Bellona's Waraxe Rod is one of the most visually distinct rods in Fisch right now. It looks like a flaming battle axe, it catches two fish simultaneously, and it sits behind one of the game's more involved unlock sequences. Getting it means traveling past Atlantis into a brand-new area called Bellona's Frenzy of War, completing two separate quests, finishing the full Bestiary, and spending 5,000,000 C$. That's a serious commitment, but the stats and the design make it worth the grind.
How do you reach Bellona's Frenzy of War?
Before any quests begin, you need to get to the right location. The path runs through several zones in sequence, so follow these steps exactly.
- Start at Moosewood Village, spawn a boat, and sail toward the Grand Reef.
- At the Grand Reef island, jump into the hole in the center and dive down until you reach Atlantis. You need the Heart of Zeus equipped for this section.
- From Atlantis, continue descending into the Sunken Depths, then dive again until the zone transitions to Bellona's Frenzy of War.
danger
The Heart of Zeus is required to enter Atlantis. Without it, you cannot progress past this point regardless of how far you've swum.
Once you arrive at Bellona's Frenzy of War, two Soldier Statues are waiting with separate quests. Both must be completed before the cave holding the rod opens.

War Surge pool for shards
Quest one: finding the Royal Helmet
The first Soldier Statue is near the spawn point in Bellona's Frenzy of War. Interact with it and it asks you to return its missing Helmet. To get the Helmet, you first need to place all five Bellona's Swords on the Sword rack, which then opens a cave containing the Royal Helmet.
The good news: you don't need to make multiple trips back to the rack. Collect all five swords, open your inventory, and place them all at once. The cave entrance opens immediately after.
Once you have the Royal Helmet from inside the cave, return it to the Soldier Statue to complete this quest. Pay close attention to the cave interior, because there's a second door in there that stays locked for now. You'll need it later.
info
While collecting the five swords, note the exact location of that second locked door. You'll be returning to it after completing the shield fragment quest, and it's easy to lose track of in the layout.
Quest two: collecting all five Shield Fragments
The second Soldier Statue sits on the opposite side of the fishing pool from the first. This quest asks you to gather five Shield Fragments, each with a distinct name and location:
The War Surge is the key timing element here. When the fishing pool turns red, two shards become available from that pool, so stay alert for the visual cue rather than fishing at the normal pool and wondering why only one shard drops.
After collecting all five, return to the Soldier Statue and hand them over. That second locked door in the cave from quest one will now be open.
warning
You need to complete the entire Bestiary before you can purchase the rod, even after both quests are done. If your Bestiary isn't finished, the 5,000,000 C$ purchase won't be available yet. Plan accordingly.Bellona's Waraxe Rod stats
Here's the full stat breakdown for the rod, sourced from the item description in-game:
Beyond the raw numbers, the rod has three passive effects that set it apart from standard gear:
- 20% chance to catch the Bellona's Furry mutation on any fish
- 30% chance per fish movement to stab for +10% progress toward the catch
- Ability to cast hooks that catch two fish simultaneously via a minigame
The 150% Luck stat combined with the mutation chance makes this one of the stronger rods for players targeting rare catches. The dual-hook mechanic is genuinely useful for grinding the Bestiary faster, which is a bit ironic given that you need a complete Bestiary to buy it in the first place.

Is Bellona's Waraxe Rod worth the grind?
After testing the full unlock sequence, the answer is yes, with one caveat: the Bestiary requirement is the real time sink here, not the quests themselves. The two Soldier Statue missions are straightforward once you know the locations. Farming all 12 fish in Bellona's Frenzy of War to complete that section of the Bestiary will take longer than both quests combined.
For players who already have a near-complete Bestiary, this rod is an easy priority. The 1,000,000 kg Max Kg cap, 150% Luck, and the dual-hook cast make it one of the best rods available in the current content update. The flaming axe aesthetic is just a bonus.
