The Wisp in Roblox Steal an Egg is the gatekeeper for everything new in Update 7. Talk to it inside the Enchanted Forest, complete three quests, and the sealed Enchanted Tree opens up with free gear, a new mutation system, and a butterfly-catching event that most players don't see coming. The catch: you need 50 billion Speed before the Wisp even shows up. No shortcuts, no codes, just the number.

Where is the Wisp in Steal an Egg?

The Wisp sits inside the Enchanted Forest biome, the zone that follows Angels vs Demons in the progression chain. Once you're inside, look for two markers:

  • A yellow circle on the ground near the recommended-speed board at the biome entrance
  • A small golden-yellow glowing spirit floating toward the right side of the area, close to the Enchanted Tree

The biome is packed with glowing mushrooms, lanterns, and particle effects, which makes the Wisp easy to miss on a first pass. If you're on mobile, zoom in before you run laps.

How do you interact with the Wisp?

Walk up to it and press E on PC, or tap the interact button on mobile. A short dialogue plays, and when it ends the Wisp starts following you. A Grow Your Wisp tracker appears on screen with four stages: three quests, then a final return step. That tracker is your quest log for everything below.

How much Speed do you need for the Wisp?

You need exactly 50B (50 billion) Speed. The Wisp will not spawn for any player under that threshold, full stop. The same number also controls whether you can survive the biome itself, because an enchanted Lion guardian patrols the nests and catches anyone too slow to outrun it.

To put that in context, here's how the Speed gates have escalated across biomes:

BiomeSpeed Requirement
Cherry Blossom (Update 1)~2.5B
Titan Temple (Update 2)~7B
Angels vs Demons (Update 4)~20B
Enchanted Forest (Update 7)50B

50B is the current ceiling in the game. If you're not there yet, building income first is the correct move. High-income pets fund Speed upgrades faster than anything else. Check the complete eggs, pets, and income rates guide to see which targets pay off fastest.

What are the three Wisp quests?

The quests run in order and the tracker shows them one at a time. Here's the full chain:

StageQuestLocation
1Steal 20 Enchanted Forest eggsEnchanted Forest nests
2Fuse an Enchanted Forest petBase Fuse Machine
3Steal any Eternal eggAny biome
4Return the Wisp, then enter the treeWisp panel, then Enchanted Tree

Quest 1: How do you steal 20 Enchanted Forest eggs?

Grab eggs from nests inside the biome and carry them back to your base. Same steal-and-run loop as every other zone, just at the 50B tier with a Lion guardian in the mix.

A few things that make it go faster:

  • Plan your escape route before you grab. Know exactly where you're going if the Lion turns toward you.
  • One egg at a time. Carrying two and losing both to the guardian is a net loss.
  • Use the nest refill cycle. While nests reset, fuse duplicates or check income. Don't just stand there.

Every egg you hatch also fills your pet index. The Enchanted Forest has eight pets, including the Prism Gecko, Petal Beetle, Enchanted Bluejay, Astral Jackalope, Spirit Panda, Starry Fox, and Amethyst Runebear.

Quest 2: How does the fusion quest work?

Take three matching Enchanted Forest pets to the Fuse Machine at your base. Three identical Prism Geckos work, but any fusion that uses an Enchanted Forest pet counts. The key point: egg stealing and fusing pull from the same supply. Steal in batches, hatch them, and hold onto duplicates before you fuse anything you want to keep.

If you want a deeper breakdown of how fusing works across the game's rarest tiers, the Secret Fusion Shrine guide covers the mechanics for Eternal and Divine pets.

Quest 3: How do you steal an Eternal egg?

This is where most players stall. Eternal is one of the top rarity tiers in the game, and those eggs don't sit around. When one spawns, the game announces it, so keep notifications visible while you work through quests 1 and 2.

Two things worth knowing:

  • The Eternal egg can come from any biome, not just the Enchanted Forest.
  • The quest registers when the theft registers, but carrying it safely to base is the smart move in case your tracker takes a moment to update.

You'll need enough Speed to outrun whichever guardian protects the spawn where the Eternal egg appears.

How do you unlock the Enchanted Tree after the quests?

Once quest 3 is done, the Wisp reaches Stage 4. A lot of players finish here and then wonder why the tree is still sealed. The answer is a button most people skip:

  1. Open the Wisp panel
  2. Press Return the Wisp
  3. Walk back to the Enchanted Tree
  4. Select Enter Enchanted Tree

The door stays locked until you press Return the Wisp. Don't skip that step.

What do you get inside the Enchanted Tree?

The tree is the payoff for the whole chain. Inside you'll find:

  • A free Butterfly Net (pick this up immediately)
  • A Butterfly Trade Up area (the Conversion Center)
  • The Enchanted Mutation Shrine
  • Two secrets: a hidden musical band and a hidden fusion machine

How does Butterfly Bloom work?

Butterfly Bloom is a recurring event inside the tree. Community reports put it at roughly every 30 minutes, at :15 and :45 past the hour, though this timing has no official written confirmation. When it starts, use your net to catch butterflies, which come in ascending tiers.

The trade-up rates at the Conversion Center:

TradeResult
10 Emerald butterflies1 Sapphire
10 Sapphire butterflies1 Amethyst
50 Amethyst butterflies1 Radiant

Radiant is the top tier and feeds directly into the Enchanted Essence recipe.

What is the Enchanted Mutation?

The Enchanted Mutation Shrine takes butterflies and converts them into Enchanted Essence. One Essence requires:

  • 240 Emerald butterflies
  • 115 Sapphire butterflies
  • 40 Amethyst butterflies
  • 1 Radiant butterfly

One Enchanted Essence applies the Enchanted mutation with a 100% chance to apply. That 100% is the application chance, not an income multiplier. It guarantees the mutation lands on your pet, but how much extra income it generates depends on the mutation itself.

Is the Wisp worth rushing?

At 50B Speed, yes. The Wisp chain is the only path to the Enchanted Tree, and the tree holds every meaningful piece of Update 7 content. The third quest takes the longest, so start watching for Eternal egg spawns early rather than waiting until quests 1 and 2 are done.

Below 50B, build income first. Walking into the Enchanted Forest under-geared gets you chased out and nothing else. For a full breakdown of how to build income fast enough to hit that Speed gate, the Steal an Egg money guide covers the exact income loop to get there.

One more thing: there are no codes for the Wisp, the Enchanted Forest, or anything in Steal an Egg. The game has never had a code system. Any site claiming otherwise is not legitimate.
