To beat the Depth King, track its spawn, bring other players, and save your strongest attacks for openings between its damage-reducing skills.
This Third Sea raid arrived in King Legacy’s Update 11 on Roblox. Its giant-turtle opening leads into an island encounter, followed by a chest room. Your farming decisions continue after the kill: boss materials can accelerate the next spawn, while different pity rules govern repeat material drops and equipment guarantees.
How to find the Depth King
The Depth King appears every three hours, only in the Third Sea. Plan around that cycle before committing to a raid session, especially if you are arranging a group.
Track the spawn with Legacy Pose
Legacy Pose costs 140 Robux in the shop. Hold it to see upcoming boss locations and timers, including the Depth King’s exact spawn location and countdown.
Check the countdown before setting out, then use the displayed location to reach the encounter early. The tracking tool is most useful when you need to coordinate several players without leaving everyone waiting at the boss location.

How to reduce the respawn timer
Materials dropped by the Depth King can shorten the wait for another spawn. On the boss island, find the talking tree NPC near the altar, then make an offering at the green altar.
Follow this sequence:
- Open your inventory and equip an eligible material.
- Offer the equipped material at the green altar.
- Check the updated countdown before deciding whether to offer more.
Compare material offerings
Each material has a fixed timer reduction. The largest reduction comes from the two rare materials, Depth King’s Tail and Ancient Shell.
| Material offered | Timer reduction |
|---|---|
| Depth Scale or Depth Crystal | 1 minute |
| Depth King’s Blood or Turtle Core | 3 minutes |
| Depth King’s Tail or Ancient Shell | 35 minutes |
A single Depth King’s Tail saves as much time as 35 Depth Scales. Choose whether to preserve a rarer drop or spend more common materials, and check the remaining countdown before committing a large reduction.
For repeated farming, keep a clear goal: spending materials prioritizes another boss attempt, while keeping them preserves the rewards from your current clear. Avoid offering a drop automatically just because it provides the biggest reduction.
How to beat the Depth King
The Depth King has 11 million HP, including roughly 1.5 million tied to its damage-absorbing shield. A solo clear can take an estimated 30-60 minutes, so a group is the practical choice for repeat runs.
The encounter has an opening turtle phase before the main island fight. Follow the transition through to the chest room; the turtle diving away is not the end of the raid.
Complete the turtle and island phases
- Attack the curled-up turtle. The boss initially appears tucked inside its shell.
- Reduce it to 1% HP. It then dives beneath the water.
- Continue on the rising island. An island emerges from the sea, and the main fight begins.
- Defeat the boss and enter the chest room. The gate opens after the kill.
Use mobility and time your burst damage
Dragon is a useful option because its reworked Dragon Breath can be held while you move. It lets you keep attacking while repositioning, which suits a long encounter where standing still limits your options.
Some Depth King skills reduce the damage it takes. Save your strongest attacks for openings outside those skills instead of committing an entire burst during a reduced-damage window. If your attacks start dealing less damage, reassess before spending the rest of your heavy-hitting skills.
Your damage contribution improves reward chances. Stay involved throughout the fight and use vulnerable openings to contribute meaningful damage, rather than treating survival alone as the farming goal.
Depth King drops and pity requirements
The drop table below covers six materials and two chest rewards. Depth King’s Armor and Chronicle’s Lore come from the chest, so make sure you enter the room unlocked after the boss dies.
| Drop | Reward source | Drop rate | Pity requirement |
|---|---|---|---|
| Depth Scale | Boss material drop | 22% | 20 |
| Depth Crystal | Boss material drop | 22% | 20 |
| Depth King’s Blood | Boss material drop | 11% | 40 |
| Turtle Core | Boss material drop | 11% | 40 |
| Depth King’s Tail | Boss material drop | 1.1% | 240 |
| Ancient Shell | Boss material drop | 1.1% | 240 |
| Depth King’s Armor | Chest | 1.1% | 240 |
| Chronicle’s Lore | Chest | 1.1% | 240 |
The common materials are easier to replace through normal drops, while the rare materials offer much larger timer reductions. Use the table to weigh the reward you are consuming against the time it saves.
How material pity works
Material pity resets when the relevant material drops, then continues working on later attempts. Getting a material once does not remove its future pity protection.
This makes material farming a repeatable loop, but each successful drop starts that material’s counter again. Check the counter before deciding how close you are to the next guarantee.
How equipment and chest pity differ
Accessory and sword pity is one-time only. Do not plan on receiving a fresh guaranteed equipment drop every time you complete another pity cycle.
The boss chest has five tiers, with separate pity counters. Track the relevant chest counter instead of treating every chest reward as progress toward one shared guarantee.
After each clear, collect the chest-room reward and check your pity progress before deciding whether to spend your new materials on another timer reduction.
