Picking the wrong weapon in Clover RPG does not just slow your progression — it actively works against your build. The Ceremonial Greataxe hits for 23 damage while the Dull Dagger scrapes out 5. That gap is real, and knowing where every weapon sits before you invest your proficiency levels saves a lot of backtracking. This guide covers every Light, Medium, and Heavy weapon in Roblox Clover RPG, ranked from S to D tier with full damage, range, and proficiency stats included.

How does the Clover RPG weapon tier list work?

Weapons are ranked within their own category first. An S-tier Light weapon and an S-tier Heavy weapon serve completely different builds, so sharing a tier does not make them interchangeable. The three stats that matter most for every ranking are DMG (base damage per hit), Range (how far the weapon reaches), and Required Proficiency (the minimum level before you can equip it).

Proficiency requirements matter more than they look. A weapon with a higher damage number but a Proficiency 8 requirement is not automatically better than something you can equip at Proficiency 3 with strong base stats. Early upgrades like the Highland Axe (19 DMG, Proficiency 3) prove this point clearly.

S tier: The best weapons in Clover RPG

S-tier weapons lead their categories in damage output, reach, or a combination that makes them hard to replace.

Best Light weapons (S tier)

Clover Gauntlets are the standout Light weapon. At 18 DMG, 8.25 Range, and Proficiency 5, they represent a massive jump over the Bronze Ironclad Gauntlets and Rose Ironclad Gauntlets, which both sit at 11 DMG with the same proficiency requirement. Same bar to entry, dramatically better output.

Luminous Thorn (15 DMG, Range 9, Proficiency 6) and Elderthorne (14 DMG, Range 9, Proficiency 6) are the top reach-focused Light options. Luminous Thorn edges ahead on raw damage; Elderthorne counters with a slightly higher attack speed and the fact that it can be crafted. If you prefer staying at range rather than getting inside with gauntlets, either of these works.

Best Medium weapons (S tier)

Balmung leads Medium at 17 DMG with 8.5 Range and Proficiency 8. It is the clearest damage benchmark for the category. The Blue Mystbloom Staff and Pink Mystbloom Staff both hit 16 DMG at 8.75 Range with Proficiency 7, giving them a slight range advantage over Balmung if you are not yet at the proficiency cap.

Purple Widowbane and Red Widowbane bring something different: 14 DMG paired with 9.5 Range and Proficiency 6. That reach matches most Heavy weapons, which makes Widowbane the go-to Medium pick for players who want spacing control without committing to a greatsword.

Best Heavy weapons (S tier)

Heavy weapons dominate the raw damage ceiling. Ceremonial Greataxe has the highest listed damage in the entire game at 23, with 9.5 Range and Proficiency 8. Mournblade sits one point behind at 22 DMG, matches the range, and has a higher attack speed, making the two weapons a genuine choice rather than a clear winner.

Bone Reaper (19 DMG, Range 10, Proficiency 7) trades a few damage points for the longest reach in the Heavy category and the highest attack speed among Heavy weapons. If landing hits reliably matters more to your playstyle than squeezing out peak damage on each swing, Bone Reaper is worth serious consideration.

A tier: Strong alternatives worth using

A-tier weapons are not second-best in a dismissive sense. Several of them outperform S-tier picks in specific situations or at earlier proficiency levels.

A tier Light weapons

Bloodthorne (13 DMG, Range 7.75, Proficiency 8) has a notably high attack speed, which makes it a pressure-focused alternative to Clover Gauntlets. It gives up reach and a few damage points but rewards aggressive, fast-hitting playstyles. Arachne's Venom Fang (12 DMG, Range 7.75, Proficiency 7) is a craftable option that fills a similar role at a lower requirement.

A tier Medium weapons

Dragnipur (15 DMG, Range 8.5, Proficiency 7) and Skullspire Blade (14 DMG, Range 8.5, Proficiency 6) both offer higher attack speeds than Balmung. If Balmung's heavier timing does not suit your combat rhythm, these two are the natural alternatives. Cinderblade (15 DMG, Range 8.5, Proficiency 5) is the craftable option to aim for before Balmung becomes accessible.

The Purple Hachiman and Red Hachiman (both 14 DMG, Range 8.5, Proficiency 4) are the best early-to-mid Medium options. Lower proficiency requirement, solid damage, and decent speed make them reliable bridges.

B tier: Decent progression weapons

B-tier weapons are not dead weight. They get you through early and mid-game content and several remain useful until a direct upgrade becomes available.

For Light weapons, Skullsplitter (11 DMG, Range 9, Proficiency 5), Winding Thorn (10 DMG, Range 9, Proficiency 3), Bronze Ironclad Gauntlets, and Rose Ironclad Gauntlets (both 11 DMG, Proficiency 5) are the standouts. The Ironclad Gauntlets are fine stepping stones before Clover Gauntlets become available, since the proficiency requirement is identical.

For Medium, Vulcan's Spear (11 DMG, Range 9.5, Proficiency 3) and Kamo Spear (9 DMG, Range 9.5, Proficiency 2) both offer the best reach you can get at low proficiency. Vulcan's Cutlass and Assembly Blade (both 10 DMG, Proficiency 3 and 2 respectively) are usable sword options. The Eldritch Staff (9 DMG, Range 8.75, Proficiency 2) is a reasonable early staff pick before Mystbloom becomes available.

For Heavy, Buster Sword (17 DMG, Proficiency 3) and Vulcan's Greatsword (16 DMG, Proficiency 3) are the most accessible early big-damage options. Carnage Cleaver and Splinterspike (both 18 DMG, Range 9.5, Proficiency 6) have appealing stats but face tough competition from Mournblade and Ceremonial Greataxe at similar proficiency levels.

C and D tier: Starter gear only

C-tier weapons are what you use at the very beginning. Dull Gauntlets (6 DMG, Proficiency 1), Dull Rapier (6 DMG, Proficiency 1), Assembly Fang (7 DMG, Proficiency 2), Legendary Kata (6 DMG, Proficiency 1), Novice Blade (6 DMG, Proficiency 1), and Rustic Spear (6 DMG, Range 9.5, Proficiency 1) all fall here. Rustic Spear is worth noting for its 9.5 reach at Proficiency 1, which makes it the best starter if you plan to go Medium.

The only D-tier weapon is the Dull Dagger at 5 DMG, Range 7.5, Proficiency 1. It is the weakest weapon in the game by damage and has no redeeming range advantage. Replace it as soon as possible.

Which starting weapon should you choose?

Speak to Chief Farris in Kamo Village, then visit Vulcan the blacksmith to pick your starting weapon. The four options are Gauntlets (Light), Novice Blade (Medium sword), Longsword (Heavy), and Rustic Spear (Medium spear).

Based on raw stats, Rustic Spear is the best Medium starting pick because its 9.5 Range beats Novice Blade's 8.5 at identical damage and scaling. For Heavy, the Longsword gets you into the most damage-dominant weapon class early. For Light, Gauntlets set you on the path toward Clover Gauntlets, which are one of the best weapons in the game at a relatively accessible Proficiency 5.

What races and traits work best with weapon builds?

The Lesser Demon race has the strongest physical damage ceiling for melee builds. Its Wrath Unbound passive adds 2.5% physical damage per melee hit landed without taking a hit, stacking up to 10 times. That rewards consistent, clean play rather than just spamming the fastest weapon available. Reach and recovery matter as much as raw speed when you are trying to maintain a stack.

Eldritch offers a simpler alternative: an unconditional 2.5% physical damage bonus alongside extra Health and Resolve. No stack management required.

For traits, the most relevant picks for weapon-focused builds are:

  • Weapons Expert: 50% faster weapon proficiency gain, which directly accelerates your access to higher-tier weapons.
  • Graceful Escape: Adds 10% dodge frames, supporting the defensive play Lesser Demon's stacking mechanic demands.
  • Liver Shot / Follow Through / Deceptive Momentum: All tied to Misdirect, useful for builds that incorporate that ability into their rotation.
  • Critical Aerial: Makes aerial M2 attacks block-break, adding a pressure option for aerial combat.

Flame builds also have a weapon synergy worth noting: the Amplified Wrath trait increases M1 damage against burning targets, which means landing weapon hits after applying fire effects could compound damage in ways that pure weapon stats alone do not reflect.

How do weapon types compare across categories?

CategoryDamage ceilingRange ceilingLowest proficiency req.Best early pick
Light18 (Clover Gauntlets)9 (Luminous Thorn, Elderthorne)1Winding Thorn (Proficiency 3)
Medium17 (Balmung)9.5 (Widowbane, Trishula, Spears)1Rustic Spear (Proficiency 1)
Heavy23 (Ceremonial Greataxe)10 (Bone Reaper, Primeval Battleaxe)1Highland Axe (Proficiency 3)

Heavy weapons dominate raw damage and range. Light weapons win on attack speed. Medium weapons sit in the middle with the widest variety of reach options. None of the three categories is universally superior — your race, traits, and grimoire determine which category actually fits your build.

For players building around Grimoires and magic, pairing a weapon build with strong spell books can significantly raise your damage ceiling. The Clover Origins grimoire tier list ranks every magic type from SS to C tier across PvP and PvE, while the Clover Time grimoire tier list covers spell book rankings for a different Clover series entry if you want to compare approaches.

If you play other Roblox combat games and want to see how weapon ranking frameworks translate across titles, the Cursed Blade tier list covers weapons, skills, races, and accessories in a comparable format.
