The Hollow event brings a hidden challenge to 99 Nights in the Forest, and it is not as straightforward as most Roblox event quests. You need to unlock a secret area, survive a hostile dimension, and collect 20 scattered flowers without dying once. Get it right and you walk away with the 99 Nights in the Forest Badge and 10 Hollow Tickets. Here is exactly how to do it.

The Void portal entrance
How to unlock the Void in 99 Nights in the Forest
The Void is a limited-time area added specifically for The Hollow event. You cannot access it from the start of a run. Three things need to happen first:
- Upgrade your Campfire to Level 3.
- Craft a Map and place it in your camp area.
- Click the Hollow button in the top-left corner of the screen, then select Find the Void.
Once you do that, the Void's location appears on your map. Its position changes every run, so you cannot memorize a fixed spot. Head to the marked location and step inside the portal to get teleported in.
Playing with friends makes the Campfire upgrade faster since you can split tasks. Solo runs work fine but take longer to reach Level 3.
How to collect all 20 Red Flowers in the Void
The moment you spawn inside the Void, two things are right next to you: a map showing the locations of all 20 Red Flowers and the Lantern Zones scattered across the area. Read that map before moving.

Void map with flower locations
Lantern Zones are your lifeline. Inside them, nothing attacks you. Step outside and every enemy in the Void, including the Owl and the Deer, targets you at the same time. The strategy is simple: move between Lantern Zones, grab flowers along the way, and never linger in open space longer than necessary.
The single most important rule: you must collect all 20 Red Flowers in one run. If you die before reaching 20, your progress resets and you get sent back to the main forest with nothing to show for it.
What upgrades should you pick?
Every 3 Red Flowers collected, you choose an upgrade. The order matters less than which ones you pick. Prioritize these:
| Upgrade | Why It Helps |
|---|---|
| Speed boost when collecting a Red Flower | Lets you escape the flower's location faster |
| Speed boost when leaving Lantern Zones | Reduces exposure time in open areas |
| More lanterns spawn on the map | Creates more safe rest points |
| One-shot trees | Some flowers are hidden behind trees; this saves time |
| Low wolf spawn rate | Fewer enemies chasing you in open space |
| Fewer cultists spawn on you | Less pressure while grabbing flowers |
The speed upgrades are the most impactful early on. Getting caught in open space without a movement advantage is how most runs end early.
What do you get for completing the Void challenge?
The moment you pick up the 20th Red Flower, the 99 Nights in the Forest Badge unlocks automatically. No extra steps required at that point.
For the 10 Hollow Tickets, you need to return to The Hollow Hub after finishing the run. The Tickets do not appear in your inventory inside the Void; they are claimed separately at the Hub.
While you are at the Hub, check the area near the 99 Nights in the Forest teleport portal. Interact with the pedestal on the right side to claim the Deer Skull Chain cosmetic item.
Tips for surviving the Void
A few things that separate successful runs from failed ones:
- Plan your route on the Void map before moving. The map shows every flower and every Lantern Zone. Routing between safe zones efficiently is the difference between a clean run and a reset.
- Never stand still in open space. The Owl and Deer do not have long cooldowns. Once they spot you, they close distance fast.
- Prioritize tree-clearing upgrades if flowers are clustered near trees. Some Red Flowers spawn directly behind tree clusters, and without the one-shot upgrade, clearing them costs valuable time.
- Do not skip the lantern upgrade. More Lantern Zones on the map means shorter sprints between safe points, which directly reduces how often enemies catch you.
The Void is genuinely punishing on the first attempt because the layout is unfamiliar. Once you understand the Lantern Zone system and route your path properly, collecting all 20 flowers becomes manageable.
What else can you earn in The Hollow event?
99 Nights in the Forest is one of several Roblox games participating in The Hollow. If you are working through multiple event games, there is plenty more to collect. The Helping Happy event guide for 99 Nights in the Forest covers the separate Happy questline with its own badges and rewards. For a breakdown of every Fire Offering in the game and what each one does, the 99 Nights in the Forest offerings guide ranks them all by effect and explains how to buy them from the Sketchy Salesman.
