What is the Knights of the Wild event?
Knights of the Wild is a Featured Challenge Event in Wuthering Waves Version 3.2, running from April 9 to April 29, 2026. The event takes place across Lahai-Roi, where you repair damaged Grand Knights scattered throughout seven distinct exam zones. Each exam unlocks daily, and the total reward pool includes 600 Astrites plus Resonator upgrade materials. The event hit a rough start on launch day due to a bug causing game blackouts and UI issues, but a quick patch on April 9 resolved everything.
How to unlock Knights of the Wild
To access the event, you need to have reached Lahai-Roi and be logged in during Version 3.2. No additional quest prerequisites are listed beyond that. Once unlocked, the seven exam stages open one per day, so you can either tackle them as they drop or wait and clear all seven in a single session before April 29, 2026.
How does the GPA system work?
GPA is the core progression mechanic in this event, and understanding it separates a clean run from a frustrating one. Your character has two GPA-related meters:
- GPA Level: Permanent buffs that carry over between exams, shown in the Buff Overview screen.
- Interim Level: Temporary buffs active only for the current exam stage.
GPA increases when you defeat enemies, collect Treasure Chests, land Counterattacks, and maintain combat momentum. It drops when you take hits or stand idle. The target to hit across all seven exams is 700 total GPA, which unlocks the final GPA milestone rewards.
info
Use the Owlwatch Scanner to automatically collect treasure chests on the map. Hook your bike through the scanner near a ramp and identify all chests in one sweep, saving significant time per exam. The Event Map is your best friend here. Open it regularly to track Grand Knight locations, Treasure Spots, and zone order. The numbered sequence on the map is the recommended path for maximizing GPA before hitting the Boss Challenge.
info
Grand Knights can be used to skip directly to the Boss Challenge if you want to rush, but going in underleveled means longer, harder fights. Only skip zones when your GPA buffs are already strong.
What are the best teams for each exam?
Every exam boss has a specific weakness you can exploit for bonus damage. Matching your team to the mechanic is the difference between a smooth clear and running out the clock.
Exam 1: Tempest Mephis boss
Boss mechanic: High Electro RES, but takes 30% more Echo Skill DMG.
The trial characters provided work fine for the regular zones. For the boss, Galbrena or Phrolova are the standout picks because of their high Echo Skill damage output, which gets amplified by that 30% bonus.
warning
Zones 1-5 share a mechanic where Elite Class enemies deal 30% more ATK to any friendly unit within 15m. Stay mobile and avoid clustering near elites.Exam 2: Inferno Rider boss
Boss mechanic: High Fusion RES, takes 30% more Heavy Attack DMG.
Augusta (Heavy Attack scaling) and Jiyan are the top picks for this exam. The trial team handles the regular zones, but swapping in a Heavy Attack-focused DPS for the Inferno Rider pays off. Zone elites also deal Fusion DMG equal to 2% of their Max HP to nearby players, so keep your distance during their attacks.
Exam 3: Mech Abomination boss
Boss mechanic: High Electro RES by default. Takes reduced Attribute DMG unless the enemy is immobilized or inflicted with Tune Break. Takes increased Tune Break DMG.
This is where Lynae and Mornye become the core of your team. Any DPS that builds Tune Break synergizes here. Aemeath (Rupture DPS) and Luuk (Strain DPS) are the top options. If you don't have either, any non-Negative DPS with Mornye on support still works. Zone elites deal 100% of their ATK as explosion damage on death, so clear them carefully.
Exam 4: Sentry Construct boss
Boss mechanic: High Glacio RES. Inflicts Glacio Chafe on hit. Resonators remove the Chafe and inflict it back on the boss by applying Negative Status.
Negative Status teams are mandatory here. The trial team handles this natively. Chisa and Buling are excellent alternatives because both apply Havoc Bane and Electro Flare, ensuring consistent Negative Status application. Zone enemies restore 20% HP to other enemies when they die, so prioritize burst kills over attrition.
Exam 5: Hyvatia boss
Boss mechanic: High Spectro RES. Periodically generates a sword array that pulls and damages nearby Resonators.
Any non-Spectro team works. Lynae and Mornye paired with any DPS is the strongest general option. The Aemeath Rupture team also excels here. Zone enemies have a mechanic where taking damage above 25% of their HP triggers a knockback and 100% ATK hit, so pace your burst windows.
Exam 6: Reactor Husk boss
Boss mechanic: High Fusion RES. Periodically releases a lava blast dealing Fusion DMG. Dodge Counters reduce its Vibration Strength more efficiently.
Avoid Fusion teams entirely. Zani Spectro is the recommended pick because Zani generates frequent Dodge Counter opportunities. Zone enemies are immune to interruption while above 50% HP, so hold your stagger tools for the second half of each fight.
info
A Dodge Counter is the attack executed immediately after evading an enemy hit. This is separate from a parry. Practice the timing before entering the boss room.
Exam 7 (unlocked April 15, 2026)
Based on available information from the source, Exam 7 follows the same daily unlock structure as the previous six exams. The full stage details will be accessible once the exam goes live.
What rewards does the event give?
The full reward breakdown across all seven exams is substantial. Every exam cleared gives 60 Astrites plus upgrade materials. Clearing all seven adds another 50,000 Shell Credits on top.

GPA level milestone rewards
Hitting GPA thresholds across all exams adds more Astrites and Lahai-Roi specific upgrade materials:
Hitting GPA 700 requires completing all zones in every exam without skipping. The motorbike helps here: use your Expedition Motorbike to cover ground between Grand Knights faster, and use the bike's ramp mechanics to reach elevated Treasure Spots quickly.
Quick tips before you start
- Do all zones in each exam, not just the boss. Skipping zones loses GPA that you cannot recover.
- Match your element to each zone's RES table. Bringing an Electro team into Exam 1's Electro-resistant zones just makes fights longer.
- Lynae and Mornye are the most universally useful support pair across Exams 3, 5, and 6. If you pulled either in 3.2 Phase 2, they will carry you through the hardest exams.
- The Dodge Counter mechanic in Exam 6 is not the same as a parry. Practice it separately if the timing feels unfamiliar.
- All rewards are limited-time. The event closes April 29, 2026, so don't let the daily unlock schedule lull you into delaying.
