TBH: Task Bar Hero Class Tier List: Best Classes Ranked

TBH: Task Bar Hero looks deceptively simple sitting on your PC taskbar, but the moment you start picking classes and building team compositions, the depth reveals itself fast. There are 6 classes in total, each with distinct roles, damage types, and build requirements. Some work in almost any squad. Others need very specific setups to justify a roster slot. This tier list breaks down every class so you know exactly where to spend your time and, if needed, your money.

S-Tier Classes

Knight

The Knight is the best free class in the game and arguably the most flexible pick across all six options. Good damage output, decent defense, and enough build variety to fit almost any squad. You can lean fully into tanking with a defense-heavy build, or run a hybrid offense-defense setup that lets him contribute damage while absorbing hits. That flexibility is what puts him in S-tier. Beginners should start here, and veterans will keep coming back to him as a reliable anchor for tougher runs.

Hunter

The Hunter costs extra through DLC, but the performance justifies it. Her crossbow bolts apply elemental status effects to enemies, and she deals solid AoE damage on top of that. The optimal approach with her is to stack attack as high as possible and pair her with classes that buff her abilities. She rewards investment more than almost any other class, and once she gets going, her elemental procs make her a consistent threat against groups.

A-tier classes: strong with the right setup

Priest

The Priest is a free DLC class built around support. Her first skill heals the team and buffs their attacks, which makes her genuinely useful in longer runs where sustain matters. The catch is she cannot carry fights on her own. She needs allies to deal damage while she keeps everyone alive. Invest in her defense to help her survive harder encounters. She pairs best with the Knight and Hunter, giving that trio excellent coverage across damage, tanking, and healing.

Sorcerer

The Sorcerer is the default mage class and focuses entirely on AoE damage. She feels slightly weaker than the Hunter in direct comparison, but she still puts out respectable numbers if you build her correctly. Max her ability power as the priority stat, and pair her with tankier classes since her health pool is thin. She fills a similar damage role to the Hunter at no extra cost, which keeps her relevant even if she is not quite at the same level.

Slayer

The Slayer is a melee attacker whose abilities hit single targets and groups depending on the situation. His damage scales up significantly when he lands kills, which creates a momentum-based playstyle that can feel satisfying in the right run. The problem is the Knight covers a lot of the same ground while also tanking. The Slayer sits in A-tier rather than S-tier because of that overlap, and the fact that he is locked behind paid DLC makes the value proposition harder to justify unless you specifically want a melee-focused squad.

B-tier classes: situational at best

Ranger

The Ranger is the free alternative to the Hunter for players who want a ranged attacker without spending on DLC. She can target single enemies or switch to AoE, which sounds flexible on paper. In practice, her AoE damage has a limited range that cuts into its effectiveness, and her abilities take more effort to understand than most other classes. She can perform well with the right team and item build behind her, but she requires more work to get there than the Hunter does for better results.

What's the best team composition in TBH: Task Bar Hero?

After testing different squad combinations, the Knight, Hunter, and Priest trio stands out as the most reliable three-class setup. The Knight tanks and deals damage, the Hunter applies elemental effects and clears groups, and the Priest keeps both of them alive while boosting their output. This composition handles both sustained fights and large enemy waves without needing perfect item luck to function.

If you are playing free-to-play only, substitute the Hunter with the Sorcerer. The AoE damage coverage is similar, and the Priest's buffs help compensate for the Sorcerer's lower ceiling.
