Buried past the early survival scramble in Subnautica 2 is one of the game's more rewarding environmental puzzles: a three-stage quest to cure infected Angel Combs scattered across the ocean floor. The payoff is a permanent tolerance to an extreme environmental condition, which makes the effort well worth it. The catch is that the process spans three separate locations, each with its own set of Bloom Infestations to destroy.
What do you need before starting?
Before heading out to any of the three sites, you need the Sonic Resonator in your inventory. This is the only tool that can destroy Bloom Infestations, and it must be crafted at a proper Fabricator (not the basic one on your Lifepod). You'll need the Sonic Resonator blueprint first, so make sure you've tracked that down before making the trip.
If you haven't fully set up your Fabricator yet or need help scanning new items and unlocking crafting recipes, get that sorted first. You won't be able to craft the Resonator without it.
The Sonic Resonator can also be used to drive away hostile aquatic creatures you encounter at the infestation sites. Keep it equipped throughout the entire quest.

How to find and cure all three Angel Combs
The process works in a fixed sequence. Each site triggers the next, so you can't skip ahead.
Stage 1: The Spider Dome (southwest of Lifepod)
From your Lifepod, head southwest. Keep your compass reading between SW and 240 degrees and you'll reach the Spider Dome. Enter through the dome opening and locate the Angel Comb inside. There are 4 parasitic blooms surrounding it. Use the Sonic Resonator on each one to clear them.
Once the last bloom is gone, you'll receive a message prompting you to find the adult Angel Comb.
Stage 2: The adult Angel Comb (northwest of Lifepod)
Return to your Lifepod and head northwest. Keep your compass between 330 and 345 degrees. You'll find the larger, adult Angel Comb here, also overtaken by infestation. This one has 3 blooms to destroy rather than 4.
After clearing them, the quest points you southwest from this location for the final stage.
Both this site and the final one have toxic spots and aggressive aquatic life forms. Watch your footing and use the Resonator to push creatures away if they close in on you.
Stage 3: The final Angel Comb (southwest of stage 2)
Head southwest from the adult Angel Comb's location. The third and final infected Angel Comb is here, surrounded by more blooms. Clear every one with the Sonic Resonator and you'll complete all three stages of the infestation quest.

What's the reward for curing the Angel Comb?
Finishing all three stages earns you a tolerance to an extreme environmental condition. The source material describes this as a "nice tolerance" to one of the game's harsher biome hazards. The exact condition isn't specified in available documentation, but the reward is permanent and directly useful for deeper exploration.
Are there more Angel Combs to find?
Yes. The three sites in this quest aren't the only Angel Combs in the ocean. There are additional ones to discover, and at least one early-game example unlocks the ability to digest organic food items found in the water. Each Angel Comb interaction tends to offer a different Adaptation, so hunting them down is worth prioritizing as you expand your exploration range.
