Coming to Xbox Game Pass: Cyberpunk 2077, Planet of Lana II, and More - XBOX Wire

Xbox has confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 is leaving Game Pass on September 15, making it the headline departure in a wave of 10 titles set to exit the subscription library this month.

The removal covers both the Cloud and Console versions of the game. PC Game Pass subscribers can breathe easy on this one, but anyone playing on Xbox hardware or through cloud streaming will lose access at the September 15 cutoff.

The full list of games leaving September 15

Cyberpunk 2077 is the biggest name on the chopping block, but it's not the only well-regarded title heading out the door. Dead Cells, Frostpunk 2, and Deep Rock Galactic Survivor are all departing on the same date, giving the list some real weight beyond just the one marquee title.

Here's every game leaving Xbox Game Pass on September 15:

As is standard practice with Game Pass removals, Xbox is offering a discount on all 10 titles for active subscribers who want to purchase them before they leave. The discount window closes when the games drop on the 15th.

What's actually being added this wave

The September first wave isn't all bad news. RuneScape: Dragonwilds, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, and Speedrunners 2 are among the titles joining the library. Xbox has also confirmed a second wave of September additions will be announced later in the month.

Cyberpunk 2077 is only leaving Cloud and Console tiers. PC Game Pass subscribers retain access, so check which plan you're on before purchasing.

Why this removal stings more than most

Here's the thing: Cyberpunk 2077 has had a second life on Game Pass that most games never get. After a notoriously troubled launch, CD Projekt Red spent years rebuilding the game into something genuinely worth playing, and the 2023 Phantom Liberty expansion pushed it back into the conversation for one of the better open-world RPGs available. Losing it from the subscription service cuts off the easiest on-ramp for players who never went back to give it a second look.

For subscribers who want to keep playing after the 15th, buying the game at the discounted subscriber price is the move. If you're looking to get the most out of your remaining access or need a refresher before deciding whether to purchase, the Cyberpunk 2077 guide collection covers everything from builds to questlines.

The broader Game Pass catalog continues to shift regularly, and keeping track of what's coming and going is half the battle for subscribers. For context on other games worth your time across the library, the gaming guides hub has you covered heading into the rest of September.
