Running out of inventory space in Resident Evil Requiem is one of the most punishing feelings in the game. You spot a crucial healing item, but your slots are already packed. For Grace especially, those starting eight inventory slots disappear fast once you factor in a pistol, ammo, a knife, and even one or two healing items. Fortunately, the game gives you ways to push past that limit, and knowing exactly when and where to grab each upgrade can make the difference between a smooth run and a desperate scramble.
How Does Inventory Work in Resident Evil Requiem?
The two playable characters, Grace Ashcroft and Leon Kennedy, manage inventory in completely different ways. Understanding each system is the first step to staying organized throughout the campaign.

Resident Evil Requiem Inventory Guide: Every Hip Pouch Location
Grace's Inventory System
Grace starts with just eight inventory slots, which sounds manageable until you realize how quickly those fill up. A pistol, spare ammo, the Hemolytic Injector, a Makeshift Knife, and a couple of Green Herbs will eat through your space almost immediately. Grace also relies on storage crates scattered around the map to deposit items she can't carry, letting her retrieve them later.
The only way to permanently expand her carrying capacity is by collecting Hip Pouches. Each one adds two additional inventory slots, and with all pouches found, you can double her starting capacity from eight slots up to sixteen.
Hip Pouches do not carry over into New Game+. If you restart the campaign to chase harder difficulties or trophies, you will need to track them down all over again.
Leon's Inventory System
Leon operates with a traditional attaché case, giving him noticeably more room from the start. His inventory expands through the Supply Box, a shop system that unlocks once you power up the Central Camp in East Raccoon City. From the Supply Box's buy menu, you can purchase a Case Upgrade using credits earned by defeating enemies and collecting Tracking Modules.
Leon can also sell weapons he no longer needs through the Supply Box (with a small credit loss) and repurchase them later, which is a clean way to free up slots without permanently losing anything.
Where Are All the Hip Pouches in Resident Evil Requiem?
There are four Hip Pouches hidden across the main story, though some sources note three collectible ones plus one near the end. Here is every location broken down clearly.

Resident Evil Requiem Inventory Guide: Every Hip Pouch Location
Hip Pouch #1 – Rhodes Hill Care Center (Parlor Room)
Location: Parlor Room, West Wing, Ground Floor Requirements:Ruby Relic (to unlock the Parlor door) and 3x Antique Coins
This is the first pouch you can grab, and you should make it your top priority. The Parlor Room door sits locked in the West Wing, requiring you to slot the Ruby Relic (also called the Red Jewel from the Unicorn Trinket Box in some accounts) into the inlaid slot on the door.
Once inside, you will find four lockers that each require Antique Coins to open. The Hip Pouch is the first locker and costs 3 Antique Coins. You can find coins scattered throughout the Care Center, including in the central Safe Room, at the base of the East Wing staircase, and inside various safes around the building.
The other lockers in this room offer upgrades to your max health, firearm power, and blood collection capacity, all worth grabbing when you have extra coins.
Prioritize the Hip Pouch locker first before spending Antique Coins on anything else. More inventory space pays off immediately and carries value through the rest of the Care Center.
Point of No Return: Collect this before using the three keys to exit the Care Center.
Hip Pouch #2 – Rhodes Hill Care Center (Storage/Filing Room)
Location: Storage Room (or Filing Room), West Wing, Ground Floor Requirements:Level 1 Security Band (also called ID Wristband Level 1)
You will almost certainly walk past this locked door on your first pass through the West Wing. A security lock blocks entry, and you cannot open it until you find the Level 1 Security Band at the top of the staircase in the East Wing.
Once you have the band, backtrack to the locked door (it should be marked on your Map if you have already passed it) and head inside. The Hip Pouch sits on a table inside the room. You will also spot a dresser with a wedged door that Leon can open later during his section.
Point of No Return: Grab this before unlocking the door with the three keys and leaving the Care Center.

Hip Pouch #3 – Rhodes Hill Care Center (Basement)
Location: Basement Requirements:Forklift Key and 2x Power Cells
You will recognize this area instantly. It is the basement room with the river of blood and the giant grinder. Once you pick up the Forklift Key from the floor, use it right away to raise the nearby forklift platform. The Hip Pouch is sitting in the room behind that raised platform.
Point of No Return: You must grab this before inserting all three Power Cells into the cell block. Once all three are slotted in, you cannot return to this area.
Hip Pouch #4 – The ARK (Bioweapon Repository 5)
Location: Bioweapon Repository 5, ARK Requirements: None
This final pouch comes late in the game during Grace's section inside the secret ARK facility. From the door that requires two orbs to open, head down the stairs to the west. You will enter a large warehouse area called Bioweapon Repository 5, filled with large containers that can be opened by interacting with their control panels.
Activate the control panel on the container directly in front of you at the bottom of the stairs, and you will find the last Hip Pouch inside.
Best Strategy for Managing Grace's Inventory
Even with all four Hip Pouches collected, Grace's space remains tight compared to Leon. Here are the habits that will keep you from getting stuck.

Resident Evil Requiem Inventory Guide: Every Hip Pouch Location
- Keep only one pistol. Multiple pistols of the same type waste slots. Pick your favorite and stick with it.
- Always carry Scrap and Infected Blood. These are your crafting essentials. Scrap combines with Infected Blood to produce ammo and injectors, so never leave them behind.
- Maintain a full tank of Infected Blood. You will want it on hand the moment you find useful crafting materials.
- Use storage crates actively. Deposit anything you do not need immediately and retrieve it when the situation calls for it.
- Combine Green Herbs whenever possible. A combined herb takes one slot but heals far more than a single plant.
Do not hoard multiple weapons of the same category. Grace's limited slots make carrying redundant firearms a costly mistake that will leave you short on healing items when you need them most.
Leon's Case Upgrades
Once you power up the Central Camp in East Raccoon City, the Supply Box becomes available as Leon's personal shop. Inside the buy menu, you will find the Case Upgrade option, which permanently adds more slots to his attaché case for a credit cost.
Leon earns credits by killing enemies and collecting Tracking Modules found throughout his sections. Since weapons occupy significant space in the attaché case, selling guns you rarely use through the Supply Box is a smart way to keep things tidy. You can repurchase those weapons later if needed, though you will take a small credit hit on the buyback.
Body armor upgrades from the Supply Box are also worth grabbing early in Leon's segments, ideally before spending credits on gun upgrades, since the protection they provide helps you absorb hits and conserve healing items.
Mastering Inventory
With all four Hip Pouches secured for Grace and Leon's Supply Box upgrades unlocked, you'll sail through Raccoon City's horrors without the constant dread of a full inventory. Prioritize those early Care Center grabs, lean on storage crates and smart crafting, and watch your survival odds skyrocket. Catch more of our Resident Evil Requiem guides here.
