The free-to-play strategy game Wild Forest has introduced a new feature called Campfire that allows players to passively earn Gold, alongside launching a map design contest with NFT prizes. Both updates aim to enhance player engagement in the Ronin-powered game as it continues into its fourth season.

About Wild Forest
Wild Forest is a free-to-play, web3-enabled real-time strategy game that channels the spirit of genre classics like Warcraft and Starcraft. Running on the Ronin blockchain, the game tasks players with expanding from a modest base, harvesting resources, and assembling armies to crush their opponents. Developer Zillion Whales previously rolled out the Forge feature, letting players transform old beta assets into Essence—a resource that unlocks new items in the Forge Shop, which went live shortly after the full game launch.
Wild Forest soft-launched in November 2023 and has steadily added new systems since. The game's first NFT drop arrived on the Ronin blockchain in February 2024, marking its entry into tokenized ownership.

Earn Gold and Lord NFTs
Campfire lets players generate Gold passively without owning any NFTs. Gold fuels unit upgrades, but you need to collect it manually from storage before it caps out and stops producing. Anyone can start earning, but staking Lord NFTs accelerates production and expands storage limits. The catch: bonuses vanish the moment you unstake or sell the NFT.
Gold generation rates by setup:
- Camp: 8 Gold per hour, 600 Gold storage (no Lord required)
- Chateau: 36 Gold per hour, 2600 Gold storage (Rare Lord staked)
- Tower: 90 Gold per hour, 6500 Gold storage (Epic Lord staked)
- Fortress: 180 Gold per hour (Legendary Lord staked)
- Citadel: 360 Gold per hour (Mystic Lord staked)
Storage fills up fast at higher tiers, so regular check-ins are mandatory if you want to keep the Gold flowing. Wild Forest Season 4 just kicked off with bigger leaderboard rewards and Recruitment Centers, adding another reason to keep Lord NFTs staked.

Players looking to create beyond Wild Forest can explore the Faraway Creator Suite, which lets users build and trade assets that work across multiple games in the Faraway ecosystem. The platform opens up earning opportunities through in-game contributions, expanding the reach of web3 gaming creators.
Campfire adds a straightforward passive income loop that rewards frequent logins, while the map design contest gives the community a direct path to contribute creatively and earn exclusive NFTs.
