Sony released PS4 firmware update 14.02 on November 4, 2026, bringing security fixes to the console's system software. The release adds no new player-facing features and follows the previous version 14.00 update from September.

PS4 system software update
The previous firmware, version 14.00, arrived in mid-September 2026 as a minor performance update.
System support continues as game availability changes
The PS4 originally launched in November 2013. Sony's console reached approximately 117.2 million units sold as of March 2022, making it the company's second best-selling console behind the PS2, which sold 160 million units worldwide.
Continued firmware updates do not mean every PS4 game is keeping the same support schedule. Call of Duty: Warzone will shut down on PS4 and Xbox One on November 6, following more than six years of service on those platforms. Warzone will remain active on PC and current-generation consoles.
GTA Online remains active on PS4, although some newer content available in the PS5 version is not accessible on the older console.
Sony's November 2026 PlayStation Plus selection also includes PS4 versions of these games:
- Dead Island 2
- Tomb Raider 4-6 Remastered
Both PS4 titles are available to claim through November 30.
