Blueprints are the backbone of progression in Subnautica 2. Every tool you craft and every base part you place requires a blueprint first, and those blueprints are scattered across the ocean floor in crates, abandoned outposts, and wrecked habitats. This guide covers every confirmed blueprint location with exact coordinates so you spend less time wandering and more time building.
What are blueprints and how do they work?
Blueprints unlock crafting recipes. Without them, the items simply don't appear in your Fabricator. You find blueprints by using the Scanner to scan items scattered throughout old colonies and points of interest. Each scan adds the corresponding recipe to your PDA, which you access by opening the PDA and navigating to the Blueprints tab, located beside the Inventory and Signals tabs.
For a full breakdown of how scanning works and what you need to craft the Scanner itself, check out this Subnautica 2 scanner guide covering every recipe unlock.
Most blueprints have two scan locations. If one is blocked or already looted by a teammate in co-op, head to the second coordinate.

PDA blueprints tab overview
All tool blueprint locations
These are the blueprints for craftable tools. Coordinates are listed in the format X, Y, Z.
Flashlight
Recipe: Titanium x2, Quartz x1, Basic Battery x1
Habitat Builder
Recipe: Titanium x2, Glass x1, Basic Battery x1, Copper Wire x1
The Habitat Builder is one of the first things you want to scan. Once you have it, you can start placing base structures, and the guide to building rooms and unlocking blueprints in Subnautica 2 walks through exactly how to expand beyond basic corridors.
Sonic Resonator
Recipe: Basic Battery x1, Titanium Ingot x2, Lead x2, Wiring Kit x1
The Old Habitat is significantly further from the Lifepod than early-game locations. Make sure your oxygen supply and tank capacity are ready before heading 400m North.
Wakemaker
Recipe: Silver x1, Wiring Kit x1, Grease x1, Basic Battery x1
The Wakemaker is one of the few tools with three confirmed scan locations, which makes it easier to find even if two spots are already cleared.
All base part blueprint locations
Base parts require blueprints just like tools do. These are scattered further from the Lifepod on average, so expect some dedicated exploration runs.
Biobed
Recipe: Titanium x3, Glass x1, Copper Wire x1
- -323736, 409359, -1684 (276m North-Northeast of the Lifepod, further inside Camp One, just behind the dining chair)
Bioreactor

Lab Chair
Recipe: Titanium x2
- -203476, 447174, -20868 (1,360m East of the Lifepod, located at the Needler Nest)
The Lab Chair blueprint is at the Needler Nest, over 1,360m East of the Lifepod. This is a late-game run. Don't head there until you have a vehicle and solid equipment.
Power Storage
Recipe: Germanium Ingot x1, Titanium x3
Power Transmitter
Recipe: Titanium x1, Copper x1
- -324518, 396824, -4480 (389m North-Northeast of the Lifepod, inside a crate on top of an abandoned outpost)
Spotlight
Recipe: Titanium x1, Copper x2
Thermal Plant
Recipe: Titanium x3, Copper x3, Gold x3
- -303294, 451415, -30764 (approximately 492m Southeast of the Lifepod, roughly 308m deep, inside a cavern near Blackbox - Zip)
The Thermal Plant blueprint sits about 308m underwater. You need serious depth capability before attempting this one. Plan your dive accordingly.
How should you prioritize blueprint hunting?
The short answer: start with the Flashlight and Habitat Builder, then work outward.
The Flashlight is under your Lifepod, which makes it the most accessible blueprint in the game. The Habitat Builder sits 83-95m Southeast, near the Welcome Center. Both are low-risk runs that pay off immediately.
From there, the Wakemaker and Sonic Resonator push you further North, into territory where threats increase. The Bioreactor blueprints are spread across three locations including the Cicada Wreck, which rewards thorough exploration.
The Power Storage, Spotlight, and Lab Chair blueprints are the longest hauls, sitting over 1,200m East near the Alien Ruins and Needler Nest. Treat those as mid-to-late game objectives.
Knowing which tools to craft once you have the blueprints matters just as much as finding them. The full Subnautica 2 tool crafting guide covering every tool and how to unlock them is worth reading alongside this one.
