Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 Guide: How to Get Lootin' Llama Sprite | GAMES.GG

The v41.30 update landed in Fortnite on July 30, and buried inside a massive 20-Sprite drop is one that every loot-hungry player should be chasing: the Llama Sprite. It does not just look good sitting in your inventory. It actively makes your weapons better.

What the Llama Sprite actually does

The Llama Sprite grants a percentage chance to receive a weapon upgrade every time you open an ammo box. At base level that chance sits at 5%, which sounds modest, but it scales meaningfully as you level the Sprite up: 5% at Level 1, then 10%, 15%, 17%, and finally 20% at max level. Across a full match where you're cracking ammo boxes constantly, those odds add up fast.

The key here is that weapon upgrades from ammo boxes are essentially free. You were going to open those boxes anyway. The Llama Sprite turns a routine looting action into a slot machine that occasionally hands you a better gun.

tip
Prioritize leveling your Llama Sprite early. The jump from 5% to 10% at Level 2 is the biggest single efficiency gain in the upgrade chain.

Where to find it in Chapter 7 Season 3

The Llama Sprite drops from Relic Chests, the same source as the Ironmouse and John Wick Sprites added in the same update. Three Llama variants also pull from Relic Chests: the Gummy Llama, Galaxy Llama, Gem Llama, and Gold Llama Sprites all share the same spawn pool. That is five Llama-type Sprites total competing for chest drops, so expect some variance in which version you pull.

For a full breakdown of how to unlock the base Llama Sprite and maximize those weapon upgrade odds, the Lootin' Llama Sprite unlock guide covers every step in detail.

The bigger picture: 20 Sprites, 111 total

The July 30 patch pushed the total collectable Sprite count in Fortnite to 111. That number alone signals how central the Sprite system has become to Chapter 7 Season 3's progression loop. Five new Sprite powers were introduced alongside the cosmetic variants, with the John Wick Sprite revealing nearby enemies on knock, the Ironmouse Sprite regenerating health with a Cloak bonus, and the Quack Sprite variants sharing XP across your entire Sprite inventory.

The rarest addition is the Quack Zero Point Sprite, earned as a Level 55 Mastery reward rather than a chest drop. Mastering 55 Sprites to unlock it is a serious time investment, but it is free, which is the kind of progression Epic has been leaning into hard this season.

With the Peely and Quack Sprites also joining the roster this update, there is a lot to track. The Peely, Llama, and Quack Zero Point Sprites release guide covers every rarity tier and ability detail for all three new additions if you want the full picture before dropping in.

What this means for your loadout

The Llama Sprite fits naturally into aggressive looting playstyles. Players who push buildings early and burn through ammo boxes will see the most value from the weapon upgrade proc. At max level, a 20% chance per ammo box is strong enough to influence how often you walk away from a POI with upgraded weapons without spending any crafting resources.

Epic has not announced any plans to vault the Llama Sprite before the season ends, so there is no urgency beyond the standard chest RNG grind. Start farming Relic Chests now and check the full Fortnite guides collection for the rest of the Chapter 7 Season 3 Sprite roster as more variants potentially unlock through future events.
