Tracks of the Beast is one of those ARC Raiders quests that sounds straightforward on paper but has a few wrinkles that can eat up your entire round if you don't know where to look. You're heading into Pendola Pass, tracking down a destroyed train station, and getting eyes on two enemy types you may not have faced yet: the Bully and the Skulke
The quest unlocks after finishing Exploring Pendola Pass, so if you haven't wrapped that one up yet, that's your first stop. Once it's active, Tracks of the Beast asks you to ping both ARC units in a single run, with two optional objectives layered on top for bonus rewards.
What the quest actually asks of you
Here's the full task list for Tracks of the Beast:
- Head to the Northern Tracks on Pendola Pass
- Find the destroyed station at the end of the tracks
- Ping a Bully
- Ping a Skulker
- (Optional) Destroy 3 Skulkers
- (Optional) Deliver a Skulker Targeter
The optional objectives are worth pursuing if the match gives you time, but the core four tasks are what matter for quest completion. Miss the optionals and you still walk away with the standard rewards.
Getting to Almatera Station
The Northern Tracks aren't labeled as a distinct named zone on the Pendola Pass map, which is where most players lose time. The area you're looking for is the northern region of the map where the train tracks run. Head north and your quest marker should update once you're in the right area.
From there, the game tells you to find the destroyed station at the end of the tracks. That phrasing is a little misleading since the actual end of the tracks goes out of bounds. What you're really looking for is Almatera Station, sitting in the northwestern section of Pendola Pass. Walk into the station and the objective ticks off automatically.
For players still building their familiarity with Pendola Pass, it helps to have the complete ARC Raiders quest list bookmarked. Knowing which objectives chain together saves a lot of backtracking between runs.
Tracking down the Bully and Skulker
Once you're at Almatera Station, the Bully shouldn't be hard to find. These are large ground enemies that roam near the station, and you'll hear them before you see them. The mechanical footstep sounds are a reliable audio cue. Creep toward the noise, get the ping off, and back away. The Bully can close distance fast if it spots you, so don't linger.
Skulkers are a different challenge entirely.
They're small, low to the ground, and blend into snow-covered terrain better than you'd expect. They move like a crawling unit before locking into a firing position, at which point they become genuinely dangerous. The key here is patience: scan around the station first, then push outward if nothing shows up. Even the scrap remains of a destroyed Skulker count for the ping objective, so don't panic if the match is running late.
For the optional task of destroying 3 Skulkers, target the turret that pops up from the center of the unit. That's the weak point. Shooting the outer shell takes significantly longer, and in a timed run that difference matters. Loot at least one Skulker for the Skulker Targeter item if you're going for the delivery bonus.
What this quest sets up
Tracks of the Beast is essentially an introduction to two enemy archetypes that will show up more aggressively in later content. Getting comfortable with how the Bully moves and where Skulkers like to position themselves pays dividends well beyond this single quest.
