Roblox Scrooms is a monster-taming game where you catch sentient mushrooms, play instruments, and work through a series of quests that open up the world. One of the earliest and most important of these is The Next Step, a multi-part questline that sends you into the Grove to track down a character named Halden and pay your respects at five scattered statues. Complete it and you walk away with the Ocarina, a key item you'll need for the rest of your adventure in Roblox.
This guide covers every step: where to find Halden, where all five Grove Statues are, and exactly how to claim your reward.
How does The Next Step quest start?
The Next Step becomes available after you finish the introductory quests given by Leo. Those early tasks cover the basics: learning to play instruments, catching your first Scrooms, and selling them. Once you've wrapped all of that up, Leo points you toward his uncle Halden as your next contact. From that point on, the guiding arrows disappear, and you're on your own to navigate.
Halden is easier to locate than the quest makes it sound. Head to the center of the Grove and look for a middle-aged man with long hair sitting next to a campfire, flanked by two tents. His camp sits right beside the largest tree in the Grove, which makes it a useful visual landmark. Once you spot that massive tree, his camp is right there.
Talk to Halden to trigger the statue-finding objective. He won't hand over his gift until you've visited all five Grove Statues first.
Where are all 5 Grove Statue locations in Scrooms?
All five statues are within close range of Halden's camp, which makes this quest more manageable than it initially sounds. The tricky part is that the Grove's dense environment can obscure them. Every statue shares the same stone material and sits on a round pedestal, but each one looks slightly different: some are standing, some are seated, and each holds a different instrument.
Scrooms Grove Guide: All Statues Locations
After testing the route multiple times, the two statues that trip players up most consistently are the ones tucked behind heavier tree cover. The other three are visible from Halden's camp if you do a slow 360-degree scan of the surrounding area.
Here's a quick breakdown of what to expect from each statue:

The two harder-to-find statues are behind tree clusters to the north and east of Halden's camp. Hug the treeline in both directions from his campfire and you'll find them. They're not hidden behind puzzles or locked behind timers, just obscured by geometry.
How to get the Ocarina from Halden
Once all five statues show as visited in your quest tracker, head straight back to Halden at his campfire. Talk to him again and he'll hand over the Ocarina as his promised gift. This isn't a cosmetic item: the Ocarina is a key progression tool in Scrooms, so grabbing it early sets you up for the quests that follow.
The whole quest takes under ten minutes once you know the statue locations, making it one of the faster early-game milestones in the game.
important
The Ocarina is a key item tied to later quest progression. Don't sell it or trade it away after receiving it from Halden.
What comes after The Next Step quest?
With the Ocarina in hand, you're ready to move deeper into Scrooms' questlines. The game opens up considerably from this point, with more NPC interactions, expanded catching mechanics, and areas beyond the Grove to explore. Keep talking to every NPC you encounter, since most of the quest triggers in Scrooms are conversation-based rather than marked on a map.
