Surviving the horrors inside the Rhodes Hill Chronic Care Center comes down to one thing: knowing how to craft. Whether you're playing as Grace Ashcroft or Leon Kennedy, your ability to turn raw materials into ammo, healing items, and throwables is the difference between pushing forward and getting overwhelmed. This guide breaks down every recipe, every material source, and every Blood Collector upgrade you need to stay alive.
How Does Crafting Work
The two playable characters in Resident Evil Requiem handle crafting in completely different ways, and understanding that split early saves you a lot of confusion.
Grace's system is built around biological research. She hunts down Blood Specimens scattered across the Care Center, then runs them through a laser microscope to unlock new recipes. The microscope puzzle asks you to click nodes until every single one turns into a red orb (grey boxes mean you're not done yet). Once a recipe is learned, Grace still needs Infected Blood as a core crafting ingredient, combined with materials like Scrap, Empty Bottles, and Empty Injectors.
Leon's system skips the lab work entirely. He just gathers Scrap and Gunpowder (Small or Large) and combines them to produce ammo and grenades. No puzzles, no blood collection. Simple and direct.
Both characters can combine Green Herbs freely without needing to learn any recipe first.
Leon cannot use an item box to manage inventory. Sell unwanted weapons through the supply box to free up space, and craft ammo regularly so Scrap and Gunpowder don't pile up.

How to Collect Infected Blood as Grace
Before Grace can craft most of her items, she needs the Blood Collector tool, which is found inside the Blood Lab in the East Wing of the Care Center. Once you have it, three sources keep your supply topped up:
- Defeated enemies: Certain zombies leave blood spatters on the ground after you put them down.
- Environmental sources: Bloodstains on floors, buckets of blood, and overflowing bathtubs scattered throughout the facility.
- Transfusion Bags: Consumable items that refill the Blood Collector up to its current maximum capacity (they cannot push you past the cap).
How to Increase the Blood Collector's Limit
The Blood Collector starts capped at 100 units of Infected Blood. Two upgrades can raise that ceiling, and both are worth chasing.
With both upgrades active, Grace's Blood Collector holds 200 units, which gives you much more flexibility when crafting expensive items like Stabilizers (130 Infected Blood each).
Prioritize farming Antique Coins early in each playthrough so you can grab the Matsuoka Override Manual from the Parlor before you hit the mid-game crafting wall.

Where to Find Grace's Blood Specimens
Three Blood Specimens are hidden across the Care Center. Analyze each one at a laser microscope (there's one in the Blood Lab and another in the second-floor Office) to unlock the associated recipes.
Blood Specimen #1: Denatured
- Location: Inside the Blood Lab itself.
- Unlocks: Handgun Ammo crafting and Hemolytic Injectors
Blood Specimen #2: Reversible
- Location: Storage room adjacent to the Blood Lab. Requires the Level 1 ID Wristband from the East Wing's second floor.
- Unlocks:Steroids (permanently raises Grace's max health) and Stabilizers (improves gun handling and firepower)
Blood Specimen #3: Converged
- Location: The Closet next to the Waiting Room, also opened with the Level 1 ID Wristband.
- Unlocks:Med Injectors and 12.7x55mm Ammo for the Requiem weapon
The 12.7x55mm Ammo requires Rare Metals rather than Scrap. Rare Metals come from locked drawers, so keep your Lockpicks handy whenever you spot one.
Grace's Remaining Crafting Recipes
Two more recipes appear as readable documents later in the campaign. No microscope puzzle required for these.
- Crafting Recipe (Basement): Found in the Bunkroom inside the Care Center Basement. Unlocks Molotov Cocktails.
- Crafting Recipe (ARK): Found in the Monitor Control Room aboard the ARK during Grace's segments. Unlocks the Bottle of Acid and additional items.

Leon's crafting table is refreshingly clean. Combine Scrap with the right Gunpowder type and you're good to go.

What's the Best Crafting Priority for Each Character?
With limited resources, knowing what to craft first keeps you out of trouble.
For Grace, Hemolytic Injectors are your early MVP since they're the only reliable way to put down the roaming East Wing monster (you need three of them). After that, stockpile Handgun Ammo and save your Empty Injectors for Steroids or Stabilizers depending on your playstyle. Molotov Cocktails become essential once you unlock them, especially for crowd control.
For Leon, keep crafting Handgun Ammo consistently so your Scrap and Gunpowder don't clog your inventory. Once you pick up the MSBG 500 shotgun, shift some Large Gunpowder toward Shotgun Shells for tougher encounters. Hand Grenades and Stacked Hand Grenades are situational but powerful when corridors get crowded.
Don't convert Antique Coins into Scrap unless you're completely out of options. Coins are far more valuable spent on the Matsuoka Override Manual or traded for other upgrades at the West Wing slot machines.
Armed with every recipe unlocked, Blood Collector maxed, and materials flowing, you'll turn the Care Center's nightmares into target practice. Prioritize those early Specimens for Grace, craft ammo non-stop for Leon, and never let resources sit idle, as survival is in your hands now.
