The Final Ascent update for PEAK is the game's last major content drop, and it adds 10 new badges tied to two brand-new biomes: GLOOM and CITADEL. Each badge has a specific completion condition, and clearing them rewards you with some of the best-looking cosmetics in the game so far. This guide covers every badge, exactly how to complete it, and what you earn for the effort.
How many badges does the Final Ascent update add?
The update adds exactly 10 new badges, split across challenges in the GLOOM and CITADEL biomes, plus a few that span the entire mountain. Some are straightforward progression rewards, while others require deliberate setups or co-op partners. Here's a full breakdown of every badge and how to unlock it.
All Final Ascent badge & how to complete them
Archery badge: how does the trap method work?
The CITADEL biome is full of arrow traps, and the Archery badge turns that hazard into a farming opportunity. Step on a trap to get shot, then interact with the arrow on the correct body part to pull it out. Repeat this 10 times in a single expedition. There's no shortcut here, so find a cluster of traps and work through them methodically.

How to complete the Exorcist badge
The Exorcist badge asks you to burn up the Ghost, but the ghost won't catch fire on its own. You need to activate a fire source near it. Three items work: the Candlestick, the Belltower, or the Faerie Lantern. Position yourself near the ghost and trigger whichever fire source you have available.
Bellringer badge: can you ring all 5 in one run?
Yes, but it takes planning. The Bellringer badge requires you to activate all five Belltowers on the GLOOM map within a single expedition. The Belltowers are spread across the biome, so explore thoroughly before ascending past it. Missing even one means restarting the attempt on your next run through GLOOM.
Hang Gliding badge: what counts as 100m?
The Hang Gliding badge measures horizontal distance traveled in the air. Obtain the Glider from luggage, then find the highest cliff you can reach. Jump and glide without touching the ground until you've covered 100m. Stamina management matters here since running out mid-glide will end your flight prematurely.
Last Resort badge: why does this require co-op?
The Last Resort badge uses the Ritual Dagger, which heals you by sacrificing a teammate. That mechanic only functions in co-op, making this one impossible to complete solo. Get the Ritual Dagger from Ancient Idols or Ancient Luggage, damage yourself down below 25% health, then use the dagger on a willing partner. The single heal needs to cover more than 75% of your total health in one use.

Rule Zero badge: what is the NADIR biome?
This is the most involved badge in the update. Rule Zero requires you to collect four Scout Gems, one from each of these biomes: SHORE, ROOTS, ALPINE, and GLOOM. Place all four gems in the Scout Statue to unlock access to the NADIR biome. Once inside, bind with the Scoutmaster's Soul and return to PEAK to complete the badge. This is a multi-expedition effort if you miss any gems, so keep an eye out for them throughout every run.
For help keeping your team alive long enough to collect all four gems, the PEAK guide on reviving teammates covers every revival method available.
All Final Ascent cosmetic rewards
Every badge earns at least one cosmetic, with most of the harder challenges rewarding a full outfit and matching hat.
The Rule Zero rewards (Starboy Outfit and Starboy Hat) are the most effort-intensive cosmetics in the update, which tracks given the multi-biome gem hunt required to earn them. The Medieval History Knight set is also worth targeting if you want something that looks like it belongs on the CITADEL map.
Which badges should you prioritize?
If you want cosmetics fast, start with Wanderer since it completes automatically when you climb past GLOOM for the first time. Jester is also relatively low-effort since Clown Luggage appears across all biomes, though the random spawn means some runs won't give you three. Save Rule Zero and Last Resort for when you have a reliable co-op partner and enough familiarity with the mountain to reach NADIR consistently.
