The Stellarwave Melody is a Stage 8 rod in Roblox Fisch, and its mastery track is one of the more demanding progression paths in the game. Six quests stand between you and the Nullwave Skin, plus a handful of permanent stat buffs that make the rod noticeably stronger. None of it counts until you own the rod, so get that sorted first.
How do you unlock Stellarwave Melody mastery?
Mastery only becomes available after you have the rod in your inventory. The Stellarwave Melody is obtained from Lyren, an NPC in a side room at Boreal Hollow during a Celestial Congregation event. You need to be at least level 1000 to acquire it, and you need to complete Lyren's questline through the Astral Observatory route first.
Once you have the rod, equip it and open the mastery or progression screen. The six quests will appear as your checklist. Keep the rod equipped throughout, because the mastery counters only advance while you are actively fishing with it.

What is the Zodiac Wheel and why does it matter?
Every catch with the Stellarwave Melody triggers the Zodiac Wheel minigame. Twelve zodiac signs appear both above and on the fishing bar. The row above the bar runs Aries through Pisces in fixed order, while the signs on the bar shuffle with each catch. Picking the correct sign gives 3% progress per selection. Landing the 4th, 8th, and 12th correct signs in a row stacks bonuses to weight, progress, resilience, and progress speed.
Getting comfortable reading the wheel early pays off directly in Quest 1, and the skill carries through the entire mastery path.

Fisch Stellarwave Melody Rod Mastery Guide: All Quests & Rewards
Quest 1: Tuning the Tides
Pick the correct star sign four times consecutively within a single minigame, and repeat that four-pick sequence 88 times across separate catches. All four picks must be correct in the same catch for the attempt to count. Partial runs do not contribute.
Reward: +0.5s to Zodiac Wheel lifetime, +9 Hunt Focus (Goliath Siphonophore), +100 Durability, +1 Disturbance.
Quest 2: What is that Melody?
Catch 365 Melody fish using the rod. Every fish has an 18.8% chance to roll the Melody mutation, so this is mostly a volume task. Any valid fishing spot works, and the counter advances as long as the mutation is present on the catch.
Reward: Zodiac Glider.
Quest 3: Stellar Synth
Catch 88 Synth fish of Mythical, Exotic, or Secret rarity. Each fish has an 8.8% chance to carry the Synth mutation, but the mutation alone is not enough. The fish must also hit one of those three rarity tiers. Common or Rare Synth catches will not move the counter.
Reward: Piano Bobber.
Quest 4: The Sequel
Directly catch 24 Spectral Serpent that carry either the Melody or Synth mutation. These fish live in the Brine Pools inside Desolate Deep. Reaching the Brine Pools requires both Desolate Deep access and a glider. Use Truffle Worm bait, and aim for Clear Weather at Night to maximize your chances. Wait for the counter to tick up after each catch before moving on.
Reward: Spectre Title.
Quest 5: Cosmic Crescendo
Catch 12 Goliath Siphonophore tagged as Sparkling Melody or Synth. These only appear during a Goliath Siphonophore Hunt at Boreal Hollow in the Astral Observatory. Bring Squid bait and fish during Clear Weather, Night, and Winter for the best odds. The quest enhancement from completing this one improves Sparkling chance from 5% to 8% (rising to 8-12% during Aurora or Starfall events), adds 5% Aurora chance, and bumps both Melody and Synth chances by 3.6% each.
Reward: Sparkling, Aurora, Melody, and Synth chance enhancement.
Quest 6: Aurora Inception
Directly catch 108 Aurora Gar or Aurora Trout with the rod. The two species are in separate locations, so plan your travel accordingly.
- Aurora Trout: Cryogenic Canal
- Aurora Gar: Boreal Pines Astral Cavern
Reward: Aurora Bait x108 and a Stellar Compass.

| Cosmic Crescendo | Sparkling, Aurora, Melody, and Synth chance enhancement |
| Aurora Inception | Stellar Compass and Aurora Bait x108 |
| Grand Reward (all 6) | Nullwave Skin |
How do you confirm mastery is complete?
Each quest marks itself done when its counter hits the target and delivers the listed reward. After all six counters fill, the Nullwave Skin unlocks as the grand reward. Open the mastery or progression view to claim and verify everything, including the skin itself.
One thing worth noting: completing mastery does not unlock the rod's Final Convergence route. That is a separate objective with its own requirements, so treat the two as entirely different goals.
Tips for grinding mastery efficiently
- Track the live mastery counter, not your general catch total. Several quests only count fish with specific mutations or rarities, and the live counter is the only reliable indicator.
- For Quest 4, make sure you have a glider before heading to Desolate Deep. Without one, you cannot reach the Brine Pools at all.
- Quest 5 is time-gated by the Goliath Siphonophore Hunt spawn. If no hunt is active, there is nothing to catch, so check the event board before making the trip to Boreal Hollow.
- Quests 2 and 3 are pure volume. Set up at a reliable spot and keep the rod equipped. Swapping rods mid-session resets nothing, but only catches made with the Stellarwave Melody count.
