Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 received its November 2 update with a 40% reduction in DMZ UAV Tower spawns. Season 1 is scheduled to launch November 5 at 9 PM PT.

On Hajin, UAV Towers reveal nearby Operators, and some cover extraction areas. Players have used that coverage to track enemy movement and set traps for squads trying to leave.

UAV Towers lose their guaranteed POI slot

A UAV Tower is no longer guaranteed at every point of interest, and multiple towers can no longer spawn in the same area.

Tower objectives also receive a separate interface fix: their status should now display correctly after recapture or when the Extended Duration Trait is involved.

Elsewhere in DMZ, the Truce Flag cooldown drops from 180 seconds to 60 seconds, substantially shortening the wait between uses.

Progression and objective fixes accompany those balance changes. Retired Active Duty Operators should now save correctly, and the patch addresses some Operator Bounty progress resetting between deployments. SAM Sites can also be captured after another squad abandons or fails its capture attempt, removing a blocker that could leave the objective unavailable.

Shipment tuning and restored dive movement

Shipment receives an initial pass on its spawn logic, with Infinity Ward planning further improvements. For context on the wider multiplayer roster, the Modern Warfare 4 map guide covers the game's locations.

Movement gets a notable reversal, too. The temporary 23% reduction to dive velocity, introduced to mitigate an exploit, has been undone. The update also fixes players transitioning from prone to standing without the intended animations, although these server-side changes introduce minor visual animation bugs that Infinity Ward plans to fix later.

Free for All now ends with Final Killcam rather than Best Play. Voice chat support outside parties remains in development for a future update.

Other changes in the November 2 patch include:

  • JOKR Launcher: Infrared mode is temporarily disabled to stop an exploit and will return once a full fix is ready.
  • HUD readability: The After Death Damage widget uses simpler colors and identifies left and right body parts separately. Death Skull icons have reduced brightness and opacity.
  • Map exploits: Out-of-bounds routes have been closed on Sentry and Mumbai, with a tree-related visual issue also fixed on Mumbai.
  • Stability: Several crash and stability issues have been addressed across modes.

Season 1 is scheduled for November 5 at 9 PM PT, with its patch notes due before launch. For more on the game's modes and systems, browse the Modern Warfare 4 guide collection.
