break Effect plus 50% when entering combat or when she receives healing
The Skill can be upgraded for damage but isn't urgent. The Basic ATK is last priority.
Eidolons: which ones matter?
E0 is fully functional. E1 and E2 are the meaningful power spikes, with E2 being the recommended stopping point for anyone willing to spend for constellations.
Ascension and trace materials
Full ascension requires 65x Radiant Prominence, 15 each of Tatters of Thought, Fragments of Impression, and Shards of Desires, plus 308,000 Credits. Trace materials add significantly to that: 139x Heaven Incinerator, 72x Starfire Essence, 12x Vanquished Flow's Reticence, 8x Tracks of Destiny, and 3,000,000 Credits total across all nodes.
Plan your farming before the banner ends. The Radiant Prominence and Vanquished Flow's Reticence are the bottlenecks worth stockpiling early.
