Pragmata Guide: How to Beat the Creator Boss

The Creator is the second major boss in Pragmata, and it makes the SectorGuard look like a warm-up act. This giant towers over the entire rooftop arena in the Mass Production Array Sector's version of New York City, and it has enough moves to catch unprepared players completely flat-footed. The good news: once you understand the attack patterns and know when to hack versus when to shoot, this fight becomes very manageable.

Where do you fight the Creator?

The Creator waits at the very end of the Mass Production Array Sector. Before you can even reach it, you need to unlock the large gate in the area by tracking down the nodes scattered across the entire sector. That alone takes time, so treat the node-hunting phase as a chance to prepare.

Before triggering the fight, make a stop at the Shelter. Stock up on healing supplies, check your weapons, and grab any upgrades still available to you. This boss is a significant difficulty spike, and going in under-resourced is the fastest way to repeat the attempt several times over.

Understanding the Creator's core attacks

The Creator uses three main attacks throughout the first portion of the fight. Learning these well before the later-phase additions appear is the foundation of surviving this encounter.

Hand swipes cover a wide horizontal arc. The natural instinct is to back away, but that usually gets you clipped by the edge of the swing. Instead, dodge into the attack to take advantage of the brief invulnerability window during the dodge animation.

Arena charges see the Creator rushing across the space at speed. The key detail here: you do not need to dodge the whole boss, only its limbs. As long as you avoid direct contact with any limb during the charge, you can weave through without taking damage.

The laser attack comes in two forms. When the Creator is stationary, it drags the beam across the arena in a wide sweep. Dodge into this one, same principle as the hand swipe. When the Creator fires the laser during a charge, the beam is narrower and aimed directly ahead. Stay to either side of the boss's path rather than trying to outrun it head-on.

Where is the Creator's weak point?

The Creator's face is your primary damage target for most of the fight. When the boss opens up, it exposes a Weakpoint on its underside, which deals more damage but sits at an awkward angle. The Freeze Hacking Node is the most reliable way to lock the Creator in place long enough to land clean shots on that underside Weakpoint.

How does the hacking system work against the Creator?

The Creator actively fights back against Diana's hacking ability as the fight progresses. It starts blocking off hacking panels, and to restore access you need to destroy the glowing sections on its limbs. These appear around the joints and on the head. When the Creator drops to lower health, additional glowing sections appear on its back as well.

Destroying these sections is not optional. Losing access to hacking removes your ability to trigger the Weakpoint opening and significantly reduces your damage output, so prioritize clearing them whenever they appear.

What new attacks appear in the later phase?

Once the Creator reaches lower health, two new attacks enter the rotation.

The first is a Lunafilament wave that sweeps from the back of the arena toward the front. The moment you see the animation start, dash to the opposite end of the arena immediately. There is enough time to clear it if you react quickly, but hesitation will get you hit.

The second is the most dangerous attack in the entire fight. The whole arena glows red during a long charge-up, and if this attack connects it drops you to 1 HP regardless of your current health total. The only way to survive it is to climb the Lunafilament pillars that appear in the arena. Getting to the top of these pillars puts you out of the attack's range.

The tops of those pillars also provide the best angle to target the hacking jammers on top of the Creator, so use that elevated position to deal with both the attack and the jammers simultaneously.

How does the fight end?

Once the Creator's health is fully depleted, the game locks you into a hacking sequence. You need to navigate carefully to the Open node within a strict time limit. Failing this sequence results in death, so treat it as seriously as the fight itself. Read the node layout before committing to a path.

After completing the hacking sequence, the Creator is defeated. The Shelter upgrades, and the next Sector opens up.
