Chapter 2 of Dress to Impress's Tales of the Dark King drops you inside a Mansion with a ticking clock. The timer runs to 7:00 AM, and if you haven't placed all three Medallions at the base of the Courtyard Statue before it expires, you're stuck. The puzzles are partially randomized, so knowing the structure matters more than memorizing a single fixed solution. Here's everything you need to get out.

Place all medallions at the statue
What are the three Medallions you need to escape the Mansion?
The three Medallions are the Calchas Medallion, the Artemis Medallion, and the Athena Medallion. Each one requires solving a separate puzzle chain, and all three must be placed at the base of the Courtyard Statue to open the underground passage that lets you escape. Completing them in order is the only practical path, since the Calchas puzzle unlocks access to the areas required for the other two.
How to get the Calchas Medallion
The Calchas Medallion comes from placing items on six pedestals in the Courtyard in the correct sequence. That sequence is not handed to you directly. Instead, you need to locate 5 Posters scattered around the Mansion. Each Poster identifies one item and the pedestal number it belongs to.
Where are all 5 Poster locations?
| Poster | Location |
|---|---|
| 1 | Left end of the Courtyard |
| 2 | Right end of the Courtyard |
| 3 | Room on the right side of the Courtyard, look right upon entering |
| 4 | Same right-side room, walk to the far end and check the left wall |
| 5 | Room on the left side of the Courtyard (the Dial puzzle room) |
With all five numbers mapped to their items, arrange the items on the pedestals in that order. The Calchas Medallion appears once the placement is correct. Carry it directly to the Courtyard Statue and place it there. This unlocks the Agamemnon Bedroom, accessible from the Courtyard.
How to get the Artemis Medallion
The Artemis Medallion runs through a multi-step chain connecting the Agamemnon Bedroom, a secret tile room, and the Dial puzzle room.
Step 1: Enter the Agamemnon Bedroom
After placing the Calchas Medallion on the Statue, the Agamemnon Bedroom unlocks. Go inside and collect two things: the Pynx from a box, and the clue on the bed. The bed clue displays a tile pattern unique to your session. Screenshot it before moving on.
Step 2: Find the secret room
Head back to the room where Poster 4 was located (the far end of the right-side Courtyard room). Step on the floor tiles in the exact sequence the bed pattern specifies. A hidden passage opens when you get it right. Go down into the secret room to collect the first dial clue, a number you'll need for the next step. At the far end of the same secret room, a pedestal holds a key. Grab it.
Step 3: Open the locked Courtyard door
The key opens the only Courtyard door that has been inaccessible until now, the first door on the left from the pedestal puzzle. At the far end of that room, near the Lion Statues on the ground, is the second dial clue. Note this number down before leaving.
Step 4: Solve the Dial puzzle
Return to the Poster 5 room on the left side of the Courtyard. A turn dial with multiple layers sits at the center. Spin the first two layers to match your two clue numbers. Each layer turns gold once it hits the correct value. The third layer has no associated clue, so keep turning until it also turns gold. When all three layers are gold, a placeholder appears carrying the Artemis Medallion.
Place the Artemis Medallion on the Courtyard Statue. This unlocks the Pynx box back in the Agamemnon Bedroom.
How to get the Athena Medallion
With both previous Medallions placed on the Statue, return to the Agamemnon Bedroom and pick up the Pynx. Carry it to the chamber where you found the second dial clue, the room containing the Lion Statues. Place the Pynx inside. A cutscene plays, and the Athena Medallion appears in front of the central pedestal in that same room. Pick it up.
How do you escape the Mansion after getting all three Medallions?
Return to the Courtyard Statue and place the Athena Medallion at its base alongside the other two. With all three Medallions fixed in place, an underground passage opens beneath the Statue. Enter it to complete the escape and finish Chapter 2 of Tales of the Dark King.
Quick reference: Medallion order and requirements
| Medallion | Key Puzzle | Unlocks |
|---|---|---|
| Calchas | 5 Posters + pedestal item order | Agamemnon Bedroom |
| Artemis | Tile pattern + 2 dial clues + 3-layer dial | Pynx box in Agamemnon Bedroom |
| Athena | Place Pynx near Lion Statues | Underground escape passage |
