When Is the Rust November 2026 Force Wipe?

The Rust November force wipe is on Thursday 5 November 2026, at around 19:00 UK time , which is 19:00 UTC now that the clocks have gone back. With 451 hours in Rust, almost all of it solo and PvE, wipe day itself isn't what brings me back. What brings me back is seeing someone do something in PvE that I haven't done or seen before.

So this is the November wipe from that side of the game: what's changed since last time, how the farming and genetics work, and why PvP has never been the draw.

When Is the Rust November 2026 Force Wipe?

The Rust November force wipe is on Thursday 5 November 2026. Force wipes land on the first Thursday of the month at around 19:00 UK time. Because UK clocks went back on 25 October, that's 19:00 UTC this time. Low.ms's 2026 wipe schedule has the full calendar, and the rollout can slip by around half an hour.

Facepunch hasn't confirmed yet whether November is a blueprint wipe. Blueprints aren't wiped every month , the last forced one was the Pivot or Die update on 6 November 2025, when Facepunch wrote "Today, we're wiping all Blueprints" and said it wasn't committing to monthly blueprint wipes. Plenty of community servers wipe blueprints on their own schedule anyway, so check your server's info panel before you log in.

Solo or Group Play on Wipe Day?

Solo, mostly. I play most games solo because of when I play, and Rust is no different. On a PvE server, wipe day means a fresh map and a fresh start on your base and farm , without the PvP. Most PvE servers also set their own wipe schedule, and some skip blueprint wipes entirely, so the forced monthly wipe is only part of the picture.

What Did the Rust Livestock Update Add?

Rust's October update was the Livestock update, released on 1 October 2026. It added:

  • Cows , give milk and dung; can be harvested for meat, bones, and leather
  • Sheep , give wool and dung; can also be harvested for meat, bones, and leather
  • Livestock genetics and breeding , Facepunch warns that "the genes won't behave exactly like plants, so old techniques may not apply"
  • A new vendor at the Stables where you sell animals and wool, with payouts that scale with genetic quality
  • A Biofuel Generator that turns organic matter into low grade fuel
  • Stackable sandbags and decorative critters
  • New food items including beef and mutton pies, as listed in PCGamesN's write-up

Facepunch also announced a Halloween update for 22 October.

How Does Rust Farming Genetics Work?

Rust farming genetics works through six gene slots on every plant. You breed better plants by crossbreeding and cloning , that's the part of Rust I keep coming back to. Here's how it works, per Facepunch's Farming 2.0 post and the official farming basics page.

Plant Gene Reference

GeneWhat It DoesGood or Bad
GIncreased growth rateGood
YIncreased yieldGood
HHardiness: survives worse ground conditionsGood
WIncreased water intakeBad

Crossbreeding

Crossbreeding happens in the planter. At the crossbreed stage, a plant compares its genes slot by slot with the plants around it. If enough neighbours carry a different gene in that slot, it overwrites the plant's own gene. Facepunch notes that "negative genes have a stronger crossbreeding weight than positive genes" , which is why one bad plant can ruin a whole box. Community guides like RustGenes put the weights at 0.6 for green genes and 1.0 for red ones.

Cloning

Cloning is how you lock a good strain in. Facepunch confirms that a clone "will inherit the genetics", so once you've bred one plant you're happy with, clone it and fill your planters with copies.

Growth Factors

Growth depends on four conditions: light, water, ground condition, and temperature. The lowest of these sets the pace. Sprinklers handle water, and a Composter turns scraps into fertiliser that raises ground condition to 100%.

Are There Official PvE Servers in Rust?

No , Rust has no official PvE servers. Facepunch's official modes are Softcore and Hardcore, and Softcore still has PvP: it cuts PvP damage by 25%, caps teams at four, and lets you keep half your inventory on death, according to the official game modes page.

Real PvE servers are community-run. Most use a plugin such as TruePVE on Oxide or Carbon, which places them in the Modded tab of the server browser, as GameServerKings' PvE server guide explains.

Why I Don't Play Rust for the PvP

It's never been the PvP. Watching a group of 15 pile onto one player and then celebrate isn't something I find compelling. What stopped me playing last time was running out of things I wanted to do in PvE. What brings me back is seeing someone , in a video or a stream , do something in a PvE mod or even just the base game that I haven't tried before.

Rust isn't short of players either way. SteamCharts shows a peak of 162,249 players in the last 30 days (covering the 1 October wipe), against an all-time peak of 259,646 in January 2025.

If you play solo survival games the same way, I've also written about why 7 Days to Die is still worth it solo and Project Zomboid as a solo game. You can find more coverage on games.gg's Rust page.
