Wuthering Waves keeps evolving, and with each new patch bringing powerful Resonators into the mix, knowing who to pull for can make or break your account. Whether you are building a mono-element squad or hunting for the most flexible support in the game, this tier list breaks down every Resonator from the absolute best to the ones worth skipping entirely.
How Does This Tier List Work?
Resonators are ranked across five tiers: SS, S, A, B, and C. Placement reflects a character's damage output, team flexibility, meta relevance, and how well they perform in endgame content like the Tower of Adversity. Characters at the top of SS tier can carry teams on their own, while C-tier units struggle to stay relevant past the early game.

Who Are the SS Tier Resonators?
SS tier is home to the most dominant Resonators in the current meta. These characters either deal exceptional damage, provide unmatched support, or do both at once.
Aemeath
Aemeath earns her SS placement immediately on release. She is a highly versatile DPS who slots naturally into Tune Rupture, Fusion Burst, and Mono Fusion team setups. That kind of multi-team compatibility is rare, and her raw damage output places her among the top damage dealers in the entire roster.
Iuno
Iuno is arguably the most flexible character in Wuthering Waves. She functions as a sub-DPS while also providing healing, stamina regeneration, and Heavy Attack DMG amplification. Her one catch is that she truly shines when paired with Augusta, so plan your roster accordingly.
Cartethyia
Cartethyia holds the title of best Aero DPS in the game. She applies Aero Erosion independently without needing help from teammates, and her entire kit scales on HP, which means she is both durable and hits incredibly hard. If you want a top-tier Aero carry, she is the answer.
Ciaccona
Ciaccona is the dedicated Aero support who makes Cartethyia even more dangerous. She stacks Aero Erosion and Spectro Frazzle on enemies while buffing Aero DMG for the whole team. Running these two together is one of the strongest pairings in the current meta.
Lupa
Lupa is the cornerstone of every Fusion team. She shreds enemy Fusion resistance and passively boosts Fusion damage for all allies. The trade-off is that her kit is very niche outside of Fusion compositions, so she is a targeted pull rather than a universal pick.
Lynae
Lynae is a sub-DPS who buffs all DMG through her Liberation and Outro Skill while also driving Tune Break mechanics. She fits into almost every team in the game, making her one of the most pull-worthy Resonators regardless of which main DPS you are building around.
Shorekeeper
Shorekeeper remains one of the strongest supports in Wuthering Waves. She buffs Crit Rate for allies, heals, amplifies damage, and can prevent a KO once per rotation. She fits into nearly every team composition, which makes her a priority pull for any account.
Augusta
Augusta is a Electro DPS who specializes in Heavy Attack DMG and has the unique ability to stop time mid-fight. Beyond the spectacle, her damage output is elite and she is the required partner for Iuno to reach her full potential.
Galbrena
Galbrena is one of the hardest-hitting DPS characters available. Her split scaling lets her adapt to different team setups, and her sheer damage numbers justify her SS placement without needing much explanation.
Mornye
Mornye is the top healing support for Tune Break teams. She buffs all DMG amplification, enhances Off-Tune buildup rate for every Resonator, and increases the damage enemies take. She is practically mandatory for characters like Luuk Herssen who rely on Tune mechanics.
Phrolova
Phrolova rounds out the SS tier as another top-tier support option. Available data places her firmly among the best in the game alongside Shorekeeper and Mornye.

Who Are the S Tier Resonators?
S tier characters are strong and reliable. They are either slightly off-meta or have been partially outpaced by newer releases, but they remain excellent choices for most content.
Verina
Verina is the gold standard for healing supports and one of the most universally recommended Resonators in the game. Her Outro Skill provides a 15% All-Type DMG Deepen for 30 seconds to all party members, which is strictly better than Baizhi's equivalent buff since it applies to the whole team rather than one character. She also has an Inherent Skill that prevents one fatal hit per 10 minutes at Union Level 40. Her best weapon is the Stellar Symphony for its HP boost and Concerto Energy generation, with Variation as a strong alternative at higher Syntony levels. For Echo sets, run a 5-piece Rejuvenating Glow with Fallacy of No Return as the main Echo.
For skill priority, focus on Forte Circuit and Resonance Liberation first since those drive her healing. Normal Attack and Intro Skill upgrades only increase damage, which is not Verina's purpose.
Jiyan
Jiyan, the general of the Midnight Rangers, is a Heavy Attack-focused Aero DPS with strong AoE clear. He is straightforward to play and can wipe groups of enemies after activating his Resonance Liberation. His consistency and ease of use keep him firmly in S tier.
Carlotta
Carlotta is the best Glacio DPS in the game, but Glacio teams have shifted out of the main meta, dropping her from SS to S. She is still a premium DPS unit and the go-to choice if you are building a Glacio team. Her kit revolves around accumulating Substance to empower her Heavy Attack Imminent Oblivion and cycling through her Resonance Liberation's Twilight Tango to stack Meta Vectors for a powerful finishing shot.
For weapons, her signature The Last Dance (5-star) is the best option with 500 Base ATK and 72% Crit DMG, plus a passive that boosts Resonance Skill DMG Bonus by 48% for 5 seconds after casting Intro Skill or Liberation. Static Mist works as a strong alternative. For Echo sets, Frosty Resolve has a notable activation advantage over Freezing Frost thanks to its main Echo skill, though both produce similar damage numbers. Prioritize Resonance Liberation, Resonance Skill, and Forte Circuit for skill leveling.
info
Carlotta's best team is Carlotta, Zhezhi, and Shorekeeper. If you lack Zhezhi, Taoqi or Lumi work in hypercarry setups with Verina as the sustain.
Zani
Zani is the strongest Spectro DPS right now, built entirely around Spectro Frazzle stacking. The meta shift toward Tune Break over Spectro Frazzle is the only reason she sits in S rather than SS.
Chisa
Chisa is a universal debuffer who raises max stack counts for all status effects and reduces enemy defense. She is powerful, but the current meta favors amplifying supports over debuffers, limiting her team options.
Sanhua
Sanhua is one of the best free Resonators in the game. As a 4-star Glacio DPS, she outperforms several 5-star characters when built correctly, making her an excellent choice for budget Glacio teams and a strong sub-DPS option in Carlotta compositions.
What About A, B, and C Tier?
A Tier: Strong Situational Picks
A tier Resonators including Brant, Cantarella, Jinhsi, Changli, Camellya, Xiangli Yao, and others are solid characters who work well in specific team compositions. They are not the first choice for most meta setups, but if you enjoy their playstyle or need them to fill a specific role, they will serve you well in most content.
info
A tier characters like Jinhsi and Changli are excellent in quick-swap teams with Carlotta, giving budget players a strong alternative to the premium Carlotta, Zhezhi, Shorekeeper lineup.
B Tier: Early-to-Mid Game Characters
Calcharo, Havoc Rover, Danjin, Jianxin, Yinlin, and their B tier peers were strong in earlier versions of the game but have been outpaced by newer releases. Danjin in particular still has real damage potential but requires a very specific and demanding playstyle that does not suit every player.
C Tier: Skip Unless You Love Them
Chixia, Lingyang, Youhu, Lumi, Aalto, Yangyang, and Taoqi are the weakest options in the current roster. They can get you through early content, but they fall off sharply in mid-to-late game challenges. Pull for these only if you genuinely enjoy the characters.
warning
Do not spend limited Astrites pulling for C tier characters. Save your resources for SS and S tier picks who will carry you through endgame content like the Tower of Adversity.

Luuk echo set selection
How to Build the Best Teams?
Every team in Wuthering Waves runs three Resonators. The general formula is one main DPS, one sub-DPS or buffer, and one sustain. Here are some of the strongest compositions based on current SS and S tier characters.
For Luuk Herssen specifically, his best weapon is the Daybreaker's Spine signature 5-star Gauntlet, which buffs ATK by 12%, grants a 20% Spectro bonus on Basic Attack hits, and provides a 20% Basic Attack damage amplification that ignores 10% of enemy DEF when inflicting Tune Strain. The free Pulsation Bracer from the Standard Banner is a strong F2P alternative. His only Echo set option is Rite of Gilded Revelation, which is tailor-made for his kit and provides a 10% Spectro and Basic Attack damage bonus plus an additional 40% Basic Attack amplification when using Liberation. Use Twin Nova - Nebulous Cannon as the main Echo since the standard 4-cost Echo for this set is not compatible with Luuk's mechanics.
