REPLACED - All we know

REPLACED drops you into a neon-soaked dystopia and immediately starts hiding things off the main path. Chapter 1 alone packs 14 collectibles across its connected environments: 12 scans, 1 music track (Lab Rat), and 1 Genetic Profile that functions as a direct HP upgrade. Miss any of them and you are chipping away at your shot at 100% completion before the game has even properly started.

What collectibles are in REPLACED Chapter 1?

According to both gamerhour.net and nerdschalk.com, Chapter 1 contains exactly 14 collectibles split across three categories. The table below breaks down what you are hunting.

Chapter 1 formally begins when the "Job" chapter title appears on screen. The prologue has no missable collectibles, so everything in this guide starts from that point.

How to find every scan in Chapter 1

Scans 1 and 2: Huxley and Med-Stim

Both of these are automatic. Scan #1 (Huxley) and Scan #2 (Med-Stim) trigger in the First Aid area at the chapter's opening. You cannot miss them as long as you interact with the med-stim prompt when it appears.

Scan 3: Survivor's Memoir

Right after the first enemy encounter (against Termite Dale, the game's opening combat target), the Survivor's Memoir scan sits directly ahead on the path. Clear the fight, then grab it before moving on.

Scan 4: The Catastrophe: 20 Years Later

From the Survivor's Memoir location, continue forward into an abandoned shelter. A wall panel on the right side of the room holds this scan. Grab it before climbing to the higher area or you will overshoot it.

Scan 5: Board Game Box

In the area where you fight Termite Kyle, look for an abandoned R.V. The Board Game Box scan is sitting there before you reach the fence you need to climb. Check the R.V. before going vertical.

Scan 6: Goodbye Letter

Near the end of the Termite Kyle section, you hit a railway track. The Goodbye Letter is sitting right in the middle of the road. Hard to miss if you are not sprinting past it.

Scan 7: Eviction Notice

At the diner's car park, find the crashed yellow van. The Eviction Notice scan is in a nearby street spot lit by a lamplight. After collecting the Genetic Profile (covered below), continue right and scan the notice on the wall.

Scan 8: Pawn Shopkeeper's Note

Head into the Tmart area following the nearby fight. The Pawn Shopkeeper's Note is directly in front of you. No detour needed.

Scan 9: Preacher's Diary

After clearing enemies in the warehouse area, jump over a wall to reach a small garden. The Preacher's Diary is sitting there waiting. The wall jump is the only barrier between you and this one.

Scan 10: Portative Battery

This one is story-mandatory. You automatically pick up the Portative Battery scan when you grab the battery in the library area. Carry the battery to the generator and insert it to register the collectible as unlocked.

Scans 11 and 12: Inaugural Address and Archived Poster

After restoring power in the library, climb the stairs instead of heading right. Use the moving shelves to cross the gap and reach the upper level. Scan #11 (Inaugural Address) is near the railing. Scan #12 (Archived Poster) is in the same upper area, so grab both before descending.

Where is the Lab Rat music track?

The Lab Rat music track appears early in Chapter 1, shortly after a platforming section where you cross gaps in a long corridor. Look for the glowing pickup before continuing forward. According to nerdschalk.com, this track counts toward the full soundtrack collection achievements, so grabbing it now keeps your completion progress on track.

Where is the Genetic Profile in Chapter 1?

The Genetic Profile is the most valuable collectible in this chapter because it directly increases your HP stats. You find it in the section where you must avoid a Termite Sniper and navigate past searching headlights. Drop down from the rooftop route and check the left side of the area to pick it up. This profile also contributes to global upgrade-style achievements, according to nerdschalk.com.

Why bother collecting everything in Chapter 1?

Beyond the immediate HP boost from the Genetic Profile, nerdschalk.com notes that Chapter 1 collectibles feed into multiple long-term achievements. The Lab Rat track counts toward a full soundtrack trophy, the 12 scans keep you on pace for an all-scans completion trophy, and the Genetic Profile pushes upgrade-related achievements forward. Scans like Survivor's Memoir and Preacher's Diary also add genuine story context to REPLACED's world, which the game does not hand you through cutscenes alone.

The other practical reason to clean up Chapter 1 thoroughly: the habits you build here carry into later chapters. REPLACED's environments get denser, and a slow, methodical sweep of each new area type is the approach that prevents you from needing to replay sections later.
