With the new FIFA World Cup: Launch ... - Social

The 2026 FIFA World Cup Round of 16 is already delivering the kind of football that demands a proper setup. Brazil vs. Norway kicks off today at 4 p.m. ET from MetLife Stadium, and Mexico vs. England follows at 8 p.m. ET from Estadio Azteca. The 4th of July holiday weekend has landed at the exact moment when streaming services are running their best promotional deals, and the final is still weeks away.

Here's the thing: the window to lock in a discounted streaming plan before knockout football gets really serious is closing fast. Once the quarterfinals and semifinals roll in, those introductory offers disappear.

The streaming options actually worth your attention

Every match in the 2026 World Cup airs on FOX and Telemundo in the US, which means the streaming decision comes down to which service carries those channels at the best price right now.

YouTube TV is running a 4th of July promotional rate of $67.99 per month for the first five months, down from the standard $82.99. You get FOX, FS1, Telemundo, and Universo in one package, plus a 21-day free trial. The catch is a slight livestream delay, which is a real consideration if you're watching alongside social media.

FOX One, Fox's own standalone streaming service, offers a 3-day free trial at $19.99 per month after that, or $199.99 annually. Three days covers multiple knockout matches at no cost. The annual plan is the smarter play if you're planning to follow the tournament through to the final.

Sling Select comes in at $19.99 per month and covers FOX and FS1. It's the leanest option if all you want is the English-language broadcast without extra channels.

Peacock handles the Spanish-language broadcast side at $10.99 per month, and a Walmart+ annual membership (currently 50% off at $49 for the year) bundles Peacock access with grocery delivery and shipping benefits.

tip
If you haven't subscribed to any of these yet, the FOX One 3-day free trial is the fastest way to catch today's Brazil vs. Norway match at zero cost.

What the Round of 16 schedule looks like from here

The bracket is filling out quickly. Here's what's confirmed through Tuesday:

All matches air on FOX and Telemundo. The Norway angle is particularly interesting: they are the only national team that has never lost to Brazil across four meetings since 1988, posting two wins and two draws. Erling Haaland leading that line makes this the most watchable Round of 16 fixture on paper.

Gaming the World Cup from the other side of the screen

For gamers who want the World Cup experience beyond the broadcast, the tournament has crossed over into multiple titles this month. EA Sports FC 26 launched a free World's Game update with 53 national teams and a 48-team tournament mode, and the FC 26 Season 8 pass rewards are built around World Cup-themed content worth picking up before the season ends. Rocket League has its own crossover running right now, and you can find the full breakdown of Rocket League x FIFA World Cup 2026 event rewards if you want to collect everything before the event closes.

The quarterfinals are roughly a week out. Anyone who hasn't sorted their setup yet has today and tomorrow before the best holiday deals start expiring.
