Golden Eggs are the best collectibles in Voidling Bound by a wide margin. Unlike Quackies, which are pure completion fodder, these eggs hatch into mutated Voidlings that sit completely outside the normal genetic tree. Each one comes pre-loaded with a unique perk, a fixed Nature, and exclusive genes that only become available through Splicing once you have them. There are 15 total, spread across 9 missions on four planets. Here is exactly where to find every one.
Why Golden Eggs are worth your time
The short version: Golden Eggs hatch Voidlings that already start in their final evolution state. That means you skip the Mutagen grind for that particular variant and land straight at a creature with a mutated perk already active. Some of these perks are genuinely strong, and a few are nearly mandatory for specific build directions.
They are also one-time collectibles with fixed results, so there is no randomness involved. Grab the egg, return to the ship even without finishing the mission, and hatch it at your leisure. The egg stays in your inventory whether you complete the mission or bail out early.
For endgame content like Void Strike, having access to these mutated perks through the Splicing Station can meaningfully change what your builds are capable of. Collecting all 15 also fills out the Voidpedia entries that standard progression cannot reach.

Planet Vireo Golden Egg locations
Centennial Bloom (1 egg): Qwebek Kwipeck
This is the first Golden Egg available in the game, and it rewards one of the most immediately useful mobility perks. From the mission start, go through the large purple door and head up the rock formation on the far side. The egg sits at the top.
If you want a slightly more detailed route: look across the gorge from the starting area and shoot the purple gunk on the far wall. This reveals platforms. Work around the gorge through the arena with the orange building, then head right and upward along the cliff path.
The extra jump from Snowbird is not just a traversal perk. It opens up combat positioning options that a standard double-jump build cannot reach.
Secret Stronghold (2 eggs): Experimental Gwigoon and Telluric Gilick
Both eggs here are close to spawn, making this one of the fastest double-egg pickups in the game.
Egg 1: Spin around from your spawn point. There is a small alcove behind you covered in purple sludge. Shoot it off and the egg is visible from a distance.
Egg 2: Head toward the building on the ledge near the cleansing location. Enter through the front entrance and go up the stairs. The egg is inside.
Experimental Gwigoon is a farming machine. Running it during Research Points cleanup missions noticeably accelerates Cerebrum Enhancer progress.

Behind spawn, easy to miss
Planet Solum Golden Egg locations
Search and Rescue (2 eggs): Andromeda Gilick and Charcoal Kerapin
Both eggs are spread across the mission but sit close enough to the main path that you will not need to backtrack far.
Egg 1: Jump off the starting platform and walk straight ahead. At the end of the hallway, turn right, then immediately right again into a large open area. Two thick purple cords connect to the main door. Cut both to open it. Go through, jump to the higher level at the end of the hall, and turn left.
Egg 2: Continue through the mission to the boss area, the final cleansing section. There is a building at the back of that area. Go inside for the second egg. Running straight in before the boss fight is faster than waiting until after.
Cleaning the Eyrie (2 eggs): Arching Gwigoon and Lab Rat Anami
Egg 1: Jump off the platform and run straight ahead to the next area. There is a purple building ahead. Go inside and grab the egg.
Egg 2: Exit that building and look left toward the icy rocks. There is a fire crystal up on the rocks. Shoot it down to start a lava flow. Follow the lava path to reach the second egg nearby.
Lab Rat Anami is worth keeping active during any mission where you need a specific Mutagen type. The 25% boost is significant when you are farming a rare element.
Subterranean Expedition (1 egg): Transcendent Anami
The egg is frozen inside an icy rock and requires two fire crystal shots to reach.
From the start, clear the first and second areas and continue down the path until you reach the area with a giant fire crystal. Shoot it to melt the door on your left. On the upper portion of that now-melted icy door, there is another fire crystal. Shoot that one too, which melts a second door. Go through to return to your earlier position and collect the egg.
Planet Aulis Golden Egg locations
Storm Breaker (1 egg): Argon Nimiod
Quick pickup. After taking the first alien transit station (activate it by shooting the floating ball), you land in a new area. Shoot the purple goop directly ahead, then stick to the left side of the path. Round the bend and jump up to the next level. The egg is right there.
Pair Argon Nimiod with Andromeda Gilick and Transcendent Anami in a Splicing build and Float becomes a full damage system rather than just a status effect.
Navigate the Maze (2 eggs): Gold Nugget Kwipeck and Hellfire Packuran
Egg 1: Near a large blue plant structure that acts as a jumping platform, get up to the upper level and find the natural bridge. The egg sits in the center of it.
Egg 2: Head into the underground cleansing area. The egg is just off to the side, partially obscured by roots. Look for the gold shine.
Hellfire Packuran is one of the strongest damage-focused mutations in the game. Triple Burn damage is not a subtle bonus. Any fire-focused build should have this perk in its Splicing setup.
Pull the Plug (2 eggs): Chthonian Morfang and Heavenly Packuran
These two require the most effort of any pair in the game.
Egg 1: Right at mission start, look for the large rock formation with the long purple line running up it. The egg sits at the top. Shoot the purple slime-like growths on the rock face to open climbing paths, then work your way up.
Egg 2: Progress through the mission until you reach an area with a broken bridge and a lower cave entrance blocked by purple goop. An alien transit station passes through this area. Jump off when you get close, clear enough goop to enter the cave, and the egg is inside.

Shoot slime to open the path
The Abyss Golden Egg locations
End to the Unknown (2 eggs): Locust Packuran and Galvanic Ur-Sek
The final two eggs are not off the critical path, but they require a bit of awareness.
Egg 1: Progress until you reach an arena with a purple barrier. Shoot three purple growths to create platforms up to the upper level. Once up there, turn right to shoot what needs shooting, then head left to find the egg.
Egg 2: Continue through the mission to a later arena. Near the edge, you will spot purple goop below. Shoot it and drop down to find the final egg.

How do Golden Eggs fit into your broader build?
Collecting Golden Eggs is not just a checklist exercise. The mutations they carry become available in the Splicing Station, which means the more you have, the more build options open up. Float-focused builds benefit enormously from stacking Argon Nimiod, Andromeda Gilick, and Transcendent Anami perks. Burn builds want Hellfire Packuran as early as possible. Defensive players will find Galvanic Ur-Sek and Heavenly Packuran useful well into the Abyss.
The Researcher perk on Experimental Gwigoon is worth singling out for early game. A 15% Research Points bonus on every kill speeds up your Cerebrum Enhancer upgrades noticeably, which has a ripple effect on every Voidling of that species going forward.

Splicing unlocks egg mutations
For everything else you need to get the most out of your runs, the full Voidling Bound guides collection covers progression systems, farming routes, and build planning in detail. If your frame rate is holding back your exploration runs, the best PC settings guide will help you cut stutters before you start hunting eggs in The Abyss. Voidling Bound sits comfortably among the better adventure games released this year, and the Golden Egg system is a big reason why the creature roster stays interesting from first mission to last.
