To get Sharkman Karate in Blox Fruits, provide the Sharkman Teacher with 400 Water Kung Fu mastery, a Water Key, $2,500,000 in-game money, and 5,000 Fragments. In the Roblox game Blox Fruits, this water-based fighting style gives you stuns, Instinct breaks, and strong combo control. Getting it takes you to Forgotten Island in the Second Sea, where Tide Keeper drops the key. Protecting that drop matters just as much as earning it. Below, you'll find the preparation route, teacher locations, move requirements, and the separate upgrades available through Sharkman Master.

What do you need to unlock Sharkman Karate?
Sharkman Karate has four purchase requirements. You also need access to its teacher in the Second or Third Sea, so you cannot finish the unlock in the First Sea.
| Requirement | What you need | How to get it |
|---|---|---|
| Fighting style mastery | 400 Water Kung Fu mastery | Defeat enemies with Water Kung Fu equipped |
| Required item | Water Key | Defeat Tide Keeper on Forgotten Island |
| In-game money | $2,500,000 | Earn money through activities such as boss and Sea Beast farming |
| Fragments | 5,000 | Complete raids or defeat Sea Beasts |
The Water Kung Fu requirement and the Water Key are separate gates. Having the key does not replace the mastery requirement, and reaching 400 mastery does not remove the purchase costs.
You can prepare Water Kung Fu before reaching the Second Sea. Its teacher is available in the First Sea, giving you a head start on the mastery grind before you hunt Tide Keeper.
How do you reach 400 Water Kung Fu mastery?
Buy Water Kung Fu from the Water Kung Fu Teacher for $750,000 in-game money, then defeat enemies with that style equipped until its mastery reaches 400. This is fighting style mastery, not your character level.
The Water Kung Fu Teacher appears in these locations:
- First Sea: Underwater City.
- Second Sea: The hot side of Hot and Cold.
- Third Sea: Near the portals at Castle on the Sea.
Keep Water Kung Fu equipped while working toward that requirement. If you're still learning combat and island progression, the Blox Fruits beginners guide covers those foundations before you commit to the Sharkman Karate unlock.
How do you get the Water Key safely?
Defeat Tide Keeper, the level 1475 boss at the back of Forgotten Island in the Second Sea. The Water Key is a chance-based drop, so one victory may not be enough. Tide Keeper has a 30-minute respawn time.
Use long-range attacks against Tide Keeper. He can summon a Sea Beast, which adds another threat to the fight. If you already have Portal, its V move provides an escape option when the beast appears.
Where do you take the Water Key?
The Sharkman Teacher is available in both the Second and Third Seas:
| Sea | Island | Teacher location |
|---|---|---|
| Second Sea | Forgotten Island | In front of a house |
| Third Sea | Castle on the Sea | Inside a flat building with a blue roof |
The teacher was called Daigrock, the Sharkman before Update 27.2. The purchase still involves handing over the Water Key and meeting the mastery and currency requirements.
You can give the teacher the Water Key before you have enough mastery or currency, then return to finish the purchase later. If everything else is already ready, complete the unlock during that visit.
How much does Sharkman Karate cost?
The Sharkman Karate purchase costs $2,500,000 in-game money and 5,000 Fragments. Buying Water Kung Fu costs another $750,000 if you do not already own it.
Raids provide Fragments. Sea Beasts provide money and Fragments, while boss farming is another money source. These activities cover the currencies you need without changing the 400 Water Kung Fu mastery requirement.
If you're also saving for a fruit, compare Blox Fruits fruit prices and rarities before spending the money reserved for Sharkman Karate.

Complete the Sharkman Karate unlock
Once you have all four requirements, speak to the Sharkman Teacher and purchase the style. Obtaining it also awards the Sharkman title, numbered #0130.
What does each Sharkman Karate move do?
Sharkman Karate has three abilities, unlocked at 100, 200, and 300 mastery in the style itself. Your earlier Water Kung Fu mastery satisfies the purchase requirement; these are Sharkman Karate's own move thresholds.
| Move | Key | Mastery | Cooldown | Energy | Main effect |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Twelve Water Palms | Z | 100 | 7 seconds | 30 | Rushes forward with six water figures and catches an enemy in repeated palm strikes |
| Pressure Vortex | X | 200 | 11 seconds | 40 | Fires a water shark that traps an enemy in a bubble before it explodes |
| Great Sea Spear | C | 300 | 16 seconds | 75 | Pulls enemies in with a water vortex, then delivers aquatic strikes and a finishing double-palm attack |
How does Pressure Vortex break Instinct?
Pressure Vortex is useful for catching and holding a target, but its tap and held versions handle Instinct differently. The shark's initial strike can be dodged with Instinct; the bubble's second strike breaks it. Holding the move merges the hits and breaks Instinct on contact.
The normal bubble traps its target for about 1 second. Its projectile travels slowly, so hitting a distant, moving opponent requires prediction. The bubble is also single-target, even though Great Sea Spear can grab multiple enemies.
What makes Great Sea Spear different?
Great Sea Spear combines a grab with defensive protection. Holding it grants 70% damage reduction and converts a portion of absorbed damage into temporary health. Incoming damage cannot cancel the move, but it does not grant invincibility frames.
Update 29.2 reworked Great Sea Spear and increased Pressure Vortex's bubble speed by 25%. That defensive hold is a major part of Great Sea Spear's current role: it can interrupt enemy pressure as well as start your own combo. Balance updates can change these properties.
Twelve Water Palms has the shortest cooldown of the three abilities. Its startup breaks Instinct, but the following palm strikes do not. Once upgraded, the added shark also breaks Instinct.
How do you upgrade Sharkman Karate?
Visit Sharkman Master on Submerged Island after reaching character level 2200 and 500 Sharkman Karate mastery. This NPC handles the training and purchases for the upgraded abilities.
Each upgrade needs a specific headband and a separate Fragment payment:
| Ability upgrade | Required item | Fragment cost | Upgrade effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Twelve Water Palms | Yellow Headband | 2,000 | Adds a water shark after the palm rush, carrying the enemy onward |
| Pressure Vortex | Blue Headband | 3,000 | Lets you reposition the trapped enemy's bubble while holding the move and extends the bubble's duration |
| Great Sea Spear | Black Headband | 5,000 | Adds a temporary 35% defensive buff after successfully hitting an enemy |
All three upgrades cost 10,000 Fragments combined, separate from the 5,000 Fragments spent to unlock the style.
Pressure Vortex's upgrade directly improves its control: you can move the bubble with your cursor or finger while holding the ability. Great Sea Spear's upgrade instead adds protection after the attack. Choose based on the mechanic you want rather than treating the three upgrades as identical damage purchases.
The Black Headband has a demanding training requirement: a 100% critical-hit ratio in the Sharkman Master's Fish Fight. Factor that into your plans for Great Sea Spear rather than assuming Fragments are its only obstacle.
Is Sharkman Karate worth unlocking?
Sharkman Karate is worth pursuing for its stuns, Instinct breaks, and combo setup. Raw damage is not its strongest selling point compared with other upgraded fighting styles. Pressure Vortex's control and Great Sea Spear's defensive hold are better reasons to buy it.
Its basic attacks are the compromise. The third hit dashes forward, the hitboxes can be unreliable, and the attack chain has end lag. Water Kung Fu remains a sensible choice for repeated basic-attack grinding, while Sharkman Karate's abilities offer more control in PvP.
There is also a longer-term progression reason to train it: 400 Sharkman Karate mastery is one of the requirements for Godhuman in the Third Sea. If your next goal is a fruit instead, the Blox Fruits Magnet Fruit unlock guide covers that separate progression path.
For the Sharkman Karate unlock itself, finish your preparation before farming Tide Keeper. Having 400 Water Kung Fu mastery and both currencies ready lets you turn the Water Key into your new fighting style without another detour.
